Villain Extra: Rogue Reader

Chapter 92: Silenced

"You have a lot of nerve to assign your bodyguard to someone else." The [Redacted] student sneered coldly.

But they continued, "I guessed it’s only right that you wanted things to end quickly. Someone who dabbles in necromancy, you’re also a big villain."

"Please do not insult me." Ray suddenly said with utmost seriousness. "I am a big villain, but you are just a nobody. Worse than an extra, to say the least. I at least got a name, but you don’t even have one."

"BASTARD!"

The student was quickly enraged. "You refused to hear my name! Who says I don’t have a name?"

While they were speaking their dramatic line, Ray yawned softly. He was nearly bored out of his mind from the cringe display.

Why so hot-headed?

What was the point of raising your voice loudly?

Does that give you any power-up?

Sorry, but that was reserved for the protagonist who only needed to shout to amplify his power.

"Yup, even after all that shouting, you remain the same. A pathetic, pitiful person. It’s such a blessing that you have no name." Ray shook his head and offered his condolences.

"FUCK!" Needless to say, the student was infuriated. They gritted their teeth and unveiled multiple daggers from underneath their uniform.

SHINK! SHINK! SHINK!

He then swung those daggers toward Ray’s direction.

"My goodness! Did you pull those daggers up your butt or something?" Ray covered his nose and immediately teleported away to the far right side.

"I can’t believe you’re that unhygienic to throw something smeared with your foul smell. Are you trying to kill me with stinkiness? How devious of you!"

"..."

There was a limit to how much one should provoke their opponent.

"Screw yourself!" The student roared.

"Roaring again? What are you? A dinosaur?" Ray rolled his eyes. He then grabbed one of the daggers on the ground.

"Ugh, it really does stink like your terrible body odor."

"I’ll kill you!" They lost their rationality and kicked the ground hard. The momentum instantly propelled them forward to him.

’Heh, too easy.’ Ray sneered inwardly.

Without hesitation, he also blinked away from his position. But unlike the previous attempts, he didn’t teleport to the side or behind. Instead, he teleported in front of the student and coated the dagger with Rend.

"Good night, no-name character." His eyes glinted in a cold light as he made the diagonal slash.

"What?"

The student was in utter disbelief. They glanced at Ray in confusion at their sudden move.

’Why is my body standing there? Where’s the head?’ That was the last thought in their mind as his sliced head rolled on the ground.

Coincidentally, the head landed next to the guards’ corpses, completely bowed. It was almost as if he was forced to pay his respects to the deceased and apologize for his sin.

Ray was unsympathetic to their death.

Was the scene a shocker?

Yes!

Was he also shocked and somewhat scared?

Absolutely!

However, the world he was in wouldn’t allow him to show any weaknesses.

As a rogue reader, he knew very well just how pathetically one appeared if they acted emotional or went on a spectrum that they had killed someone.

This wasn’t even his first kill either, and he was positive that he would be forced into such a situation in the future.

It was better to get used to this feeling because they weren’t innocent.

Such was the ironclad law in this world, unlike the so-called pathetic laws in his old world where criminals got away scot-free while the actual victims who were forced to commit the crime got punished instead because law enforcement was of no use.

A crooked perspective?

Maybe, but he had read too many tragedies in the news because of such a flawed and terrible judicial system.

He took a deep breath and glanced at the opposite side.

Belva and Lancelot had suppressed the other student, but for some reason, they failed to get them whatsoever.

"What are you waiting for, Belva?" He called out when he noticed she wasn’t using lethal moves. She was actually trying to restrain him instead of killing them on the spot.

"There’s something abnormal with his abilities. I wanted to restrain him to confirm it." Belva explained. She knew that her inaction might have displeased him, but there was something amiss with her.

"Lancelot!" Annoyed, Ray ordered the knight to drop the long black sword and to use his arms to snuggle the student.

When their opponent realized the intention and his companion had fallen, he knew he was next.

"Hmph, want information from me?"

They laughed sinisterly and glanced at the ceiling.

"All hail—"

They were just about to give their final prayers, but Ray had other plans. He kicked the dagger that he had dropped on the floor and directed it toward the student.

SHINK!

It was a perfect goal!!!

The student’s neck vocal cord was slit, rendering them incapable of even finishing their prayers.

"Lancelot!" Ray ignored their agonized expression and ordered the knight to put him down.

"Open his mouth wide too so he can’t bite his tongue to die." He continued.

"Belva, restrict his mana usage too so he can’t self-detonate. I want to see what other tricks they have to silence themselves."

The devil... the villain...

The poor student whose vocal cords had been damaged and who was living on a thin line stared at him in horror.

They were evil, alright.

But when compared to his ruthless method, they were mere toddlers in front of Ray.

Even Belva was taken aback by Ray’s proficiency in preventing their opponent from ending their own life.

’I’ve seen this type of troupe too many times. The dumb protagonist never knew to wake up and shut them up completely.’ Ray sneered inwardly.

"Oh, keep in mind that they might have a silenced spell orchestrated by the mastermind that would trigger immediately if they wanted to divulge some secret." He suddenly remembered another trick and reminded Belva to tread very carefully.

"Yes, Young Master!" Belva nodded and began drawing a few runes.
