Chapter 125: I want the rabbit girl
The stern servant, Zardar, turned to his master Cain and said in a low, cautious tone: "Lord Duke... We need to move to a quieter, more secluded place to talk."
Cain looked at his stern servant with sharp eyes, then nodded in understanding without uttering a word. Cain followed his servant through the palace’s wide corridors, moving away from the guests and guards he had just brought from the other world, whom the rest of the palace servants were already systematically guiding toward the designated guest suites.
In an empty, deep hallway within the inner layers of the palace, Cain and Zardar came to a halt, standing face to face. Zardar breathed in slowly, gathering his thoughts, before speaking in a low voice laced with awkwardness and hesitation:
"Master Cain, I am deeply sorry once again for interrupting your valuable and urgent time... but this matter cannot be delayed."
The servant did not know how to phrase the issue due to the sheer strangeness and complexity of the events, but he continued immediately when he noticed Cain’s sharp, inquiring gaze fixed upon him:
"In truth... Little Miss Amelia caused a massive problem during your absence! Your esteemed sister traveled to the Celestial Continent... and it seems that during her tour there, she discovered your secret organization, the ’Transmigrators’! Not stopping at that, she sent an urgent, strongly worded message to all your estates and branches of the organization scattered across the continent. The message states that as soon as you are seen or return, you must be informed immediately that Miss Amelia has taken in a strange boy named Albert along with his little sister in one of our luxury palaces, where they are to live under her personal protection!"
Cain’s features tightened instantly, his cold gaze shifting into an explosive mix of bewilderment and anger as he demanded in a sharp voice:
"Is Amelia alright?! Who is this strange boy in the first place?! What is his connection to Amelia, and why did she dare bring him into one of our palaces without my permission?! Where are the boy’s parents and relatives?!"
Zardar replied quickly to calm the anxiety of his master, knowing how deeply he feared for his young daughter:
"Lord Duke... The matter is not as simple or ordinary as it sounds. This boy is by no means an ordinary human... He belongs to a miraculous and extremely rare bloodline—he is roughly half-human... and half-Celestial Dragon!"
Cain’s brows furrowed deeply, and he raised his palm to his face upon hearing his servant’s words... Half-Celestial Dragon!
It was not that Celestial Dragons surprised him with their existence or power... but rather that the "Half-Dragon" bloodline—specifically Celestial Dragons—was considered one of the rarest bloodlines in all dimensions of existence!
This was because those dragons were the most arrogant and prideful creatures in existence; that blind arrogance and false pride were the main reason their bloodline failed to evolve despite their immense power, as they believed themselves to be supreme beings who needed no evolution or intermingling with other races!
What astonished Cain and raised his curiosity even more was that most Half-Dragons usually resulted from crossbreeding with powerful magical races close to their level, such as Phoenixes or High Spirits... But for a boy and his little sister to be Half-Celestial Dragons descended from a human half was one of the rarest and stranger things Cain could ever witness in his lifetime!
Even though they belonged to the Celestial Continent—meaning they were classified as "High Humans" rather than ordinary "Children of Adam"—the fact that they were human made things complicated and difficult to comprehend.
Cain asked in a stern, decisive tone: "Most importantly right now... Is Amelia alright and unharmed? Isn’t she under the protection of the organization’s knights, as I strictly commanded before my departure?"
Zardar answered firmly: "My Lord... Miss Amelia is fine, in the best of health, and completely unharmed. However, the organization’s men witnessed a terrifying and unexpected scene. They saw this boy, Albert—who is only two years older than Miss Amelia—activating the ’Dragon Eyes’! Beside him, they found a murdered man lying on the ground, while the boy’s hands were stained with blood as he stared at his palms in shock and terror, with his little sister crying in panic beside him... Do not worry, My Lord. Our men intervened immediately, taking control of the situation, covering up the incident entirely, and hiding the evidence."
Cain felt as if matters were becoming increasingly mysterious and complicated in this direction... Who was this murdered man? And why would a young child commit murder in the first place? Surely a Half-Celestial Dragon would not rush to kill someone and stain his hands with blood without a compelling reason to do so!
Cain asked in a puzzled tone, breaking the silence: "Who is this man killed by the boy?"
The servant Zardar looked at Cain and answered immediately:
"The name of the murdered man is Vesper... he was the biological uncle of Albert and his sister. He was raising and taking care of them after the sudden disappearance of their parents. It is strongly believed that the parents passed away after two completely charred corpses matching the body details of the father, Hamphir, were previously found, though there remain some forensic doubts regarding the identity of the charred corpse."
Cain was shocked by this dark family plight... A thought crossed his mind regarding whether the father had been burned and killed by his wife, who was likely the original Celestial Dragon! This was very plausible in the higher realms, as crossbreeding relationships between humans and dragons were by no means peaceful or equal. Still, he wondered how a child of that age could acquire such brutality and kill his uncle himself!
Zardar added, clarifying the details: "I know what is on your mind, Lord Duke... Our investigators conducted a thorough, covert search into the matter, and it turned out the boy and his sister were being subjected to horrific forms of violence, persecution, and cruel torture by their uncle and his wife... We do not know in detail what transpired in the final moments before his death, but Miss Amelia insisted with her childlike chivalry on rescuing them, bringing them directly to our palace."
Cain sighed helplessly and closed his eyes for a few seconds... But since Amelia was safe and under the full protection of the organization, he figured he could return to finish things in Lucy’s human world and come back here in just two days, having finally settled the matter of the marriage certificate and freed himself from that hurdle!
Cain suddenly remembered something, letting out a faint smile as he asked slyly: "Oh, right, Zardar... What was Roselina’s reaction when she learned that I am the true master and founder of the ’Transmigrators Organization’?"
Zardar gave a subtle, meaningful smile, replying in a calm tone: "Oh... It is... extremely complicated and confusing, My Lord!"
After five minutes of extensive discussion... Cain vanished inside his dimensional portal, leaving the palace and its hallway behind, heading once more toward the other world to finish his tasks.
Meanwhile, Zardar stepped out of that quiet hallway, his hands folded neatly behind his back with immense dignity and poise.
As Zardar walked slowly down the luxurious corridor leading to the royal suites, he was surprised to find Nathan standing right in front of him, blocking his path!
Nathan’s chest heaved rapidly from intense nervousness and agitation, his head bowed low in deep embarrassment, trembling like a leaf... while beside him stood one of the palace servants assigned to escort him, smiling helplessly.
The assigned servant spoke apologetically to Zardar: "Master Zardar... I was trying to escort him to the guest suite you instructed me about via telepathy, but he adamantly refused to move, insisting on waiting to meet you immediately!"
Zardar cast a sharp, piercing look at Nathan standing before him, asking coldly and seriously: "What do you want from me, Mr. Nathan? And why are you delaying the servants’ work?"
Nathan opened his mouth, trying to speak, but the words stuck in his throat as if refusing to come out! He was breaking out in a cold sweat, attempting to muster his courage in a thoroughly amusing and embarrassing manner before the stern servant...
Nathan stammered in a low voice: "I... I... about... the bunny girl!"
Zardar’s stern expression instantly shifted, his brow raising in amazement and suppressed anger!
Nathan caught his breath one last time and added with a shamelessness wrapped in intense embarrassment: "That beautiful maid with the rabbit ears... I want her specifically to guide me and take me to my room!"
