Chapter 305: Confrontation 2
Chapter 305: Chapter 303: Confrontation 2
“Heh, this is getting interesting.” As his smile stretched into a grotesque grin, he raised his right hand and snapped his fingers.
Zhang Wenda’s vision blurred. The next second, he was staring at the man’s ugly face again. A sharp pain suddenly shot through his chest. Looking down, he discovered the man’s ten fingers had somehow plunged into his own torso.
‘He knows Qi Gong Transfer No. 6, too?’ Though he didn’t know how, Zhang Wenda grabbed the man’s arms, preparing to transfer his wounds over.
But Zhang Wenda quickly realized something was wrong. His injuries hadn’t changed at all; they were still on his own body.
The skinny man’s fingers went rigid, then twisted forcefully. The pain was so intense that Zhang Wenda nearly passed out. He quickly dispersed the wounds to the Black Cat.
“Hah!” Under Song Jianguo’s control, the Black Cat covering Zhang Wenda’s body transformed into several gaping, savage maws that lunged forward to bite.
With another snap of the fingers, those fanged maws bit down on Zhang Wenda himself.
Seeing this, Zhang Wenda’s situation went from bad to worse. His pupils contracted. ‘He doesn’t transfer injuries, he transfers his entire situation! He can transfer anything inflicted on him to someone else!’
This was especially true when Zhang Wenda felt Hu Maomao’s Tissue Entanglement Technique manifesting on his own body.
Having figured it all out, Zhang Wenda rapidly retreated, putting as much distance as possible between them. A guy with this ability was just too difficult to handle.
No matter the attack, as long as he snapped his fingers, it would be redirected to Zhang Wenda.
Seeing Zhang Wenda’s retreat, the man showed no intention of stopping him. He just stood there calmly, watching Zhang Wenda with a cat-and-mouse expression.
“Come at me with whatever you’ve got. I promise I won’t fight back. If you can so much as hurt a single one of my fingers, I’ll let you go. How about it?”
“But if you lose, you give me that cat of yours. I’ve taken quite a liking to it.”
“Hah…” Hearing this, Zhang Wenda felt a surge of rage.
But soon, the blue light inside him flared, and his mind began racing.
‘He seems to be underestimating me. Maybe I can use that.’
‘And his ability seems to require a finger snap to activate. Is there a way to stop him from snapping?’
The next second, he charged forward again. Just as the man’s smile returned, stretching to its absolute widest…
Zhang Wenda shot out his right hand and shoved the long, thick Wai Mushroom he was holding right down the man’s throat. The man immediately let out a choked gag.
This time, the man couldn’t laugh. The move hadn’t done much damage, but it was utterly humiliating.
With another snap, the Wai Mushroom appeared in Zhang Wenda’s mouth. He bit down hard and began to chew vigorously.
As a translucent rabbit materialized in mid-air, Zhang Wenda also saw a translucent spider appear alongside it.
The skinny man, having “eaten” the Wai Mushroom, saw this too. But being an obscure foreign item, he had no idea what it represented and didn’t think to transfer the effect.
He didn’t know what it was, but Zhang Wenda did. He flickered over to the transparent spider and, with a slash of his right hand, sliced it into several pieces.
The instant the spider was cut apart, the skinny man, who had been perfectly fine a moment before, staggered violently. He lost his balance and pitched forward into the water.
Zhang Wenda knew the extremely unpleasant sensation of having one’s Wai destroyed. In that state, your brain turns to mush; you’re in no condition to spare the energy to snap your fingers.
“Wenda! Now’s your chance!” Just as Hu Maomao shouted, Zhang Wenda was already lunging, aiming his sharp scythe at the man’s head.
He refused to believe that if he killed this guy, he could somehow transfer even death to someone else.
Just as the scythe was about to pierce the man’s head, D-D-D-DING! Accompanied by the sound of a bug-error alert, yellow pop-up windows rapidly appeared, blocking Zhang Wenda’s attack.
