ENERGI: THE PRIMORDIAL CONDUIT[OP MC, APOCALYPSE, SURVIVAL, AND LITRPG]

CHAPTER 91: AGAINST HUMANS

The wind screamed past Kael, a wave of vertigo hitting him. The air within his lungs rushed out before he knew it, and Kael found himself suffocating. He flailed around in the air, his eyes darting left and right with fear.

He was so high in the sky, he felt as if he could almost touch the moon. Of course, that was only his fear playing tricks on him.

- SKREE!

Thankfully, Py's anxious cry grounded him in the next moment. Kael took that opportunity to quickly activate his skill.

[Godly Focus has been activated!]

All his fear and emotions were suddenly thrown into the back of his head, his mind becoming razor-sharp.

Kael's eyes glowed brightly with a blue light, contrasting with the pale moonlight falling from the skies. His gaze fell below, and it didn't take long to settle on a figure.

'Ben?'

He watched as the young teacher, despite currently having a pale face, flashed a malicious grin at him, the bright yellow text above him appearing blazing in Kael's sight.

[LV. 28 ??? (ELITE)]

Despite his placid eyes focusing on Ben's face, his mind was already churning through several ways he could escape the situation.

'Py should be able to help...'

The thought barely sprang up in his mind when Kael suddenly shouted.

"No!"

Py, who was already streaking towards him from below, was suddenly attacked.

- RATATTATATATA!

Four survivors appeared in the corridor, their firearms raised as they launched a barrage of bullets into the skies, their muzzles flashing with bursts of light.

The complicated magical enchantments on their weapons glowed with imbued mana, and every bullet cut through the air with a blue tint surrounding it, their paths leaving luminous contrails behind.

- SKREE!

Caught off guard, Py released another cry, this one filled with pain, as several bullets pierced through her body, leaving gaping holes behind.

At the same time, the liquid metal wrapped around Kael's foot suddenly let go.

- SWOOSH!

Kael found himself falling from the skies, yet his expression remained flat and his eyes sharp, with a frigid glint flashing within their depths. He could almost hear every beat of his heart and feel the rushing blood flowing through his veins.

His eyes locked with Py's ruby ones, and time seemed to freeze at that moment.

Despite being supposed to be in an emotionally detached state, Kael still flashed a small smile as he communicated mentally.

'Don't worry, there's no way they can harm me!'

A look of unwillingness flashed in Py's eyes as she watched Kael fall past her eye level. At the same time, the survivors finally finished reloading another round, and a rain of bullets soon tore into the skies.

Py gave another piercing cry before she was blown apart.

[Your familiar has been forced into a dormant state. Time for recovery: 7 days]

A crimson earring suddenly appeared on Kael's ear, but he didn't seem to notice it. Instead, his gaze fixed on the faces in the corridor as if memorizing them.

To think these weaklings would be able to hurt his familiar. All it would take was just one of Py's clones to turn them into ashes, but at the same time, as a being without flesh, Py was vulnerable to mana-based attacks.

'This is a well-thought-out plan.' The thought passed through Kael's mind at the same time many of the survivors froze when they felt his chilling gaze upon them.

But then another development unfolded.

A bulky figure suddenly appeared in the hallway, dragging a body in one hand.

"What the hell are you waiting for? Fire!"

The chill in Kael's eyes intensified so much that they seemed capable of shooting out two concentrated beams of light.

His gaze fell upon the unconscious principal held roughly in Logan's hand. The old man's face was bloody, and Kael noticed how his mate's hand was also covered in blood.

While all this sounded long to describe, the truth was that barely thirty seconds had passed.

Yet it seemed they didn't want to put their entire hope on the fall being enough to kill him.

With several clicking sounds, many rifles fixed on him, the complicated patterns on their surfaces soon glowing. At the same time, Kael was just about ten meters from the ground.

'So this is what fighting fellow humans feels like.'

Kael wouldn't lie. Despite his skill's effect, he felt a lot of pressure. Only now did he realize that humans were just as dangerous as those abominations, if not more. Their ability to plan ahead and work together made them terrifying opponents on any battlefield.

'Then so be it.'

[Ignition Mantle has been activated!]

A wave of golden flames erupted from Kael at the same time rounds of bullets split through the air, wrapped in blue light.

"Did we get him?"

Before anyone could answer the survivor's question, a body suddenly shot through the wave of flames with a whooshing sound.

Kael groaned in pain, a line of blood falling from his mouth. A bloody hole was visible in his abdomen, and one could almost see the squirming internal organs within.

Thankfully...

[Ember Regeneration has been activated!]

His Energi reserves dipped rapidly as the skill worked overtime to heal him. Yet Kael endured the wave of pain crashing through him, his glowing blue eyes still maintaining razor-sharp focus.

The air screamed past him, causing his hair to whip wildly above him. Just as he was about to collide with the ground, he unleashed his skill, the regal mantle of golden flames around him giving way to a cataclysmic explosion of fire.

- BOOOOOOM!

- RUMBLE!

A massive shockwave blasted outward, the rippling air reaching even the survivors inside the building.

Soon after, Kael's battered body was hurled out of the explosion, colliding with the ground several times as he rolled and tumbled like a stone skipping across water.
