CHAPTER 37: Gonna beat the shit out of you (II)
[Hayato’s POV]
Everything has been messed up ever since we arrived here.
I closed my eyes when the fog swallowed me and when I opened them I was here.
In a courtroom, I have attended a few fog events and so I have studied the etiquette required for such events.
But as far as I remember, in none of the events did I posses another body.
I kept quiet and decided to observe. The king approached us and put his sword on the shoulder of each of us once, the touch of cold metal confirmed that this wasn’t an illusion.
I moved my eyes to see my partner for the crime, the ones he called Daniel. He was a young and healthy man with long black hair and emerald eyes.
Daniel had a frown, the kind when one is confused. I felt a flicker of hope, if I had been given a role of ambassador then maybe Arin too.
When both of us walked out of the courtroom I decided to gamble on this possibility.
“Arin, is it you?”
Daniel’s eyes widened and he looked at me.
“Hayato-san?” he said, his voice deep and clear.
I took a deep breath, relief spreading in my heart.
‘If Arin has also possessed a different body, then maybe others too…’ I assumed.
.
“My lord please make sure to succeed, My daughter in law only gets to eat once in two days” said the old butler.
It was the same everywhere, as an ambassador we had to make sure that we design such policies and do negotiation in such a way that the normal people of both sides can live peacefully without the either losing face.
I saw Arin who didn’t dare look back.
‘He is a kid after all’ I thought.
I rubbed his shoulder to calm him down but as a senior it was also my duty to teach him and this was a very good example.
“This is a part of responsibility you will one day have to shoulder. Learn from it” I said.
He nodded, his hands gripping his robe tighter.
We departed.
.
SPLURT…
I stabbed the unsheathed sword I had hidden under my blanket into the heart of the man who had his sword raised.
He fell his eyes still wide open in shock. Blood flowed like a tap from his chest.
My hands trembled.
BLARGHHHHH
I vomited my vision blurring as my mouth filled with a sour taste.
Arin had already communicated the danger to us through drawings on the ground while having dinner.
“If he hadn’t told us we would be the ones in their place” I whispered to myself.
After that we were too wide awake to rest again so we decided to depart.
Arin closed his eyes and as the time passed I realized he fell asleep.
I too managed to catch a couple of naps in the meantime.
One thing I noticed was that when the bandit was about to attack Arin, he simply raised his hand and the bandit died as if Arin had stabbed him with and invisible sword or spear.
“What was that?” I pondered.
I didn’t ask him since everyone had their secrets.
.
.
I saw big walls at some distance, that means we had arrived at Vaeldor Principality according to the map.
As the principality neared, sunlight began to vanish and sky began to darken with clouds.
Air became chilled and blew every couple of seconds. The ground smelled of rain.
Arin descended and showed them the necessary documents.
The more I watched his interaction the more my chest swelled.
‘He would make one fine Ambassador’ I thought.
Rain started again and I listened how the guard complained and the other mocking him by saying Vaeldor Principality as The Residence of god of Rain.
It may have been a joke but I remembered it as my experience urged me to store that little detail.
One more thing I observed was that there were no designs.
Neither in the Parshara kingdom nor here in principality, as if the concept of art and design didn’t exist here.
I told Arin “Did you see? All the building and even the walls are plain, no design, no art nothing” He nodded in agreement.
We decided to rest as the younger guard requested Arin.
.
.
The principality of Vaeldor according to the map was situated in the North, just above Aurorian Empire in the continent of Eldoris.
On the left North corner there was Frostgate hold. We stopped in front of an inn, which was not big but enough to do the magic for the day.
“Still no design” I looked at all the shops and buildings which were made in such a way that maximized usability and made no effort to look good.
We went inside and Arin stepped forward to do the registration work.
THWACK CRASHH!
A young man with a thick and bulky build walked inside.
He talked to the lady behind the counter and then began to drag her.
Until.
“SHE SAYS SHE DOESN’T WANT TO GO” Arin grabbed the wrist of the man.
The air became heavier, the bulky man’s eyes narrowed and he grabbed Arin’s collar.
.
SHING!
The senior knight beside me grabbed the hilt of his sword unsheathing it a bit.
I stopped him.
“We are in another country right now, if you used a sword now, it will become a big trouble for us” I said.
“But-“ he tried to argue.
“Don’t worry-” I continued looking forward “ I believe in him, if he is taking the trouble then he must also know how to get out of it by his own.” I said.
.
.
.
The bulky man let go of hand of the woman. The woman fell down on the floor.
FWISH!
The man threw a punch at Arin.
Arin grabbed his arm which had grabbed his collar and jumped locking his arm with his whole body.
His legs locking on the man’s neck, and then began to apply force through his whole body.
The bulky man began to tremble “Ugghh” trying hard to keep his arm straight and not bend in the wrong direction.
But Arin instead of brute forcing the arm turned it anti-clockwise with a jerk and-
CRUNCH!
“AAAAAARGHHHHHHHHHH” with a crunch the arm of the bulky man twisted a whole three hundred and sixty degrees along with Arin.
‘What moves are that?’ I observed.
Arin jumped off the arm of that bulky man and delivered a knee to the nose of the bulky man whose defense dissolved completely.
CRACK!!
“Khgggh urgggg” his nose broke.
But the bulky didn’t stop, instead he tried to catch Arin with his other hand.
Arin avoided his hand and instead delivered a horse kick on his knee.
“AAHHHH” the bulky man’s balance collapsed, at that instant.
Arin kept his foot on the roof of the foot of the bulky man.
Grabbed his good hand and performed a shoulder throw.
THUD!!
The bulky man fell hard on the floor becoming unconscious.
“………..”
“………..”
“………..”
Everyone present there were shocked.
Arin had just incapacitated a man twice his size.
“Bullying a cute girl in front of me? Not happening” Arin said at last.
