Fast and Furious: I Control Everything

Chapter 285: Jane’s Change, The Three Meet Again

At noon, in a bar in New York.

By the time Perkins arrived, she saw Hunter with Jane in his arms, apparently talking about something.

Seeing the pair of lovebirds, she suddenly felt a sour wave rise in her chest and could not help snorting coldly.

"Hunter, you called me out here all of a sudden..."

"Just so I could watch you hook up with another woman?"

Perkins knew that Jane and Hunter had some kind of relationship.

After all, back when their group raided Hunter's farm, Jane had been with them.

And on the night Jane was captured, she had used the invitation to recruit Hunter into the Continental as a way to save her own life.

After Perkins left that night, Jane had not been released either, and apparently something pleasantly scandalous had happened after that.

Although Perkins had already figured out that the young, handsome, highly capable Asian man she had her eye on had messy relationships with many women, she did not really care.

Several of them were openly kept as long-term lovers.

Still, Perkins saw herself as different from those women who needed Hunter's protection and were kept like caged birds.

So while she did not have much malice toward Telly, Maggie, Slat, or Sloane, she certainly did not have much affection either.

But Jane, who belonged to the same assassin company as Perkins, was different.

In the assassin organization, Jane ranked above her and had better待遇 as well.

And Jane had known Hunter much longer than Perkins had.

There was too much overlap between them.

Because of that, Perkins had always felt a certain hostility toward Jane.

Jane raised an eyebrow, took a sip of the Bloody Mary in front of her, and did not fire back.

She had not really prepared herself psychologically either, and still did not know how to face Hunter.

Because she had failed to assassinate him, she had not been killed after the mission failed, but the punishment she received was unacceptable to Jane.

Against her will, she had been taken twice.

Although Jane's private life was fairly open, like most Western women, there was still a huge difference between consenting and non-consenting.

Even so, while she hated Hunter for it, she did not know why that was.

After returning to New York, she would often think of that handsome Asian man, the one who had failed to kill him three times, when the nights grew quiet.

She could not stop thinking about her own experience either.

The two times she had been taken, and the man's strength and endurance.

Deep in her mind, all kinds of complicated emotions kept growing.

Two or three months passed like that, and Jane found that not only had she failed to forget what happened before, but as time went on, she still could not help thinking about Hunter during the quietest nights.

Then her husband died.

When the bad news came, Jane felt sad and heartbroken, but not deeply so.

They had only been married for a few years, and because both of them were busy, they had not had any children.

They both traveled for work frequently and had their own messy private lives.

As a result, before her husband's accident, both Jane and John had already been thinking about divorce for some time.

In the end, they buried her husband quietly.

As a widow, Jane even spent some time at the U.S.-Mexico border and took the chance to kill dozens of men working for drug lords, which counted as revenge for the husband she was told had died in a cartel shootout.

But not long after, another message from her assassin company reached her.

Her late husband, who had been such a careless man that he even sometimes urinated on his shoes when he was older, had actually also been a professional assassin, and a top ace under one of her company's deadliest rivals.

What shocked Jane even more was that the man who killed her husband was a young Asian assassin.

When she saw the photo and dossier of that young Asian killer, Jane truly felt for one instant that God was toying with her fate.

The Asian man who had taken her twice had become an assassin and had killed her husband.

And while Jane was still thinking about how to deal with him, after all, she herself had tried several times to assassinate Hunter only to find she was no match for him, Hunter appeared in her world again.

Not only did he find her home, but when Jane instinctively drew her gun to try and deal with him again, she failed once more.

Then came another round of being taken, this time in Jane's own home, in the bedroom where she had once rested with her husband.

Over the next few days, they were like a couple in the middle of a quarrel but still deeply in love, unable to leave each other.

Besides cooking, eating, and washing up normally, it was just talking, talking, and more talking.

Then, a few days later, when that monster-like handsome Asian man told Jane he had something to do and had to leave for Las Vegas for a while, Jane suddenly realized that the past few days had been even more intoxicating than the honeymoon period she had once had after marrying her husband.

What surprised her even more was that the resentment she had once felt toward the young Asian assassin who killed her husband had completely vanished after a few days of interaction.

She even felt that she could not live without him anymore.

As for her late husband, John, Jane still felt guilty about him, but she truly had almost forgotten what he looked like.

And now, more than ten days after Hunter had left, he had returned to New York and come to her home again.

This time, surprisingly, Jane had become especially proactive because of their long separation.

Although she was starting to question herself and feel ashamed of what she was doing, Jane admitted that she might really be a selfish, bad woman.

Because she felt that she might already be in love with this Asian assassin beside her.

Young, handsome, strong-willed, and with a monstrous stamina.

No matter how she looked at it, he seemed like the ideal mate.

Thinking of that, Jane felt that maybe she should take the initiative and pick out a new diamond ring.

Perkins saw that Jane kept a calm, faint smile on her face and simply ignored her provocation.

She curled her lip, then looked at Hunter and said, "So, what did you call me out here for?"

"Don't tell me the two of you are getting married, and you wanted to send me an invitation."

That sounded pretty sour.

Perkins was a staunch believer in not getting married, and she was also a gold digger.

Money came first for her. Mansions, cars, watches, and luxury goods were what she truly wanted.

But that did not stop her from accepting the idea that Hunter could marry someone else.

Hunter immediately sensed that when Perkins said that, the silent killer wife beside him suddenly looked up at him.

In an instant, her eyes seemed to grow hot.
