Chapter 86: It’s Not Easy Being Normal
"Gu Xiao Zhao!" Gu Xulin charged over with the animals and immediately saw the man standing beside Gu Zhao.
His eyebrows furrowed. This guy looked so damn familiar.
After a two-second pause, he remembered!
The poacher leader who tried to seduce his sister!!
Gu Xulin scrambled over, grabbed the leopard’s tail, and started pulling it aside.
Gu Zhao: ??
Leopard: !!!
’Xiangxiang’s brother! Be gentle! A little gentler! The tail is real!’
’Please let go of my all-natural, no-additives, no-preservatives, authentically flawed tail!’
"ROAR ROAR ROAR!" the leopard cried, utterly aggrieved.
’Let go of my tail! I can totally walk on my own!’
Gu Xulin was in no mood to care about the leopard’s poor, helpless tail. His mind was consumed with one thought: why was that poacher leader here?!
’Does he hold a grudge against Gu Zhao?!’
’Or have "they" already targeted Gu Zhao?!!’
Gu Xulin kept pulling the leopard’s tail, dragging it and Gu Zhao—who was on its back—behind him. His eyes, full of vigilance, were fixed on Feng Jiexu.
Feng Jiexu, however, showed no surprise. He lifted his chin slightly, his posture lazy and casual.
Feng Jiexu said, "Your brother doesn’t seem to like me very much."
Gu Zhao’s expression faltered, and she gave Feng Jiexu a particularly strange look.
’He seems to have zero self-awareness.’
"Prison food likes you. Why don’t you hurry up and go meet it in real life?" Not wanting Gu Zhao to have anything to do with the man, Gu Xulin cut him off, his eyes full of deep-seated caution.
Feng Jiexu didn’t speak, merely staring at Gu Zhao.
Gu Zhao looked at the sky, then the ground. ’Why is he looking at me like that? It’s like I’m some kind of unfaithful tramp.’
’I’m completely innocent!’
"Xiangxiang! What should we do with these monsters? We can’t kill them!" Big Eagle flew over, sounding incredulous.
’How can anything be this hard to kill?!’
The monsters: ’That which does not kill me... just keeps hitting me.’
Gu Zhao glanced around, and her gaze fell upon the natural, pollution-free fissure in the ground.
’Looks like a cozy graveyard.’
’It’s a far cry from the golden coffin her second brother owes her, but then again, she’s not the one moving in.’
"Brother, what do you say we bury these monsters alive?" Gu Zhao’s eyes gleamed with smug satisfaction. ’I’m such a clever girl!’
’Praise me!’
Feng Jiexu smiled. ’Just as I thought, this little lunatic is perfect for my crew!’
Gu Xulin’s mouth twitched...
’She’s a living King of Hell.’
"Okay..." ’Well, they’re harmful creatures anyway,’ he thought. ’May they rest in peace.’
[Saying "prison food likes you" is so savage! Gu Xulin has a real talent for comebacks.]
[Ahhhh, don’t tell me the poacher leader is really after our Monkey King! Gu Zhao is in danger!]
[Burying them alive is so Gu Zhao’s style! Simple, brutal, and eco-friendly (not).]
[The Monsters: "Oh, thank you, thank you so much! Because of you, my world is so much warmer..." (AS IF!)]
Gu Zhao had Big Eagle summon a few of the animals that had no monsters to catch and were just idly watching the show.
Gu Xulin was confused at first, but in the next second, he understood.
"Go and ’kindly’ invite the people on the savanna over," Gu Zhao instructed the animals.
The animals looked at the Hast eagles and Hua Baozi—the three of them could understand Xiangxiang’s language.
Little Eagle translated: "Go round up all the two-legs on the savanna!"
Hua Baozi: "Rob the two-legs."
Big Eagle remained silent for two seconds, choosing not to speak.
’Let them do the bad things, then Xiangxiang won’t like them anymore!’
