Global Pioener: Earth Second Change

Oviraptor Hunter

Rangga finally gave up the chase. He roughly wiped his face before letting out a long sigh.

"...Forget it... What's gone is gone."

Although he was still annoyed, he knew chasing a Mechanical Oviraptor through an unfamiliar forest would only waste his energy.

After calming down a little, Rangga looked toward the path the mechanical dinosaur had taken.

"Hmm... Maybe its nest is up ahead."

Driven by curiosity, he decided to follow the Oviraptor's trail.

He gripped his Composite Alloy Bow tightly once more. This time, his steps were much more cautious. The deeper he went, the denser the trees became.

Between the thick trees, however, Rangga began to notice an open area filled with large boulders of various shapes.

Around the rocks, several animals were foraging. There were a few deer. Several wild boars, and Rangga's eyes immediately lit up.

"Cows?"

Several wild cattle were grazing peacefully. A wide grin instantly spread across his face.

"Nice... I want some beef."

He slowly crouched down, took out an arrow, and drew his bow to its full length.

His aim settled on the chest of the nearest cow. Rangga held his breath.

Fwish!

The arrow shot forward.

Thud!

The cow collapsed instantly. The other animals immediately scattered in every direction. A moment later, the cow's body turned into light. When the glow faded, several items appeared on the ground.

Beef ×4

Cow Hide ×4

Rangga's eyes widened.

"...Four?"

He hurriedly collected everything with a broad smile.

"Damn... That's way more than a boar."

As soon as the materials entered his inventory, Rangga quickly came to a conclusion.

"So... if I need leather and meat... hunting cattle is definitely the better choice."

He looked toward the herd that had fled. Several cows could still be seen running toward the grassland beyond the boulders. His grin grew even wider.

"Jackpot."

Without wasting any time, he immediately nocked another arrow. That day, his exploration objective changed.

He was no longer hunting mechanical dinosaurs. Instead, he began harvesting as much beef and cowhide as possible before returning to his home island.

A short while later, Rangga found another cow that had become separated from the herd.

He raised his bow again.

Fwish!

Thud!

The arrow pierced the cow's body. It collapsed before turning into light. Four pieces of beef and four sheets of cowhide appeared on the ground once again.

Rangga smiled in satisfaction.

"Now this is more like it."

Just as he was about to collect his loot...

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Rustle...!

The bushes shook again, and Rangga immediately turned around.

"...Huh?"

Another Mechanical Oviraptor emerged from between the trees. Its eyes immediately locked onto the pile of loot shimmering under the sunlight.

"Hey... don't tell me..."

The Oviraptor completely ignored Rangga. It sprinted straight toward the pile of meat and hides.

Still annoyed by what had happened earlier, Rangga grinned.

"Gotcha."

Without wasting a second, he nocked an arrow. This time, however, he didn't aim for its body. He aimed at the joint at the base of its tail, the weak point revealed by the Analysis System.

Rangga carefully watched the Oviraptor's running pattern.

Three steps... Four steps... Then...

Fwish!

The arrow shot forward.

Thud!

It struck the base of the Oviraptor's tail perfectly.

The Oviraptor let out a sharp mechanical screech. Its legs continued running, but its body suddenly lost balance. The creature staggered.

"Yes!"

Before it could recover...

Crash!

Its body slammed into a tree trunk and bounced backward. Rangga immediately seized the opportunity.

A second arrow was already nocked, and without hesitation, he drew the bowstring.

"Again!"

Fwish!

Thud!

The second arrow pierced the Oviraptor's neck and the mechanical creature froze..A few moments later, its body dissolved into light.

Rangga hurried over. Three items now lay on the ground. A Mechanical Gyroscope. An Alloy Servo Joint. And a rolled-up blueprint.

Rangga's eyes sparkled.

"Another blueprint!"

He quickly picked it up, and a blue screen appeared before him.

