A gray-white stone statue stood in the grassy valley.

It had a straight, symmetrical trunk, topped by a dense, pointed, conical crown, just like a petrified pine tree.

Luh Yao activated the [Eye of True Sight].

This Apprentice Deity, named [Pine Slipper God], had just descended upon the Pixel World.

Luh Yao found it strange.

The other party clearly had 2 Faith and 2 Believers, but there were no pixelated people to be seen anywhere nearby. Not only were there no people, but no other Extraordinary Creatures were gathering around the Divine Statue either.

'What exactly are its Believers?'

Luh Yao locked his view onto the Divine Statue.

The Pine Slipper God's initial Faith and population growth were extremely slow. After half an hour, these two stats had only reached 19. Yet, there were still no people to be seen anywhere.

Then Luh Yao saw the Apprentice Deity perform a Miracle.

A green band of light, like an aurora, appeared above the Divine Statue, and the green light drifted outwards in all directions.

Some of the surrounding trees visibly accelerated their growth, becoming taller and sturdier.

Luh Yao identified that the trees catalyzed by the green light were all pine trees, with conical crowns and branches just like the Divine Statue.

'Is this a Tree God?'

Luh Yao clicked around with his mouse and found that although these trees had grown larger, they were still ordinary plants with no data templates.

They were indeed just the most ordinary of pine trees.

Strangely, however, the Pine Slipper God's Divinity and Divine Body stats continued to grow slowly and steadily. This indicated that many new Believers had been born nearby, providing more Fire of Faith.

'How bizarre.'

Luh Yao moved his mouse, and after several attempts, he finally found the Pine Slipper God's Believers.

They were a type of small squirrel. They were tiny and almost completely hidden under the crowns and branches of the pine trees, which was why Luh Yao hadn't noticed them at all at first.

Philos also said, "Lord Yao God, there are squirrels in the valley, but they are all ordinary animals. The arrival of this foreign Divine Statue must have triggered some kind of reaction."

"It is said that the birth of a new God always causes some special changes."

The Pine Slipper Rats were the Believers born after the Pine Slipper God's arrival.

Luh Yao continued to observe the Divine Statue.

The Pine Slipper God was very quiet. It patiently waited for Faith to accumulate and for the squirrels to reproduce, then repeatedly performed its green light Miracle to create more and larger pine trees.

Gradually, the area around the Divine Statue turned into a dense pine forest, with large numbers of Pine Slipper Rats scurrying back and forth in the trees.

These little animals only did three things.

Eat pinecones, hide pinecones, and give birth to baby squirrels.

Their numbers expanded rapidly, causing the Pine Slipper God's Faith to reach 200 in less than an hour.

As hundreds of Pine Slipper Rats gathered, a change slowly began to occur.

The pinecones they planted grew exceptionally tall trunks and crowns under the God's Miracle, and this patch of pine forest towered over the rest of the valley.

This attracted the Fighting Shovel Armor.

As the hot-tempered bullies of the valley and Tree Catchers that loved to suck tree sap, they swarmed over the moment they saw such a tall and mighty forest with no Monster Strength Grass to stop them.

Faced with the powerful Extraordinary Strange Insects, the Pine Slipper Rats were helpless. They could only flee from one tree to another, watching as the Fighting Shovel Armor feasted heartily on the trees, using their mandibles to fell them.

Luh Yao looked at the Divine Statue.

'Its Believers are being bullied this badly. It should intervene now, right?'

The Pine Slipper God's Divine Statue did indeed respond. It created a kind of red mist. The red mist lingered among the pine trees and was quickly absorbed by the forest, causing the treetops to become a mix of red and green.

Then, the Fighting Shovel Armor that ate these Red Pine Trees began to turn red and grow listless one by one. They often lay on the ground shivering, as if they were having a stroke.

Over time, the Fighting Shovel Armor lost their appetite whenever they saw a Red Pine Tree.

The Pine Slipper Rats, however, were unaffected. They continued to eat pinecones and plant trees.

