A blue-white pillar of light formed from coalesced lightning descended from the sky, precisely enveloping the Overwriting Insect.

Faced with a Miracle bombardment worth 38,000 Faith Value, even a Curse Insect with strong resistance couldn't withstand it. It was instantly struck by lightning and burned to black ash. Dark shadows emerged from the ashes and seeped into the ground.

It was only natural that the enemy was killed.

Fear usually comes from a lack of firepower.

Luh Yao knew very well that the battle wasn't just about what happened in the Abyss.

'It's just a Miracle dropped by one Curse Insect... there'll be more in the future.'

He first asked Selena if the Miracle Card had any side effects.

"My Lord, the Divine Bodies of Gods evolve Curse Eggs, and the prayers within them become the Gods' various abilities. After these abilities transform, they gain sentience and a will of their own, thus Hatching into Curse Insects."

"Curse Insects don't die. They are merely shattered, returning to their original form..."

When a Curse Insect dies, there's a certain chance it will drop loot.

The loot could be a [Magic Ability] or a [Miracle Ability]; it's somewhat random.

The Gods of the ninth layer and the Curse Insects of the tenth layer frequently hunt each other, precisely because each sees the other as important prey and a strategic resource.

After confirming there were no security risks, Luh Yao double-clicked the Orange Card.

A prompt immediately popped up in the simulator.

--Do you wish to integrate [Miracle: Rewrite] into your Fire of Faith?

[Yes]

A moment later, the card turned into a streak of orange light and vanished into the Faith column in the top-right corner.

Luh Yao immediately clicked on [Miracle].

Sure enough, [Rewrite] had been added after [Earthquake].

'Score!'

He tried aiming Rewrite at a grave mound on the ground.

The top-right corner displayed: Faith -1000.

Then, Luh Yao dragged his mouse and found that he could only expand the area of effect to half the screen's size at most. He finally selected a brand-new, green-glowing grave mound and placed the copy next to it. The two identical mounds now stood side-by-side. The only difference was that the rewritten copy had a countdown timer on it.

After 90 seconds, the rewritten grave mound vanished without a trace.

For his second experiment, Luh Yao selected a Blood Knight.

[Rewrite] enveloped the Blood Knight's head, and instantly: Faith -1830.

Blood Knight number two, with the name [Rewrite Body] above its head, appeared.

Luh Yao tried to control it with his mouse and found that the Rewrite Body was a monster unit. It could attack automatically or be controlled manually. The only flaw was that the Rewrite Body couldn't use abilities; it could only perform basic attacks.

Even so, Luh Yao was very satisfied.

'In future battles, I can just use [Rewrite] to give every Apostle a Clone Technique. As long as my Fire of Faith is sufficient, we'll have a fighting chance against any enemy.'

Having mastered the new Miracle, Luh Yao finally turned his attention back to the first layer of the Abyss.

Besides obtaining [Rewrite], Isabel had also created new Forest Elemental Creatures because of the [Forest Sword].

As soon as it appeared, an exclamation mark popped up over its head. Its body trembled as it raised its arms high.

"Don't kill me! Don't kill me!"

"I'm a child of a God!"

"I'm a refugee from the layer below, please don't kill me."

Luh Yao was completely bewildered.

'Could it be a superhuman? It's a pixelated little person, looking completely ordinary, yet there was no language barrier when it spoke.'

'How can there be humans in the Abyss?'

Luh Yao clicked on the little person.

Before this little clay person could say much more, a black monster shot out from the vortex in pursuit.

It looked like a black cockroach. Its name was displayed as [Curse-Sealed Monster LV18], but as soon as it appeared, Selena sliced it in two with a single sword strike, and it kicked the bucket on the spot.

An exclamation mark appeared over Bianye's head. "There are more insects behind me! Run, run!"

As if in response to his call, one [Curse-Sealed Monster] after another crawled out of the vortex, charging forward menacingly.

Selena transformed into a Moonlight Blade.

One monster after another was decapitated.

Before long, the ground was covered with the corpses of Curse-Sealed Monsters.

But strangely, the Curse Insects didn't remain on the Second Layer; they left quickly.

It was as if they had come only to hunt the God.

The Curse Insects left a giant cocoon on this layer. That cocoon constantly hatches Curse Seals, and it also places a Curse Seal on every one of the Clay People.

As time went on, the Curse Seals on the Clay Race would multiply until they covered their entire bodies. At that point, they would be hunted and eaten by the Curse-Sealed Monsters.

The Clay Race lost the protection of their God, their Faith collapsed, and they are struggling desperately to survive.

Bianye had fled all the way to the seal of the upper layer and, in his despair, had desperately squeezed through. The seal that had been unbreakable for years had somehow loosened, allowing him to reach the first layer.

Luh Yao fell into deep thought.

'Should I keep exploring downward?'

Bianye added, "Lord Star Sea's divine artifact is still on the Second Layer! It has a God's Curse on it, so the Curse Insects can't move it. Please help us remove the Curse Seals, and I'm willing to help you get the artifact! The Lord God would surely want someone to help Him get revenge!"

Luh Yao immediately decided to go and liberate the enslaved and farmed Clay Race of the Second Layer.
