I Have a God Simulator

Chapter 119 - 114: The Local God is Very Polite

Luh Yao picked up his cup and took a sip of hot tea.

The information from the White God was immense.

He needed to sort through it all.

First, there was the matter of the Divine Format.

The White God said the Divine Format was inside the rotting corpse of a dead Tree Person, deep beneath a trench in the sea.

’A Tree Person, under the sea, a Divine Format.’

This series of keywords immediately made Luh Yao think of the Forest God.

She was the one who had stripped out her Divine Format and hidden it under the sea.

’Thinking it over, it’s the only possibility.’

’What normal person would hide a Divine Format inside a Tree Person’s body? Besides, the fall of Apprentice Deities doesn’t produce a Divine Format. That was confirmed through previous combat experience.’

The White God said, "That Tree Person wasn’t actually completely dead. It was in a half-dead state, claiming to be a servant of the Forest God. It wanted me to follow the Forest God."

"The Forest God fell long ago... so I ate the Tree Person."

’Confirmed.’

This was the Divine Format left behind by the Forest God.

Her plan had been a good one.

After Isabel awakened, she would have acted as an Apostle. The Divine Format, Divinity, and Divine Body would attract one another, so she would have gradually discovered the other two parts, fused with them, and read her inherited memories... using this method to attempt a form of Rebirth.

Unfortunately, the world is in a constant state of change.

The Forest God would never have thought that it would be Luh Yao who acquired Isabel.

Nor could she have predicted that the Memory Book would be burned to a crisp by Luh Yao.

And of course, she certainly couldn’t have guessed that the Divine Format she had deliberately hidden under the sea would be intercepted by a White Wild Boar.

Her grand plan for Rebirth was a complete failure.

All that was left was the Divinity, which was the Fire of Faith the Forest God had left in the Golden Field. This was an extremely rich inheritance—it was all Faith!

Now that the hidden dangers in the Golden Field had been eliminated, he could start thinking about its output.

...

Luh Yao put these follow-up matters aside for now and focused his attention on the present.

First, he had to deal with the White God.

This local God had given Luh Yao a lot of new insight.

"I only know that I can build a Divine Statue, and it won’t affect my Divine Body. If I wanted to, I could also merge with the Divine Statue. That would make me immune to most damage..."

"But if I did that, any damage to the Divine Statue would injure me as well, and I wouldn’t be able to move. My openings and weaknesses would increase."

The White God said honestly, "So I didn’t do it."

Luh Yao questioned him about many details.

The White God answered each question cooperatively.

After this preliminary inquiry, Luh Yao opened a new document on his computer.

"On the Differences Between Local Gods and Outer Gods"

Local Gods are mobile deities who are born with a body. They first possessed a body within the world and then obtained a Divine Format.

They have their own unique Miracles, such as the White God’s Stamping and Deterrence.

As natives, local Gods are very familiar with the entire Fragment World.

Outer Gods usually descend upon this world via the simulator.

Outer Gods like Luh Yao possess a uniform set of five Miracle Abilities: Rainfall, Lightning, Scorching Sun, Hurricane, and Earthquake. At least, that’s the case for human players.

Because of their Divine Statues, Outer Gods are more dependent on their Apostles, Heroes, and Prophets. They must execute their will through these Believers and cannot act as a God, Apostle, and Prophet all at once, unlike local Gods.

The White God had no intention of building a steady foundation. He exploited his mobility, only thinking about how to quickly acquire Faith—by cheating, stealing, and robbing...

Outer Gods can’t easily relocate, so they must build up a foundation of Faith and population. They directly or indirectly drive the civilizational development of the local pixel people to obtain more population, Faith, and Sacrificial Offerings.

Luh Yao continued his analysis.

’The group known as "Gods" also has different factions within it.’

The local Gods who had appeared so far were the Forest God and the White God. According to the Memory Book’s records, the Dike Builder who fought against the Dark God in an earlier era was almost certainly a local God of this world as well.

Luh Yao connected the various clues.

