Chapter 304: Confrontation

Chapter 304: Chapter 303: Confrontation

Suspended in mid-air above the desolate ruins of the Tower of Babel, three individuals with bizarre bodies and peculiar appearances fanned out from behind Rakov. They joined Qianxi and Rakov, completing the encirclement of Zhang Wenda and his group.

One woman and two men. Though they looked somewhat ragged and appeared to be injured, the very fact that they could stand perfectly steady on the water’s surface proved their formidable strength. They were clearly all Level 3.

‘There are three of us, and I barely even count as one. But their side, with Rakov and Qianxi, has five people in total.’

Zhang Wenda’s heart sank. ‘The odds are just too low.’

Just then, one of them—a skinny man with multicolored hair and lip and tongue piercings—was the first to speak.

“Qianxi, you had to call for reinforcements for this small group? The entire Third Line is deployed; we’re under a lot of pressure over on our end, you know.”

Hearing that the entire Third Line had been deployed, Zhang Wenda and the others were instantly alarmed. In such a short period, the situation outside had already changed.

Hearing someone dare to speak to them like that, an angry emoji instantly popped up on Qianxi’s computer screen. “Cut the crap. Who’s the boss of the Big Circle, you or me? Now get to it.”

“If you’re so tough, why’d you need to call for help? I’m not lifting a finger. What are you gonna do about it?” He spread his hands, his face a mask of indifference. “That’s just how we are in the Big Circle. We do whatever we want.”

The two started bickering back and forth, completely ignoring Zhang Wenda and his companions as if they were already dead.

The three quickly used Hu Maomao’s telepathic network to confer, instantly deciding to attempt a breakout while their opponents were still divided.

Just as the three of them mentally counted down—’Three, two, one!’—Ouyang Shuangdian’s power activated, and the entire area was plunged into darkness.

At that exact moment, Zhang Wenda moved. He slammed his feet down on the psionic platform he stood on, his body blurring into an afterimage as he shot toward an unguarded area to his left.

The instant he moved, Rakov’s eyeless sockets snapped in his direction, but he remained still.

The next second, with a bizarre grin, the skinny man with the piercings appeared, blocking Zhang Wenda from Rakov’s view.

He sized up Zhang Wenda with his tattooed eyeballs, his gaze filled with curiosity.

Just as Zhang Wenda was about to break free from the encirclement, the skinny man suddenly moved. He whipped his right arm back, and it rapidly stretched out.

His arm didn’t turn to rubber. Instead, under the extreme tension, skin and flesh tore apart as it was forcibly, brutally elongated.

Amid the sound of tearing flesh, a spear wreathed in a red and blue spiral rapidly materialized in his elongated hand.

With a deafening CRACK like a sonic boom, the spear instantly appeared before Zhang Wenda, having moved in some bizarre, unnatural fashion.

There was no time to dodge. Zhang Wenda barely managed to raise his own spear to block. Red ground against red, letting out a cacophony of agonizing roars, screams, and howls.

Zhang Wenda had survived, but before he could even lower his spear, the skinny man was already in front of him, a taunting look in his eyes. “When the grown-ups are talking, kids shouldn’t run off. Don’t you even know that simple rule?”

The sounds of battle were now erupting elsewhere. It was obvious his allies had been engaged as well. His opponents intended to keep all three of them here by force.

‘If I want to live, I have to kill the man in front of me!’

Zhang Wenda knew his chances were slim, but he had no other choice.

“Don’t worry, I’m still here,” Hu Maomao’s voice sounded in Zhang Wenda’s mind. “We’ll face him together.”

Zhang Wenda stared intently at the man, his gaze fixed on the arm that was now a mangled, bloody mess from being stretched.

Just as he was planning to attack the injured arm, the man tilted his head slightly. Two new arms suddenly sprouted from his shoulders. They lifted a roll of bandages, swiftly wrapped the injured arm, and then retracted back into his body.

“Now!” Zhang Wenda charged forward without hesitation. The command wasn’t for himself, but for Hu Maomao and Song Jianguo.

‘Our only advantage is that there are three of us working together.’

As he closed the distance, the Double Fish Jade Pendant’s power flared. More and more Black Cats materialized around him, his armor growing thicker and heavier.

Yet, faced with Zhang Wenda—who stood nearly four meters tall in his new armor—the man seemed completely unfazed. He simply stood his ground, making no move to dodge.

The moment Hu Maomao, from a distance, used her Tissue Entanglement Technique on the man, Zhang Wenda’s speed surged. With a sickening SQUELCH, his scythe, which could cleave iron like clay, plunged directly into his opponent’s chest.

None of the three—Zhang Wenda, Hu Maomao, or Song Jianguo—had expected this. ‘Was it really that easy?’

Zhang Wenda, suspecting his opponent had some kind of special healing ability, immediately twisted the scythe with all his might. Blood dribbled from the corner of the man’s mouth as his entire body was ripped apart like a tattered old rag doll.

Furthermore, the wounds themselves transformed into countless mouths that began to frantically chew away at the surrounding flesh.

Zhang Wenda could feel the “red” within the man’s body steadily weakening. He had definitely wounded him. And yet, there wasn’t the slightest trace of fear in the man’s eyes. On the contrary, the smile on his lips only grew wider.
