I Have a God Simulator

Chapter 132 - 127: Ancient God Curse LV99

The crossover belt wasn’t very large.

Starting from the optical distribution box at the entrance, the street twisted and curled its way up into the sky, spanning about one kilometer in length and twenty meters in width from end to end.

Isabel and Songx Shiyi walked slowly. They searched for traces of the missing citizens while enduring the incessant muttering of the Wish Spirit beside them.

Outside this area was a fog wall that was solid to the touch, impossible to pass through. The closer one got to the wall, the stronger the repulsive force became. It looked like it was only half a step away, yet it was utterly impassable.

Through Isabel’s eyes, Luh Yao once again observed the chaotic space of this crossover belt.

Overhead hung a bright, full moon.

Many dark shadows swam within the moon. They were like worms, burrowing back and forth in the moon’s glowing, cheese-like surface. Staring at it for too long was enough to make one feel sick.

The ground was also changing.

The stone steps under Isabel’s feet had been perfectly intact just a moment ago. But slowly, they began to crack and crumble into a pile of rubble. Stones continuously spat out from the fissures, as if something was hidden underground.

Luh Yao really didn’t want to stay in this strange place for long.

Just as he was about to suggest they retreat, he suddenly saw a woman on the side of the street.

Luh Yao was certain no one had been there before.

She looked to be in her thirties, with long hair, and was wearing a white fleece coat.

The woman seemed disoriented. She propped herself up with her arms, trying to stand. But her waist and legs were limp and weak; she couldn’t get up at all and kept falling over.

Finally, the woman collapsed to the ground and began to vomit.

"Don’t go over there."

Songx Shiyi said with a grim expression, "Her body is completely empty inside. She can’t be saved."

Isabel looked at the vomiting woman.

Her vomiting grew more violent, and the vomit itself turned into a black, viscous liquid. Then, a pitch-black Wish Spirit emerged from her back.

The Wish Spirit circled gently around her. The woman’s body began to break apart into countless small, uniformly-sized pieces, like a shattered jigsaw puzzle.

Piece by piece, they burrowed into the Wish Spirit, becoming part of its black body.

The woman vanished completely.

"She completed the Symbiosis with the Wish Spirit and they’ve merged into one," Songx Shiyi sighed.

"This is the final form of those who get lost here."

Luh Yao basically understood.

Wish Spirits fed on intruders from the outside world, but their hunting method was rather unique. They first use Word Spirit to paralyze and hypnotize their victims, then slowly turn them into a part of themselves.

Having finished its meal, the Wish Spirit flew up and vanished in an instant.

Songx Shiyi led Isabel in searching the area for a while longer. After confirming there were no other living survivors, the two left immediately.

Back in the normal world outside the optical distribution box, Songx Shiyi opened her travel bag and took out a roll of caution tape. She wrapped it around the box. The blue and white tape had the word "POLICE" written on it.

"Thank you for your assistance, Miss Mary."

Isabel asked her, "You could have done this alone. Why did you ask for me?"

"According to procedure, there must be a minimum of two people. My other colleagues all have their own important tasks and couldn’t get away, so I thought I’d ask for your help."

Songx Shiyi hesitated for a moment. "There’s another reason. I couldn’t find any other volunteers."

"..."

’Honest, at least.’

Luh Yao found the reason very believable.

’Two hours of work, tops, for a 1500 hourly wage! Score!’

’Making money is nothing to be ashamed of.’

In fact, Luh Yao had another motive for volunteering this time: to build a good relationship with Songx Shiyi.

Songx Shiyi was a prosecutor for the Committee, a reliable source of information. She followed the rules, which made her an excellent partner. Although her memory would be wiped, she would definitely file a report on the mission. This way, the name "Mary" would be on the record.

Treating someone was the simplest way to show goodwill.

So, under Luh Yao’s instruction, Isabel said, "Let me treat you to some milk tea."

"Oh? Okay."

Songx Shiyi readily agreed.

The two young women walked back through the night, not feeling the cold at all.

Along the way, they chatted idly. The conversation revolved around what had just happened in the crossover belt, so they had common ground and the discussion flowed easily.

Luh Yao proactively dropped some intel.

"The Wish Spirit’s ability is called the Eternal Wish Corridor? This is the first I’m hearing of it."

Judging by Songx Shiyi’s surprised expression, she wasn’t faking it.

"The Committee doesn’t know?"

"As far as my clearance level goes, there’s no information about this in the Committee’s database."

Songx Shiyi’s eyes widened slightly. "Miss Mary, you’re amazing!"

"I heard it from a friend."

"Miss Mary’s friend is amazing!"

"..."

Luh Yao stopped giving instructions, letting Isabel chat with Songx Shiyi on her own.

’There’s a big difference between men and women. Isabel can handle the small talk; it’s too awkward for me to act as the person inside the suit.’

He took on the role of a remote strategist and support.

Songx Shiyi took the initiative. "Miss Mary, what do you like to eat?"

"Anything’s fine. But if I had to pick a favorite, it would probably be instant noodles and fried eggs."

"I see. Well, I love pig intestines! All kinds of pig intestines! Braised, stewed, stir-fried... they’re all absolutely delicious. Do you like pig intestines?"

"I’ve never had them," Isabel said.

"I’ll have to treat you sometime! There’s a place with super delicious pig intestines." Songx Shiyi enthusiastically recommended the food, her eyes gleaming with excitement.

Luh Yao’s expression darkened as he listened.

’She’s supposed to be a girl-group idol, how can she be obsessed with something like pig intestines? Whether it’s the appearance or the taste, it has absolutely nothing to do with the image of a pink-themed idol!’

The two young women continued on, chatting about food and laughing from time to time. Half an hour ago, they were rescuing people in a crack between worlds, but now, they were no different from any other young people.

After walking for over half an hour, they found a 24-hour milk tea shop.

The clerk asked, "What flavor can I get for you two ladies? Large or small?"

Songx Shiyi said, "Matcha, small."

Isabel said, "The same for me."

"Okay, two small matchas. That’s 20 yuan. Will you be paying electronically or with cash?"

Isabel froze for a moment.

Luh Yao’s toes instantly curled in his shoes.

’Crap!’

’I forgot one important thing: Isabel doesn’t have any money.’

’I forgot to stick some cash in her pocket.’

’So much for treating her. This is awkward.’

Songx Shiyi seemed to understand immediately. She smiled and said, "Did you forget your phone? I’ll get it."

She easily defused the situation.

Luh Yao relaxed.

’Songx Shiyi is a good one. When it’s time to pay, she really steps up.’

Others might not know, but Luh Yao knew clearly.

Don’t be fooled by Isabel’s usual calm and restrained demeanor. She’s actually very thoughtful and has plenty of her own ideas.

Of course, the most extreme example of this was definitely Tyrant Selena, with her proud self-esteem and a stubbornness that wouldn’t allow her to lose to anyone...

Just then, a thought occurred to Luh Yao.

’I wonder what level of ’player’ Songx Shiyi is.’

’Let’s see.’

Luh Yao had Isabel activate [True Sight Curse] again.

Isabel had enough Life Value to spare now, which was more cost-effective than spending Faith.

As the inverted A-shaped Spell imprinted itself on her pupils, the layers of black runes surrounding Songx Shiyi shattered, revealing her detailed information.

This stat panel made Luh Yao’s scalp tingle. It took him a long while to recover.

’Songx Shiyi’s background... seems a bit too much.’

[True Sight Curse] utilized the Main God Level [Eye of True Sight], yet it couldn’t see through Songx Shiyi’s detailed stats.

The most likely reason was...

[Moon God] Songx Shiyi was a Main God in rank.
