Marvel: The Silver-Haired Hacker and Her Mecha Fleet

Chapter 81 81: The Congressional Talk Show and the Osborn Invitation

Mira gave the math teacher a polite bow and returned to her seat under the watchful eyes of the entire AP Calculus class.

The moment she sat down, she split her consciousness. Her surface awareness stayed anchored in the classroom — pen in hand, eyes on the blackboard, taking notes like a model student. Meanwhile, her primary consciousness transformed into a stream of deep blue data, slipped through the walls, and shot across the network to Washington D.C.

She hacked into the live broadcast of the Congressional hearing without the slightest delay.

Inside the ornate Senate Armed Services Committee room, the atmosphere was thick with tension. A group of hostile senators, led by Senator Stern, sat across the long mahogany table. Their expressions made it clear they wanted to devour Tony Stark alive.

Tony, however, leaned back in his chair with complete ease, fiddling with a pair of designer sunglasses. His signature arrogant smile made him look less like a man facing a serious inquiry and more like the host of his own victory party.

Mira's digital consciousness hovered invisibly near the ceiling. Here it comes — the classic Iron Man 2 hearing.

"Mr. Stark," Senator Stern began in a grave tone, "we have convened this hearing to discuss the nationalization of Iron Man armor technology. We believe the armor should be considered government property and placed under military control rather than left in the hands of a single private citizen."

Tony's lazy smile faded. He sat up slightly. "Nationalization? Senator, are you asking me to hand over my own property to the state?"

"This is not a simple property issue," Stern replied, his face darkening. "The Iron Man armor is a weapon of mass destruction. Its existence poses a serious threat to national security and global stability."

"A threat?" Tony raised an eyebrow.

He tapped his Stark Industries tablet. The large screens in the room switched to classified military footage from around the world: North Korea's failed armor tests exploding, Iran's research base going up in flames, Russia's secret labs, and even the U.S. military's own disastrous attempts.

The entire Senate chamber erupted in chaos.

Senator Stern slammed his fist on the table. "Tony Stark! Turn those images off immediately!"

"I'm simply showing you the facts," Tony said, spreading his hands. "Even with a hundred years and unlimited funding, these countries couldn't replicate my armor. I've acted as a nuclear deterrent for the United States for an entire year. Instead of thanking me, you want to steal my technology?"

He leaned forward, his voice ringing with absolute confidence. "Let me make this clear: The Iron Man armor will never be nationalized. You want it? Maybe in your next life."

Mira nearly laughed out loud in the middle of class. Only Tony Stark could turn a Congressional hearing into his personal talk show and strip the entire Senate down in front of a live national broadcast.

She silently poked into the U.S. military's internal systems. Colonel Rhodes sat in the gallery behind Tony, face dark with despair, pinching the bridge of his nose as if he wanted to disappear.

Her data stream then drifted to the "expert witness" invited by Senator Stern — Justin Hammer.

The slick CEO was in full flow, bowing to the senators and loudly claiming that Hammer Industries had already mastered the core Iron Man technology and would soon mass-produce it for the military.

Mira rolled her digital eyes. You can't even handle Ivan Vanko in a few days, and you think you can copy the Arc Reactor?

She slipped into Hammer Industries' classified R&D database. As expected, their so-called breakthroughs were nothing but stolen, flawed Stark prototypes. The entire project was bleeding tens of billions in taxpayer money with zero results.

Complete idiot, she thought.

Just as Tony was mercilessly tearing apart both the senators and Justin Hammer, the school bell rang.

Mira's primary consciousness snapped back into her body. Her pen had just finished the last stroke of a chibi drawing in her notebook: Tony in the Iron Man helmet flipping off a chibi Senator Stern.

"Mira! What the heck are you drawing?!" Peter leaned over, eyes wide. "You're drawing Tony Stark in the middle of AP Calculus? And how do you already know what happened at the hearing? I was secretly watching it under my desk — he just destroyed Congress!"

Mira calmly closed her notebook. "I was watching the live stream on my Stark tablet. What did you think I was writing the whole time?"

Peter gave her a clear "I don't believe you" look, but before he could press further, Gwen turned around holding an official school notice.

"Stop talking about the hearing for a second," Gwen said with an excited smile. "The school just announced that our entire senior class is invited to Osborn Industries' Biotech Expo next week. Harry Osborn personally sent the VIP invitation. They've reserved an exclusive area just for Midtown High STEM students."

"Harry?!" Peter's eyes lit up instantly.

"Yeah, he's back in town," Gwen nodded happily. "The expo is showcasing their latest gene technologies and medical advancements. There's even talk of a major human enhancement project."

Mira raised an eyebrow. She knew exactly what that "epoch-making" project was — Norman Osborn's unstable Green Goblin serum. The same one that would eventually turn both father and son into monsters.

"An Osborn Industries expo sounds interesting," she said casually. Then, with a playful smirk, she added, "I suspect Hammer Industries will be hosting something similar soon."

"Hammer?" Peter looked confused. "Why would they do a public expo? They mostly deal in military weapons."

"Pure spite," Mira replied, pointing at Peter's hidden phone. "You just watched the hearing. Tony humiliated Justin Hammer in front of the entire country. A guy with that big an ego won't let it slide. Tony held a Stark Expo, so Hammer will want his own to show off his so-called 'Iron Man technology' and try to steal some military contracts."

Gwen laughed. "When you put it that way, it makes sense. Justin Hammer has always tried to one-up Tony."

Peter's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Then maybe the Hammer Expo will have real Iron Man armor on display! That would be so cool!"

Mira smiled mysteriously. Sure, nerd. Until Ivan Vanko shows up with a swarm of killer drones.

"You'll just have to wait and see," she said. "Hammer might have some explosive surprises ready."

The bell for the next class rang. Peter and Gwen quickly sat back down.

Mira rested her chin on her hand again, pretending to watch the teacher write formulas on the board. Her consciousness drifted back toward Washington D.C., where Tony was striding out of the chaotic Senate chamber with his usual arrogant swagger.
