Among his Apostles, Selena was the cold, strict type.

She would execute orders strictly, never doing anything extraneous as long as it didn’t affect her primary mission.

Philos, on the other hand, had self-awareness and personal judgment, allowing him to make adjustments and take initiative based on the situation. This wasn’t necessarily a bad thing.

A diverse group of Apostles was much better than having them all be automatons.

The most affected are wild beasts.

This is especially true for wild animals. They most easily absorb the Dark Sun Power and transform into Extraordinary Monsters with various abilities. After their beastification, they become exceptionally frenzied and ferocious, their aggression dialed to the max.

Next are the dogs and some carnivorous pets within the cities.

They too can sense the Dark Sun and are affected to varying degrees. Even docile livestock like sheep and Strutting Birds become restless and agitated under the Dark Sun’s light, unable to remain calm.

The human population, however, is difficult to generalize.

Some people are easily influenced by the Dark Sun, subsequently exhibiting signs of beastification. They become frenzied and Bloodthirsty in a short time, their cruel and violent nature amplified and unleashed.

But after the Dark Sun returns into the Sun, they revert to normal, with no memory of what they’ve done. When the next Dark Sun appears, these same people might turn into monsters again and continue to slaughter others.

This is what distinguishes humans from other creatures—it has a certain latent and hidden nature.

Finally, the Extraordinary Group is basically unaffected.

The Forest Elemental Creatures that Isabel raises in the forest are all perfectly normal. The same goes for the [Blazing Chickens] of the Eastern Continent; they do not mutate because of the Dark Sun’s appearance.

From a macroscopic perspective, the Dark Sun has two major impacts on the world’s ecosystem.

First, it has created a new group of Extraordinary Creatures.

Second, it has caused potential monsters to appear within the human population.

Luh Yao was surprised by Philos’s intelligence-gathering and analytical abilities.

’But then he reconsidered. Don’t let the Skeleton Man’s low level fool you. He used to work for Haili God, so he’s experienced. You could say he was poached to work for me.’

When it came to the job of an Apostle, Philos was a professional.

His value wasn’t apparent during routine combat. But in an uncertain situation like this, the Skeleton Man’s scouting and judgment abilities truly shone.

Luh Yao decided that he should make more use of this specialty of his in the future.

Philos had sketched out the silhouette of a world under the Dark Sun’s influence.

The Dark Sun was like the moon that causes Werewolves to transform; as soon as it appeared, it would create many monsters.

The most troublesome part was the human population.

After beastifying, they would return to normal, but when the Dark Sun arrived, they might fly into a rage again. Identifying these hidden threats was a difficult problem.

Just as Luh Yao was pondering a solution, the Pixel World suddenly grew dark.

Luh Yao moved his mouse and pulled the camera angle up high.

A massive black sphere appeared among the clouds.

It was pitch-black all over, but its edges shimmered with a halo of light, somewhat resembling a solar eclipse.

However, unlike a solar eclipse, the Dark Sun released wisps of black mist that spread in all directions, causing the brightness in the sky to dim even further.

Luh Yao clicked on the Dark Sun.

’"Unknown" again? Not gonna let me see, huh?’

’Well, I’m gonna look anyway.’

Luh Yao immediately dragged over the [True Sight Curse].

He stamped the inverted A onto the Dark Sun, consuming 500 Faith. The words [Unknown Power] quickly twisted and vanished, and a data panel appeared below.

Luh Yao pulled up a calculator.

At this rate of damage, Isabel would have to strike it 631 times to destroy the Dark Sun.

It would be over in about an hour.

Luh Yao took the honey pomelo tea that Xiaohuo had prepared. It was warm, sweet, and fragrant—the perfect thing to drink on a winter day.

He held the thermos, leaned back in his chair, and watched the screen.

Suddenly, Luh Yao noticed that the Dark Sun was moving.

It had been stationary before, but now, it began to fly westward.

Luh Yao sat up straight.

’This thing is trying to run away?’

’What kind of Miracle is this? It actually has self-awareness?’

Chased by Isabel on her Magic Staff, who was brandishing her Holy Sword, the Dark Sun fled while continuously spitting out red Damage Value numbers. Soon, it hid behind the Sun, and the [Dark Sun] entry disappeared completely.

Isabel lost her target.
