Chapter 47- Evolution of Eternal Flame.
The notification chime echoed sharply in Leo’s mind.
[PANDEMONIUM DETECTED]
[Detected three flames from the same pantheon.]
The three flames that the eternal flame had assimilated suddenly turned incompatible. They began to clash violently inside him.
Surtr’s flame surged into a rampage once more, burning through his core and trying to destroy the very body that contained it. At the same time, Eldhrimnir’s flame pushed forward, mending the damage caused by Surtr’s destructive energy and sword-like force. Logi’s flame lashed out with insatiable hunger, consuming energy from the other two while also draining Leo’s own reserves.
The three flames turned against one another in full force.
Surtr’s flame sought to destroy the others, Logi’s tried to devour everything in its path, and Eldhrimnir’s worked to assimilate and renew what remained.
Pain exploded through Leo’s body.
He collapsed hard onto the cavern floor, face planting against the ground.
His body had become a battlefield.
Each flame fought for dominance, tearing at his insides without mercy.

[PANDEMONIUM DETECTED]
[Three flames from the same pantheon detected within host]
[Conflict: Eldhrimnir (Renewal) vs Logi (Consumption) vs Surtr (Destruction)]
[Host body integrity: 72%... 68%... 64%...]
[Warning: Complete internal destruction in 60 seconds]
Leo’s spiritual integrity, which had only recently begun to recover and strengthen, now plummeted rapidly.
He gritted his teeth against the agony.
What the hell... not again...
"Ahhhh!" he screamed as the flames continued their war within his body.
Leo reached desperately for the eternal flame—his original flame, the one that had started everything by assimilating the other flame.
He could not access it. The eternal flame lay buried deep beneath the violent clash of the three other flames, completely drowned out by their struggle.
In that moment of desperation, four words surfaced clearly in his mind:
"Creation. Renewal. Consumption. Destruction."
A familiar memory followed right after.
He remembered Surtr’s final moments. The giant was kneeling amid the ashes, staring up at the empty sky, and asked one question:
"Why must I destroy?"
The memory struck a chord. Leo felt like he had found the answer.
Why destroy?
His eyes lit up.
They aren’t enemies. They don’t need to destroy one another.
They did not have to fight for dominance. It was a cycle.
The cycle of Creation. Renewal. Consumption. Destruction.
The moment the realization hit him, the struggling flames paused.

[Primordial Trinity Synergy Detected]
[Three aspects of the same pantheon recognizing each other]
[Harmonization: 10%... 25%... 40%...]
New notifications appeared. The flames began to move again, but this time they no longer fought. Instead, they complemented one another.
Eldhrimnir’s warm renewal wrapped around Surtr’s sharp edge of destruction, softening its impact. Logi’s hunger fed on the excess energy released during their clashes, channeling it productively rather than letting it dissipate. Surtr’s annihilation cleared away corrupted or weakened remnants, creating space for renewal and new growth.
’Creation feeds renewal. Renewal enables consumption. Consumption clears the way for destruction. Destruction makes room for creation.’
The cycle felt complete and balanced.

[TRUE MERGER INITIATED]
[Eternal Flame + Eldhrimnir + Logi + Surtr has become a single entity]
[All four flames unified into one]
[Evolution: Rare+ → EPIC]
[New Skill Unlocked: TRINITY FORGE]
Leo felt his body stabilize. His integrity and HP began recovering steadily.
A brilliant light erupted from within him—gold, white, and black. Flames spiraled outward from his chest, punching through the cavern ceiling in a tall tricolored pillar that lit up the dark space around him.
When the light finally faded, Leo knelt at the center of the pillar, breathing heavily. His veins still glowed faintly, but the colors no longer battled for control.
Gold threads ran through his skin like living circuitry, interwoven with subtle green and white accents.
He summoned the eternal flame. It was no longer purely golden.
The core remained mostly gold but now featured white edges and a dark center that pulsed with controlled power.