During the era of the Dike Builder, this was an Unowned World. After the Dark God invaded, the Dike Builder fell, and his Divine Format was passed down to the Forest Witch. The Witch then stripped out the Divine Format, indirectly passing it to the current White God.

The timeline became much clearer.

Now for the final question: how to deal with the White God.

Looking at the White Wild Boar on the screen, a plan formed in Luh Yao’s mind.

Luh Yao clicked on the Apostle Mark in the upper-left corner and dragged it over the White Wild Boar’s head.

The simulator displayed a message.

[Ineffective]

The Demotion plan had failed.

Luh Yao then tried to have the White God strip out its Divine Format.

"I can’t strip out the Divine Format... I would just fall." A frightened expression appeared above the White God’s head.

’So what now?’

’I can’t just let you run around causing trouble for me, can I?’

Luh Yao considered simply finishing him off once and for all.

He couldn’t keep an eye on the White God constantly, and he had no reliable way to restrain him. If this boar god stirred up some trouble, the losses would be significant.

As if sensing the danger, the White God suddenly said, "If you agree, this little god is willing to create a Divine Statue, be listed in your Divine Palace... and serve as your Subordinate God."

"Your command will be this little god’s most important mission!"

’Huh?’

’You can have a Subordinate God without entering the Divine Hall of the Gods?’

Luh Yao was a little skeptical.

The White God explained, "This is all knowledge I suddenly understood when I inherited the Divine Format. This little god heard from Believers before that you have a Divine Palace, which is why I dared to hope I could become your Subordinate God."

Luh Yao pondered.

’A Divine Palace... My Divine Hall should count as a Divine Palace, right?’

’Might as well try. It’s not like I have anything to lose.’

In any case, he had plenty of Faith now, and the White God only had 300 HP left. Even if he had secretly held back some Faith, he couldn’t possibly pose a threat.

So, the White God followed the Apostles all the way to Yao City.

Wherever he went, the surrounding pixel people gathered to watch.

"Is that the White God? Hey, I can’t see it clearly at all. It just looks like a white fog."

"Lord Yao God is truly omnipotent. Even other Gods have to come to our Divine Hall on a pilgrimage."

"That White God worshipped by those heretics... has he submitted to Lord Yao God?"

"Move aside, let me get a closer look. I want to see what a God really looks like."

"HISS! My eyes hurt!"

"You can’t look directly at a God! Close your eyes, quick!"

"Aah! My eyes, my eyes, I can’t see!"

The little people didn’t know yet.

When a God does not wish to be seen, they cannot be looked upon.

...

The White God ignored the chatter of the little people along the way.

When he saw the Divine Hall, an exclamation mark appeared over his head.

"This... is no ordinary Divine Palace!!"

Luh Yao breathed a sigh of relief.

’So the Divine Hall counts as a Divine Palace. Good.’

When Prophet Yaoshao saw several Apostles appearing at once, she immediately understood it was the God’s will. She rose at once and withdrew from the Divine Hall.

The White God cautiously walked before Luh Yao’s Divine Statue. A dialogue box appeared above his head: "Lord True God, this little god offers you my infinite loyalty!"

A notification popped up in the simulator.

[The God "White God" reveres your great power and is willing to become your Subordinate God. Do you accept his vassalage?]

[Yes] [No]

Luh Yao clicked "Yes."

Immediately, the White God began to radiate a white light.

This white light solidified into a majestic, beast-headed sculpture. Aside from two clearly defined wild boar tusks, the statue’s head and torso were very blurry, resembling a thick, beast-headed stone pillar.

The beast’s Divine Statue fixed itself to the left and rear of Luh Yao’s main Divine Statue, looking like a Dharma Protector.

The Divine Statue bore the name "White God."

Luh Yao clicked on the "White God" Divine Statue and could immediately view its population, Faith, and Artifacts.

Population: 21, Faith: 0

Artifacts: 0

Only then did Luh Yao realize.

The White God truly had handed over all of his Faith, without keeping a single drop.