’She’ll only like me~’
Watching the animals leave with ferocious energy, Gu Zhao remarked, "These animals are so earnest. They get so excited just from being given a job."
[Those animals look so pumped up with energy. If you didn’t know better, you’d think they were going out to rob someone.]
[Honestly, if the leopard was the one translating, I’d expect some... deviations. I still vividly remember it teaching ’baka yarou’.]
[Isn’t it dangerous to just bury these monsters here?]
[That’s not something we need to worry about. Once Gu Zhao and her group leave, specialists will definitely take over. All they’re doing now is ensuring their own safety.]
Gu Zhao then sent another group of animals to collect some vines or tough leaves.
This group of animals lacked the previous one’s energy; they left reluctantly.
Unaware that they were about to be "robbed," the explorers and show guests were busy admiring the beautiful scenery.
A vehicle drove across the savanna, with several people inside scanning the surroundings with binoculars.
"Isn’t this migration season? Why can’t I see any animals?" a woman asked, peering through her binoculars.
"It is a bit strange. I hope it’s not another poaching ring hunting rare animals," a man said with a frown.
They were part of a patrol team responsible for protecting the savanna’s rare animals, monitoring the ecosystem, and combating illegal poaching.
They had noticed the animals acting exceptionally strange over the past few days.
"Hey! There are animals over there!" the woman spotted them through her binoculars.
Then, a second later, "What the—why are the hyenas and wildebeests mixed together?"
"I think they’re coming for us!"
Soon, they discovered they could drop the "I think." They were surrounded by animals.
And then they were herded away by them...
Similar scenes were playing out wherever there were humans on the savanna.
The animals had gone mad.
This was what everyone was thinking. The animals were actually herding people like sheep!
Some bipedal animals were even "robbed."
...
Sitting on an elephant’s back, Zhong Siqi stared worriedly into the distance. ’I wonder if Zhaozhao and the others are safe.’
’Did Brother Lin find Zhaozhao?’
"Sigh..."
"Sigh..."
Two sighs sounded, followed by another after a few seconds.
After hearing who-knows-how-many-more sighs, Zhong Siqi couldn’t take it anymore and glared at the two little ones making the noise.
"Can you two be quiet for a minute?"
"Sigh," Zhong Mingrui sighed, his little face scrunched up, worry written all over it.
"Brother, you’re heartless! We eat Big King’s food, we sleep on Big King’s animals, and even little old me will belong to Big King in the future! How can you not let me sigh and worry for her?"
Zhong Mingrui stared at Zhong Siqi for a few seconds before letting out another sigh.
Zhong Siqi: ??
’Are you okay?! Are you okay?! Little brother is going to belong to Zhaozhao in the future?’
’Actually, I’d be willing to give him to her right now, but you didn’t even ask her brother.’
’He’d beat your butt until it’s swollen.’
Song Yi also sighed. "What if something happens to Big King... Will I have to be a child widower?"
Zhong Mingrui and Song Yi sighed in unison.
Zhong Siqi: ’Somebody save me!’
He looked over at Song Zhe, and a second later, he sighed too.
Song Zhe was currently fighting with himself. The reason was that he’d bitten his own tongue while talking, jumped up from the pain, lost his footing, and fallen off the elephant’s back.
If the elephant hadn’t noticed in time and cushioned his fall with its trunk, he’d be on permanent vacation by now.
Suddenly, he felt like he might be one of the few normal people left.
[Hahahaha, Zhong Mingrui, you’d better say that to Gu Xulin’s face, hahaha.]
[Song Yi: "Will I have to be a child widower?" I’m dying! What kind of weird drama scripts are running through this kid’s head?]
[Hahahahaha, Brother Qi is about to have a breakdown. Zhong Siqi: "Is there anyone normal in this family besides me?!"]
[Song Zhe: abubububu.]
The elephant suddenly grew alert and looked around.
Suddenly, many heads popped up all around, and a horde of animals surrounded them.
The elephant trumpeted uneasily a few times.
The other animals: "This is a robbery!"