Leo read through the entire notification twice to confirm the details.
Epic rank.
This was only the second Epic-rank item or ability he had encountered. The eternal flame had received a massive upgrade. The fire damage boost alone reached 70 percent, with an additional 100 percent increase when using sword-type weapons.
For the first time in a while, he felt truly powerful—like he could take on almost any opponent in direct combat.
"It almost feels like the three flames were never meant to exist separately," Surtr’s voice rumbled in Leo’s mind.
Leo nearly jumped in shock. "You can speak into my mind?"
"Of course I can. I am bound to you. Idiot," Surtr replied bluntly.
The ancient flame continued. "Destruction without creation is nihilism. Creation without destruction is stagnation. You have achieved the perfect balance."
Leo considered the words carefully. They carried real weight coming from such an old and powerful entity.
He nodded slowly, as if absorbing the full meaning.
The flames expression within him seemed to twitch in mild amusement at his response, but Leo ignored it and focused on recovering.
He dragged his exhausted body out of the cavern and made his way back toward Asgard.
By the time he arrived, night had fallen. It was the end of the fifth day. Only two days remained before he would need to face the entity sealed within Mjolnir.
"Fuck this necklace," he muttered, touching the item around his neck.
It had inter-dimensional teleportation capabilities, but they only worked when he was outside the current dimension. It had been useless during his time trapped in the cavern.
When he reached the gate to the royal wing, Freya was already waiting. Her arms were crossed and her expression looked irritated. He had forgotten to inform her about his solo expedition.
She stood at the entrance, her icy gaze scanning him from head to toe.
But as soon as she sensed his changed aura, her face shifted—from annoyance to surprise, then confusion, and finally something close to recognition.
"Your aura feels different," she said. "Stronger."
"Yeah, I upgraded my Eternal Flame," Leo replied. "I gained a big boost in strength overall, but I still can’t compare to you, Princess."
Freya’s eyes widened slightly. "What happened out there?"
Before he could respond, she raised a hand. "It’s okay. You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to."
She studied him for another moment. "You look like you’re about to pass out. Go freshen up, eat something, and rest for the night."
With that, she turned and walked away.
Leo followed her advice exactly. He cleaned himself up, ate a quick meal, and collapsed into bed. Sleep took him almost instantly, deep and heavy like a log.
The next morning, Leo woke at dawn.
His body felt mostly renewed, though a lingering weakness remained in his limbs.
He checked his status window and saw that his spiritual integrity, which had previously reached 160 percent, now sat at only 92 percent.
Two days left until he attempted to repair the hammer. The pressure of limited time pushed him into action.
He left his room quickly and went to find Freya. She was in the great hall, reviewing scrolls handed to her by the guard captain. The sound of Leo’s hurried footsteps made her look up.
"You’re up early," she noted.
Leo nodded and got straight to business. "I was wondering if I could study all the rune steles that Asgard has here in the palace."
Freya paused. Her eyes sharpened as she looked at him. "These runes are the foundation of Asgard. Not just any one is allowed to look at them, and they definitely are not something you can fully study in a single day."
"You don’t have to worry about that," Leo said. "I’m not trying to master everything. I just want to examine each stele. If I find anything that might help with repairing the hammer, I’ll study those parts more carefully."
Freya watched him for a long moment, judging his seriousness.
Finally, she nodded. "Follow me."
They soon arrived at a large hall that resembled the royal archive.
Inside stood hundreds of stone steles arranged like pillars across the chamber, reminiscent of monuments in an ancient graveyard.
Each one was carved with intricate runes that pulsed with faint light—some glowing blue, others red, and some dark.
The combined energy in the room created a chaotic hum. The air itself vibrated with old, powerful magic radiating from the collection.
Freya led him to the center of the chamber. "These are all the sacred steles. Every rune we have encountered across the nine realms is represented here. Normally, only high-ranking Asgardians or members of the royal family are allowed inside. I am vouching for you this time, so make sure you do not damage anything."
Leo nodded repeatedly, his expression serious. "I understand."
Freya gave him a brief introduction to the layout and a few additional cautions before leaving the room.
Once he was certain she had gone, Leo did not begin walking from stele to stele.
Instead, he sat cross-legged in the center of the hall.
He closed his eyes, extended his senses to their maximum limit, and activated his ability.
