The Grand Catastrophe

Chapter 15: Giant, part three (81)

“Okay,” Momonga said, sitting in her office.

Demiurge and Albedo looked at her as they stood in front of her desk. The two of them had been called to her office. Albedo looked like she wanted to get railed by her, she was in some sort of mood. Demiurge was standing there, his tail wagging slightly.

“So, the giant of the east has been killed. He was annoying and disruptive to the balance of the forest. The demon snake of the west, on the other hand, is a naga that seems fairly open about working for us, or whatever plans that we have for him and his group,” she told them.

Albedo nodded her head, her body posture becoming serious. Demiurge, meanwhile, simply put a hand to his chin. He seemed to be already thinking of what to do this these new resources.

“This report,” Momonga said, and placed two reports on the desk, “should describe what we have from this venture. I was simply on putting them back in their old homes, and having them worship me and build temples and idles and the like. What do you both think?” she asked, hoping that they had a plan.

Demiurge looked down at the report, picked it up, and started reading it. Albedo, meanwhile picked it up, and read it as well. Though, she seemed to have her own ideas on what to do with them. Momonga looked at the finale report that she had written up for her subordinates to read.

It was the report on what Nfirea had done. It was also the report on possible future potions that he may be able to make now that he had the ability to make this one. There was several other things in it, such as what Lupisregina had noted down as intriguing.

“You both should also read this report. Nfirea has finally managed to make a rather decent potion. It isn’t red, it doesn’t do as much healing as a minor potion, but it does heal stamina. I think that’s a rather decent trade off,” she explained, and the two of them grabbed the new report.

She smiled as the two of them grew happy by this news. Thoughts of what kind of world she wanted to give them flittered into and out of her mind. she sighed slightly, and spoke. Her voice brought them out of their own minds.

“I was also thinking about giving Nfirea, Enri, and maybe her sister a kind of gift for their services. Specifically, letting them into the tomb and giving them a good dinner. I already planned for it. I just need a menu for it,” she explained.

It was then that the three of them began their planning. The menu was solved first. Then, they figured out what they wanted to do with the trolls, the nagas, and the ogres and goblins under their command now.

The plan was simple. The goblins would just become plan worshippers of the faith. That part was simple. The Demon Snake of The West, or Ryraryus Spenia Ai Indarun, as he called himself, was rather smart. He had some weight to throw around in the forest.

They would use this to convert the races outside of this conflict. Of course, they would convert his own forces first. After that though, they would move fast and hard. They would make sure that they had a powerbase in the forest.

After that, they talked about many more things. Many of them weren’t of all that import. Yet, they still needed to be talked about. Aura and Mare’s education was discussed. How they would better make the tomb look homely for their guest, yet make it seem more divine.

Enri stretched her arms. Today was a new day. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping. She literally couldn’t have a better morning. In all honesty, she could. After all, there was some things that she could never get back.

She yawned as she walked out of her room, and into the kitchen. The sun was bright as she moved to make breakfast for her sister and herself. As she made breakfast, she didn’t notice multiple things.

First, she didn’t notice the lack of bird sounds. Second, she didn’t notice the lack of sound from her house itself. It was like the room itself was muted, which it was. Third, she didn’t notice that only she and one other thing was even making sound.

Of course, one couldn’t blame her. She was too tired and engrossed in early thought to notice this all. Though, it didn’t really matter. It was all the same in the end. As soon as she turned towards the doorway, mainly to grab some things from outside that she needed, she was spooked.

“Boo!” Lupisregina Beta yelled out as she jump-scared Enri.

“AH!” the young woman yelped out as she jumped in fright a good three feat.

She then proceeded to bump her head on the ceiling of the house. She yelped once more as she rubbed the now sore spot on her head. Lupis was cackling all the way. The werewolf greatly enjoyed this.

“Lupis, why did you do that?! I was just making breakfast!” Enri complained to the taller woman.

“Oh!” Lupis spoke as she clutched her sides, “I was just sent here to deliver a message. Let me stop laughing first. The look on your face was priceless!” she chuckled out.

After a minute or two she stopped. Yet, she still had a rather lackadaisical look on her face. Yet, she still spoke some rather heavy words.

“It’s just that you’re invited to the tomb for lunch today. Well, the food we have prepped works for both supper and lunch. The supreme one prefers you come at lunch though,” she said.

“…What?” was all that Enri said as Lupis began to stroll through her house, looking at all the things inside.

“Nfirea, Nemu, and you are all invited to have lunch with the Goddess of Death, Momonga,” Lupis said, turning back to Enri with, the most simultaneous look of euphoria and seriousness, look on her face.

“It will start at 1:00 PM. You are expected to be there, and be brought there, 20 minutes earlier than that, at 12:40 PM. Come with your best clothes, and best perfume on. Have a nice day till then,” she said, and vanished from sight.

Enri hadn’t the faintest idea on how to react to that. Yet, as she looked around her house, for any sign of Lupis, she noticed only one thing. It was a simple envelope, with a wax ceil on it depicting the embalm of Momonga, and the 41 supreme beings. There it lay, on her table.