When the pop-ups vanished, Qianxi’s blocky head appeared before Zhang Wenda.
Seeing this, Zhang Wenda’s face turned grim as he rapidly backed away. ‘How is Qianxi here? Could it be…’
His gaze swept across the other battlefields. He saw that the square-jawed man in camouflage had been reduced to a struggling mass of pixels. The other three—everyone except Qianxi and the skinny guy—were now ganging up on Ouyang Shuangdian!
Lakov had even summoned his puppet Jesus. It was clear Ouyang Shuangdian couldn’t hold out for much longer.
Zhang Wenda’s expression turned hideous. The situation had become even more dire; it was safe to say there was no chance of a comeback now.
Qianxi didn’t attack Zhang Wenda directly. Instead, he turned to the recovering skinny man. “Go help them. Leave this kid to me. I have a score to settle with him.”
The skinny man shot him a vicious glare and was about to turn and leave. Clinging to a sliver of hope, Zhang Wenda asked, “I already hurt you. What gives? Going back on your word?”
“Tch. Of course it doesn’t count. Is this your first time dealing with us from the Big Circle? We have no rules. For us, treating our promises like farts is just business as usual.” After speaking, he shrugged and ceded the area to Qianxi and Zhang Wenda.
With the square-jawed man’s death, the invisible liquid gradually dissipated. The two of them now stood firmly on the ground, staring each other down.
“Long time no see, Zhang Wenda. You wanted to avenge your uncle, didn’t you? Well, I’m right here. You can make your move,” Qianxi said, spreading his arms wide.
Zhang Wenda said nothing. Staring at his sworn enemy, his eyes blazed with a fury he forcibly suppressed.
“Not bad, not bad. It seems you’ve really grown up,” Qianxi remarked with a sigh.
“I still remember when you were just a little brat who didn’t know a thing. Now you’re all grown up, and you’ve caused me so much trouble.”
“I haven’t forgotten that you and the Big Circle Leopard tried to ambush me. I’ve already taken my revenge on the Big Circle Leopard. Now, it’s your turn.” White computer cursors of all sizes arranged themselves neatly behind him, fanning out like a peacock’s tail.
Facing Qianxi, whose power he was all too familiar with, Zhang Wenda didn’t say a word. He just turned and fled.
Qianxi summoned a cursor, tapped himself with it, and instantly set his speed to maximum.
Zhang Wenda was known for his speed, but right now, Qianxi was able to keep up just by walking normally.
“Where can you run? Ideology No. 13 is my territory. You can’t escape.”
Zhang Wenda remained silent, nimbly dodging Qianxi’s pursuit as he continued to sprint wildly through the ruins.
“It seems you’ve changed a lot. Not even a hint of wanting to avenge Biaozi. Zhang Wenda, have you been through a lot lately? To change so drastically… could this be what they call ‘growth’?”
Seeing that Zhang Wenda wasn’t saying anything, Qianxi lost interest in conversation. He raised a hand, and a cascade of overlapping cursors, large and small, shot toward Zhang Wenda.
With a hard slash of his blue scythe, Zhang Wenda vanished from his spot.
The next second, a rift opened and a dozen figures in black cloaks rushed out, scattering in different directions. Song Jianguo’s Cat Clones instantly reduced the pressure on Zhang Wenda.
Even though he could have dealt with the cursors, Zhang Wenda ignored them, focusing only on running for his life.
“Wenda, this isn’t working! We can’t shake him. Let’s stand and fight!” Song Jianguo said anxiously.
Zhang Wenda didn’t reply. He glanced back at the pursuing Qianxi, then down at the radar in his hand. The number on it had unknowingly changed to -126.
Zhang Wenda shot Qianxi a death glare. ‘If you’ve got the guts, then follow me!’ he thought.
He didn’t know what would happen if the number kept dropping into the negatives, but judging by the bizarre conditions in the ruins of the Tower of Babel, it couldn’t be anything good.
He was definitely no match for Qianxi right now, but in this grotesque world, there were plenty of things that could be!
