Marvel: Sign-In System – Starting with the Glint-Glint Fruit

Chapter 200: Wanda and Her Chaos Magic

What was strange, however, was that across the vast majority of universes, this ill-fated girl — sacred by birth — would invariably be driven to darkness through one harrowing experience or another.

Matthew's main universe was no different.

If the Sacred Timeline had not changed, this girl would eventually lose her mind. And when she did, she would set off a crisis that rippled across the entire multiverse.

She was supposed to have a happy family. Instead, war tore that away from her, and at ten years old she and her surviving twin brother Pietro huddled under a bed, eyes fixed on an unexploded missile that had crashed into the floor right in front of them — a missile stamped with the Stark Industries logo.

It appeared to be a dud. But the truth was something else entirely: on the razor's edge between life and death, Wanda had suffered a profound mental shock — and in that moment, she rewrote reality itself.

Yes. This girl could rewrite reality.

She could use this ability to easily alter reality—transforming matter, modifying cause and effect, creating things out of thin air, twisting space and time, creating clones, creating dimensions, changing the laws of physics, and much more.

To put it simply, it was the power of I think, therefore it happens. She could do whatever she wanted.

The most terrifying and classic example was when Wanda mentally collapsed after losing her children and directly rewrote the reality of the entire Earth.

With a single line—"No more mutants"—she permanently erased the X-gene of 99% of mutants across the world. Only 198 mutants survived, and only by sheer luck. Reality itself had been permanently altered, and the change was irreversible.

In essence, Wanda at that time still was not strong enough.

If she had been strong enough, that one sentence would have completely erased them all, instead of leaving 198 behind.

When it came to potential, Wanda's potential was the most exaggerated on Earth.

In most cases, she grew wildly on her own, yet ultimately reached an astonishing height.

If she could receive systematic learning and growth, what level she could reach was simply unimaginable.

Quicksilver was the same.

The Marvel version of the Flash. Although he did not have something as absurd as the Speed Force, his high-speed movement ability was still just as exaggerated.

It was only that most of the time, due to various reasons, these people's ability development and growth were delayed.

And coincidentally, what Matthew was best at was rewriting these people's fates.

His collecting obsession had become addictive.

Aside from the Wanda twins, Sokovia also had Zemo. He was also a talent.

As an ordinary person, what Matthew valued in Zemo was that he was an accomplished strategist and leader.

In many ways, he also had patriotic feelings, as well as loyalty to his family.

Because of the deaths of his wife and child, as an ordinary person, he single-handedly directed the Avengers' internal war and split them apart.

For tiny Sokovia to give birth to three talents like this was already enough for Matthew to set his eyes on it.

As for things like scarce resources, Matthew did not care at all. He only needed a suitable territory. Forget Sokovia, even if it were the Sahara Desert, as long as he needed it, Matthew could develop it all the same.

As long as one was willing to spend time and effort, and had technology and people, even a hellish place like Hell could be built into a metropolis.

Besides, Matthew did not lack those resources.

Supporting a small Sokovia was more than enough.

However, this operation was different from those before.

Matthew wanted to occupy a political state, and this country had far too many parasites. The first among them was the true ruler entrenched in the country.

HYDRA, led by Baron Wolfgang von Strucker.

Baron Strucker was a scientist and one of the founders of HYDRA, as well as an important faction leader within the organization.

HYDRA did not only have Alexander Pierce. It was divided among many faction leaders.

And internally, they were not unified.

Strucker was one of them. These HYDRA factions did not interfere with one another, and their spheres of influence did not overlap.

They all knew very well that no matter how openly or secretly HYDRA factions fought among themselves, one of their most important principles was that they absolutely could not be exposed to the public.

So after so many years of development, things had remained fairly harmonious.

Many of them even had cooperative dealings.

The Sokovian government and the resistance army could only be described as puppets. Puppets developed by certain interest groups, all for the sake of openly stealing the country's resources and money.

To put it plainly, they raised black-gloved dogs to bite each other while they looted benefits from the middle.

Certain beacons of freedom were especially skilled at playing this trick.

Matthew did not care at all about these filthy matters of ideology and interest. To put it bluntly, even if he openly occupied Sokovia and founded a nation there now, every claw reaching into the country would have to obediently retract.

Otherwise, they would all be cut off.

Launch a war? As long as it was a human nation, it could not possibly win. If they tried economic or technological sanctions, Karla was not someone to be trifled with.

Their industries were spread all over the world.

If someone discovered them and wanted to play a normal business war, Karla could play along within the rules. But if they tried dirty tricks in the dark, then Karla would call in the Astartes and Raven.

In many areas, Matthew basically no longer had any weaknesses, nor would he be restrained from any direction.

After Matthew had laid out his strategic vision, Reacher, Karla, and the other higher-ups had already taken every possible concern into account.

Of course, Matthew still did not intend to expose himself that quickly.

First, they would purge Baron Strucker's HYDRA branch. Since he was about to found a nation and needed money for development, then naturally, he had to rob the rich.

…

Southern Siberian Plains — Base

By now, December had arrived.

After another day of brutal training ended, Domino finished dinner, took a shower, and sat on her bed to meditate.

She had already been separated from Christine, Angel, and the others.

After completing DNA matching simulation, Domino underwent the super-soldier gene serum injection process on the second day after arriving at the base.

The other ordinary people had finished their injections on the first day.

But Domino was a mutant, so she had to undergo an extremely precise DNA simulation match before enhancement could proceed.

After all, mutant genes and ordinary human genes were two completely different concepts. Mutant genes were far more complex, and even the organs and cells of many mutants were different.

So the super-soldier gene serum for ordinary people and mutants was somewhat different.

As for exactly how it was different, Domino did not know.

In any case, all she needed to know was that mutants could also be enhanced.

Domino had been very happy when she first learned this.

She was not only happy that she herself would be strengthened, but also happy about the meaning behind it.

Because before the serum injection, Instructor Roscoe had said that the serum could not only strengthen the body, but also amplify one's own abilities, including control.

After the injection, Domino personally felt it through active ability-use experiments and confirmed that it was indeed true.

Clearly, this meant that in the future, under BOSS, mutants and ordinary people would be no different.

They would not be separately defined as a race outside humanity.

As Instructor Roscoe had said, mutants were human too.
