Fast and Furious: I Control Everything

Chapter 271: A Lesson in Tuition

The warehouse had gotten so loud that the rest of Danny's crew eventually came over to see what was happening.

Ruben stared at the table, where only a little more than half the chips remained, and sweat was pouring down his forehead.

He wanted to accuse Hunter of cheating, but Hunter had done nothing more than stare at him the entire time, or brush a finger across the back of the card, sometimes barely tapping it as if he already knew what the hand was.

And the bodyguards standing near Hunter all shook their heads when Ruben looked at them.

Clearly, they had not seen Hunter cheat either.

Ruben finally realized that the handsome Asian man Danny had brought in really was a gambling expert.

He wanted to back down, but when he looked over, Danny was wearing a serious expression, as if fully absorbed in the game.

Rusty was equally expressionless, just standing there in his role as dealer.

As for Hunter, he kept staring at Ruben with those calm eyes.

That look irritated Ruben.

It made him feel as if Hunter were some lofty superior looking down at him.

As for the others, some saw what was going on but refused to speak up, while others simply did not understand his humiliation.

Ruben gritted his teeth and immediately called several numbers.

The game paused for twenty or thirty minutes. Before long, several men and women in dealer uniforms arrived.

Rusty was quickly replaced by a professional dealer, and he stepped aside without complaint, moving over to stand with Danny as a spectator.

"Looks like we really did bring in a serious player this time," Danny said quietly to Rusty.

Rusty nodded.

He was a professional gambler himself. He was better at cheating than anything else, but he still had an eye for people.

Hunter had not looked at his cards once, yet he always knew exactly what he had.

When Rusty had been dealing earlier, he had spent most of his time watching the handsome Asian man.

With his eye, it was obvious Hunter had not been cheating.

That left only one possible explanation.

Rusty suddenly remembered Hunter saying yesterday that he had an almost photographic memory.

In an instant, a terrible possibility occurred to him.

"Could this guy have memorized the order of the whole deck while I was shuffling?"

"Jesus. If that is true..."

"Ruben might not even beat him if he cheated."

Even after the new people arrived, Ruben did not back off. He kept playing for a while longer.

Soon, though, the chips in front of him were down to less than two million.

"You are not my opponent. Bring someone else in."

Hunter casually flipped over his hand and looked at Ruben.

Then he glanced at the dealer.

"I can memorize the entire deck order while you shuffle."

"So every card I receive, I know what it is without even looking."

"You have cheated three times. I caught you three times."

Hunter sat at the table, idly playing with a few ten-thousand-dollar chips in his hand.

What he said was half true and half not.

With his body already far beyond that of an ordinary adult male, his five senses were absurdly sharp, well past normal human limits.

So while the dealer's little sleight-of-hand tricks might have fooled everyone else, they could not fool him.

There were a few abilities in Danny's crew that Hunter really wanted.

One of them was Livingston Dell, a computer expert who could break into a casino's security system all by himself even if that system was protected by a full professional team.

His technical level might not be as high as Lyle's, but Hunter estimated he was at least Level 4 in that area.

Hunter's own computer-related skill was only Level 2 right now.

Since one person was already a whole team, of course he wanted to keep learning and get stronger.

Livingston Dell's computer skills were absolutely going on his list.

And Linus too.

Hunter was also very interested in his theft skills.

The reason he had refused to step back for Ruben and was now making such a scene was simple.

He had already seen that Danny and Rusty's promises from yesterday were probably not going to be fulfilled today.

So Hunter needed to make a statement in front of Danny's entire crew.

He had to show these Westerners that he was not someone to mess with.

Only then would the benefits they had promised him be delivered, whether they liked it or not.

Like a man with no expression at all, Hunter's face never changed.

He turned back to Ruben.

"I already said you can cheat all you want. Just do not get caught."

"But now your man got caught."

"You are a casino owner too."

"Now I want to break one of his hands. That should not be too much, right?"

Ruben's face darkened, and he was just about to explode when the young man across from him turned his right hand over.

In the gap between his fingers appeared a metal card, its edges sharpened to a lethal point.

Then Hunter flicked his wrist.

The card sliced through the tendon in the right hand of the dealer who had just helped Ruben cheat.

"Aaaah!"

Blood sprayed instantly. The dealer's face went white.

The entire warehouse erupted in uproar, and everyone's eyes on Hunter changed.

This was a ruthless man.

"You!"

Ruben was furious.

The dealer who had been injured was one of the best in his casino, a top-tier employee earning well over a million a year.

If he was ruined, then the next time Ruben ran into a gambling expert or wanted to pull money out of a wealthy table, things would get a lot harder.

Ruben's rage made his bodyguards rush forward.

Two guards standing near Hunter immediately reached out to grab him.

Too bad for them.

Hunter was faster.

He seized one of the arms reaching for him, and a vicious smile spread across his face.

Crack.

The arm snapped instantly.

With a sudden burst of force, Hunter lifted the burly man, who stood well over six foot one and weighed more than one hundred eighty pounds, and hurled him into the guard beside him.

Then, like a hunting cat, he lunged at the next guard, the one who had already drawn his gun.

Hunter's hand landed on the weapon and twisted.

Crack.

Another clean break.

He reached down to his waist, drew a combat knife in one smooth motion, and drove it hard into the man's other arm.

Then he shoved the screaming guard down and kicked the next bodyguard standing nearby.

Hunter held back a little of his strength, but the kick still sent the man flying six or seven meters.

When he landed, he was barely breathing and clearly badly injured.

Five.

Six.

Seven.

Eight.

Because Hunter and Perkins had already killed two casino moguls, Ruben had brought even more guards than before.

But eight bodyguards were still nowhere near enough to stop Hunter now.

In less than a minute, he took them all down, one after another, with almost no wasted motion.

Looking at the floor littered with groaning, bleeding men, Hunter held the bloodstained military knife and walked calmly up to Ruben.

"Is being alive really so bad that you had to go looking for trouble you could not handle?"

"I did not kill them, but they are all badly hurt. If they are taken to a hospital in time, they will live."

"Within one hour, I want to see that six million dollars."

"Consider that tuition."

"And let me remind you of something else."

"I have had an almost photographic memory since childhood."

"And gambling is not the only thing I can do."

"Why do you not try to guess whether I could pull off the kind of thing those men did in Las Vegas a few days ago?"

As Hunter dragged the bloodied military knife across Ruben's face, the old white man went pale as death.
