Longevity in Naruto

Chapter 357: Desires

“There is one last thing I want you to do, child.”

Dan said as he held his chin and looked at Sato before their meeting came to an end.

“Yes, Father. Go ahead.”

“Send the Uzumaki clan a proposal to form an alliance through marriage.”

Sato listened to his father’s words. Although the matter seemed a little surprising, he did not interrupt and instead waited for his father to continue, because he knew that he never spoke without reason.

Dan then continued:

“I want their princess, and in return, they will receive our protection in case anything happens that threatens them. I know that the Uzumaki clan is strong, but in the future, they will become the target of several powers, and they will need a strong ally. We are the strongest ally they could find. I take their princess, and they receive the security they are looking for.”

Sato was even more surprised. He had not expected his father to be the one who wanted to marry the princess of the Uzumaki clan. He had thought that his father would suggest one of his younger brothers, or perhaps another member of the family, but he had never imagined that his father himself would want her. Nevertheless, he quickly understood the situation and said:

“Alright, Father. I will send a messenger to them as soon as possible, inform them of the proposal, and personally follow up on the matter.”

After Sato left some time later, Dan’s expression changed as he began thinking, his smile carrying a hint of self-mockery. He muttered quietly:

“It’s strange that I still have desires like this. I still find myself wanting something that isn’t important.”

“I think that’s a good thing. It means I’m still human.”

In truth, there was no strategic reason or objective behind Dan’s desire for the Uzumaki princess. It was not as if he lacked women, as he had thirteen wives, all of whom were extremely beautiful, but he felt that the reason he desired the Uzumaki girl was simply connected to his origins as someone from another world.

So, for now, Mito Uzumaki seemed attractive to him, even though in the original story she had been destined to be with Hashirama. But now, after all these changes, her fate had changed as well.

Dan also had another reason. He wanted to become connected to a major character in the story of this world, someone who belonged to a clan with unique blood. In truth, he liked the Uzumaki clan, and even if he did not obtain their princess, he intended to save them from extinction in the future.

If it were not for the many changes that had occurred to the events he knew because of him, such as Hashirama Senju becoming connected to one of his granddaughters instead of Mito Uzumaki, he would not have taken this step, because he preferred to respect the original course of the story and only change it when there was a strong reason to do so.

But since Hashirama would now become connected to someone else, and since Mito had become available, he could have her without ruining anything. In return, he would protect the Uzumaki clan from their future fate of extinction and the scattering of its members.