By modifying the pine trees in this way, the Pine Slipper God succeeded in repelling the invasive species.

But the Fighting Shovel Armor did not admit defeat. They felled one pine tree after another, retaliating by destroying the surrounding pine forest and leaving many Pine Slipper Rats homeless.

The Pine Slipper God performed another Miracle.

It released a blue light that caused the pine trees to produce blue pinecones. These pinecones, shaped like pagoda peaks with fish-scale-like surfaces, would immediately take root and sprout upon hitting the ground.

When the Fighting Shovel Armor entered the pine forest, if they were hit by a pinecone, it would take root on their carapaces and grow into a small pine tree.

Even if the Fighting Shovel Armor helped each other remove the small pine trees from their backs with their mandibles, it would cause immense pain. The roots of these blue pine trees were very long and would instantly burrow into their carapaces.

After this back-and-forth of offense and defense, the Fighting Shovel Armor learned their lesson and finally stayed away from the pine tree area.

With the God's help, the squirrels gradually gained a firm foothold.

The number of these small animals continued to increase. They built nests in the pine trees, planted more pine trees, and expanded their territory. This steady and solid approach continuously squeezed the territory of the Fighting Shovel Armor.

But the good times didn't last.

The squirrels stepped into the territory of the Monster Strength Grass.

The Monster Strength Grass didn't care if they were Fighting Shovel Armor or something else. They unleashed their full might on any pine trees that invaded their territory, punching and kicking, uprooting them one by one, and toppling them to the ground.

They taught the squirrels a harsh lesson, halting the rapid spread of the pine forest.

Faced with the Monster Strength Grass, the Pine Slipper God seemed to have no solution this time and offered no further response.

Luh Yao now had a general understanding.

The Pine Slipper God's Miracles were all carried out through pine trees. In other words, pine trees were its tools for transforming the environment and nature. And the squirrels, which relied on the pine trees, were its natural Believers.

Judging by its set of Miracles, the Pine Slipper God was a development-focused player.

In the past, when facing other Divine Players, Luh Yao favored lightning-fast attacks, taking them out before they could pose a threat. Later, after he had developed further, Luh Yao had slowly tried to communicate with them, but unfortunately, he was never very successful.

Now that he had finally encountered a new extraterrestrial player who had just arrived, he was very interested in this "seedling" and decided to focus on observation.

There was something else that caught Luh Yao's attention.

The [Forest Element] Attribute of the Pine Slipper Rat.

The [Golden Field] was a key part of Luh Yao's short-term goals. To get the next reward, or even to open this Main God Space, he had to cultivate a Forest Elemental Civilization.

Currently, the Forest Elemental Creatures had two main habitats.

One was the group in the forests of the Western Continent led by the Wandering Elves, which were Forest Elemental Creatures created by Isabel. The other was the Little Elves of the Southern New Continent.

Forest Elemental Creatures themselves depended on the forest. They were born as Extraordinary Life with extremely strong individual survival skills, so they had no urgent need to develop a civilization.

Luh Yao had once asked Isabel to push them in that direction, but when the Forest Elemental Creatures gathered together, it instead led to numerous conflicts.

The Forest Wolves and giant lizards constantly fought for dominance, the lynxes were always trying to hunt the Off-Road Rabbits, and the Wandering Elves spent most of their time just staring into space...

Now, with the appearance of the Pine Slipper God, perhaps a Forest Elemental Civilization could be developed using the squirrels.

To help the Pine Slipper God develop better, Luh Yao made a series of arrangements.

Philos would continue to act as an observer, recording and reporting on the squirrels' development at any time.

The Deep Sea Lord was moved to the nearby waters to ensure the stability of the surrounding sea, preventing any Cannibal Crabs or Little Fishmen from interfering.

The White God was dispatched to the valley to watch over the mountains on the border.

If necessary, he would help the squirrels overcome some developmental obstacles and could even provide some resources behind the scenes.

Luh Yao looked down at the Pine Slipper God's Divine Statue and cheered it on.