Composite Alloy Spear Blueprint 1/3

Collect all blueprint fragments to unlock the crafting recipe at the Crafting Table.

Rangga laughed in delight.

"Yes! So you're not just a thief... You carry blueprints too."

He immediately stored all of his loot in the ship's inventory.

Mechanical Gyroscope. Alloy Servo Joint. Blueprint. Then the four pieces of beef and four cowhides.

After everything had been stored, Rangga looked back toward the forest where the Oviraptor had appeared.

His smile slowly changed.

"Good... From now on... I've got another reason to hunt Oviraptors." He grinned. "Besides getting revenge for stealing my loot."

From that moment on, Rangga's primary target was no longer Compys, but Mechanical Oviraptors. The creatures not only carried new materials, but also the blueprints he needed.

However, hunting Oviraptors proved far more difficult than he had expected.

The first time, Rangga found an Oviraptor picking something up beneath a tree. He slowly raised his bow, but before he could fully draw the string, the creature suddenly lifted its head.

Its mechanical eyes locked directly onto Rangga.

"...Busted."

Without a second thought, the Oviraptor turned around and sprinted away at incredible speed.

"HEY!"

Rangga released an arrow, but it only struck a tree trunk. The Oviraptor had already disappeared.

The second attempt. This time Rangga was more patient. He circled through the bushes until he found the perfect angle. He released the arrow.

Thud!

It struck the joint at the base of the tail perfectly, causing the Oviraptor to lose its balance. Before it could get back up, a second arrow flew. The creature dissolved into light.

"Yes!"

The third attempt. Rangga had already calculated the distance perfectly. But just as he released the arrow, the Oviraptor lowered its head to peck at something.

Fwish!

The arrow sailed right over its body.

"...Damn it!"

The Oviraptor immediately fled, leaving Rangga behind.

The fourth attempt. Rangga found another Oviraptor.

He had already aimed and fully drawn the bowstring. But just as he released it, a large tree trunk blocked part of the target.

The arrow still flew.

Thunk!

It hit the tree instead and Rangga smacked his own forehead.

"Ouch..."

The Oviraptor escaped once again.

The fifth attempt. Rangga had begun to understand the creature's habits.

He waited for the Oviraptor to step into an open area. The moment finally came...

Thud!

The first arrow struck the base of its tail, and the second arrow immediately ended the fight.

Another Mechanical Gyroscope and Alloy Servo Joint dropped onto the ground.

The sixth attempt. Rangga tried a different approach.

He climbed onto a large boulder on a small slope. From the higher vantage point, the Oviraptor's entire route was clearly visible.

"From up here... it's easier to predict where it'll run."

The moment the target appeared...

Fwish!

The arrow struck perfectly. The Oviraptor lost its balance and tumbled down the slope.

Rangga jumped down after it, and the second arrow was released immediately afterward.

The creature dissolved into light. This time, besides a Mechanical Gyroscope and an Alloy Servo Joint, another blueprint dropped onto the ground.

Rangga's eyes immediately lit up. He ran over and picked it up.

A blue screen appeared.

Composite Alloy Spear Blueprint 3/3

The Composite Alloy Spear recipe is now available at the Crafting Table.

"YES!"

Rangga clenched his fist and laughed in delight.

"Finally completed!"

He immediately stored the blueprint along with all the loot in the ship's inventory.

While hunting Oviraptors, Rangga never passed up the opportunity to hunt wild cattle whenever he encountered a herd.

He successfully hunted several cows, steadily increasing his supply of beef and leather.

Only after everything was finished did Rangga check the exploration timer.

His eyes immediately widened.

"...Huh? Almost ten hours?"

He quickly looked up at the sky. The sun had already begun leaning toward the west, and the afternoon light now blanketed the entire forest.

"Crap! I spent too much time hunting!"

Without another thought, Rangga immediately sprinted back toward the beach.

He crashed through bushes and occasionally leaped over tree roots.

He had only one goal now. To get back to his ship before darkness completely fell.
