Marvel: Sign-In System – Starting with the Glint-Glint Fruit

Chapter 178: Crawl Back to Your Hell

Inside the car, which had originally been empty, the five unconscious agents now sat asleep.

Judging from the smiles on their faces, they were bound to be having good dreams.

Matthew glanced at them and smiled faintly.

With his current level, even if he could not see a person's past and future, at the very least, many things could no longer be hidden from him.

He could tell these agents were decent people.

Compared with the parasites in the American government, these frontline personnel at the bottom had a stronger sense of responsibility.

Matthew had always appreciated people of decent character.

They should not die here like this, much less die in fear.

After finishing what he needed to do, he turned and looked toward the house in front of him.

The door, which had been tightly shut, was now wide open, as if inviting this uninvited guest inside.

Matthew did not stand on ceremony and walked straight in.

After passing through the entryway, the living room came into view.

The furniture and decorations in the living room were not much different from an ordinary family's home, only simpler. The lighting was dim yellow rather than bright, making the room feel even more oppressive.

There were two people in the living room, a mother and daughter. They were both sitting on the sofa, watching the old television in front of them, even though it was not turned on.

Even after Matthew walked in, the mother and daughter did not turn around.

Only when Matthew came closer did he clearly see their appearances.

The mother had dry, dark-brown hair mixed with gray. Large patches at the roots had already turned white, and it was casually tied into a loose, messy low bun.

Her body was thin and withered, her back slightly hunched. Her complexion was pale and sallow, almost bloodless, with sunken eyes and cloudy whites.

Although she had no expression, she gave off a gloomy, obsessive, and mad feeling.

The girl had soft, light chestnut hair, naturally curly and just as poorly cared for, messily draped over her shoulders. Her thick bangs covered her forehead.

Her figure was slender and weak, but her features were very beautiful. She had dark-brown eyes, and her skin was extremely pale, almost sickly white.

Her youth carried a timid fragility.

The girl's eyes were empty, and her lips trembled faintly. The atmosphere in the living room was extremely strange.

If an ordinary person saw this scene, they might have been so frightened that they would run out.

But Matthew saw something else.

The mother and daughter were locked in conflict.

The entire living room was filled with a complex and powerful energy. Two kinds of energy were maintaining a strange balance.

The mother's energy carried darkness and temptation, seeping bit by bit into the girl's power.

The girl was about to lose the struggle.

But Matthew could sense an extremely powerful force hidden within the girl's body.

And once it erupted, it would be far stronger than that little girl Needy.

Another half-demon, half-human hybrid.

Or rather, in her family history, there was a demonic ancestor.

Rumble!

A red light flashed through Matthew's eyes. A streak of red-black lightning exploded out of thin air, appearing and vanishing in an instant. A terrifying presence slowly spread outward from him as the center, twisting the air throughout the living room.

The entire house began to tremble faintly.

His arrival was about to shatter the strange balance that had existed until now.

The mother finally could no longer remain seated.

Like a rusted robot, she stiffly turned her head toward Matthew, revealing a chilling smile. Her voice was dry yet piercing.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Earth's next guardian."

"Lilith."

Matthew narrowed his eyes and spoke the name.

Not the woman's original name—Margaret.

"It is an honor. I did not expect you to know me."

Margaret, or rather Lilith, spoke as if she were very humble. But Matthew knew this kind of demon would never be humble toward anyone.

Greed and desire were their true colors.

Beneath her humble appearance was a terrifying killing intent.

Matthew had no interest in wasting words with her. His pupils turned red as an overwhelming will surged forward like a tidal wave, crashing toward Lilith.

His raging Conqueror's Haki was almost tangible.

But Matthew controlled it very well. He did not damage anything else in the house, directing it entirely at Lilith alone.

Matthew looked down, locking eyes with her.

"Earth is not a place you should come to. Either crawl back on your own, or die here."

His attitude was forceful and unquestionable.

"You cannot do this. She is my descendant. My blood flows in her body."

Hearing this, Lilith immediately cast aside all pretense and roared in fury.

As she screamed in anger, terrifying power spilled out, almost lifting the entire house.

However, Matthew had no intention of arguing with her at all.

Because he had long since seen through the bottomless nature of this demon.

Matthew stepped forward, reached out, and seized Lilith by the neck, lifting her from the sofa.

He paid no attention to her twisted, ugly face.

Rumble!

A pitch-black sheen covered his right hand, wrapped in terrifying black-red lightning that exploded outward. Along with his cold voice, she was thrown away.

"Your desire made her spend sixteen years in pain."

With that throw, Lilith's body flew backward. But instead of hitting a wall, she crashed into the air itself, shattering it like glass. A crisp sound rang out as cracks spread, and Lilith's body, wrapped in red-black lightning, sank into the air and disappeared.

The moment Lilith vanished, the girl who had been sitting on the sofa with empty eyes suddenly began gasping for breath.

Her chest rose and fell rapidly, and she could not stop coughing.

After coughing several times, the girl finally clutched her chest and looked at Matthew.

In those eyes filled with inferiority and timidity, gratitude and curiosity appeared.

"Th-thank you, sir."

The girl had never imagined that when she was at her most desperate and helpless, someone would come to save her.

In her eyes, this boy in a black windbreaker and round hat was like God appearing before a humble believer.

"You should not have been treated this way."

Matthew saw the kindness and gentleness hidden in this insecure girl's heart.

He also saw the pain and anger that had been suppressed deep inside her for more than ten years.

Matthew knew that when this girl's anger fully erupted, she would completely transform, activating the demonic bloodline hidden in her body and unleashing an unimaginable disaster.

Perhaps this entire area would be destroyed.

Lilith wanted the girl to transform, fall, and eventually become her hound and puppet.

She wanted the girl to become her representative walking on Earth.

Matthew naturally would not allow that to happen.

After offering a few quiet words of comfort, he turned his head slightly and glanced at Lilith, who was now raging inside the Mirror Dimension space where he had thrown her.

Then he looked back at the girl.

"She is no longer your mother."

"I know." After a moment of silence, the girl nodded. In her eyes was something that was hard to tell—sorrow, or perhaps relief.

"Then, do you want to witness the moment you become free?"

Matthew extended his hand, offering the girl an invitation.
