Chapter 39: Training the Enhanced Immunity Skill
I walked toward the front door, currently wearing a slightly loose brown hoodie sweater and black pants that were comfortable enough for movement—a simple yet practical choice.
My steps were relaxed, unhurried. When I reached the door, I slipped on my sandals with a familiar motion, not even needing to look down.
I then opened the door, the hinges letting out a soft sound that was barely audible.
As soon as I stepped outside, the air felt different—fresher, with a slight breeze, a contrast to the enclosed warmth inside the house.
I locked the door properly, making sure everything was secure with a light pull, before finally walking away, preparing to find something to fill my stomach.
After walking for quite a while, maybe several dozen minutes that felt longer due to my slow pace, I eventually found a restaurant by the roadside.
The building wasn’t particularly eye-catching, its design simple with paint that wasn’t exactly new, but it looked clean and fairly comfortable for a casual lunch, with glass windows that revealed the interior.
Without much thought, I went inside. The atmosphere was quite calm, not crowded, with only a few other customers eating while chatting softly.
I quickly ordered spaghetti bolognese, accompanied by a glass of iced tea that looked cold and refreshing, with condensation clinging to the sides of the glass.
I sat down and waited patiently, occasionally letting my gaze wander around, and before long, my order was brought to my table.
The aroma of the bolognese sauce was immediately noticeable—warm, savory, and appetizing, making my previously faint hunger react more clearly.
I began eating calmly, enjoying each bite without rushing, the soft texture of the pasta combined with the rich sauce feeling deeply satisfying.
The hunger that had once been subtle now became more apparent, and the food tasted far better after the long training I had gone through, as if my body truly needed the intake.
After finishing, I wiped my mouth slowly, then stood up and paid at the cashier without delay.
Before leaving, I glanced at the clock hanging on the restaurant wall, checking the time that had passed without me noticing.
It was already past one in the afternoon—faster than I had expected.
As soon as I stepped out of the restaurant, the outside air greeted me again, and my thoughts immediately returned to my main goal for today—training at home all day to improve the two Skills I possessed.
Without hesitation, I changed direction and walked toward a pharmacy not too far from there, my steps now more purposeful.
Inside the pharmacy, the atmosphere was calm with a faint medicinal scent. I bought several types of laxatives—ranging from mild to quite strong, ensuring enough variety for my experiment.
A strange selection for a normal person to buy, perhaps even enough to draw odd looks if anyone paid attention, but in my situation… this was part of an experiment that was no less strange and had to be done.
After that, I headed back home, my pace slightly faster than before.
Once I arrived, I unlocked the door, stepped inside, and locked it again just as neatly as before, making sure there would be no disturbances.
There was no time to relax. I immediately prepared to train my Enhanced Immunity Skill, ignoring the lingering fatigue that hadn’t completely faded.
This Skill functioned to increase my body’s resistance against various things—from diseases to certain substances that could disrupt the body.
In theory, the more frequently my body was exposed, the faster the adaptation would occur, making my body stronger than before.
The method for training the Enhanced Immunity Skill might sound simple, but it was clearly far from pleasant. I had to continuously expose my body to certain effects so it could adapt. And in this case… yes, laxatives were the most effective option—while also being the most torturous.
Without hesitation, I immediately swallowed several pills, washing them down with a single gulp of water.
At first, there was no noticeable change. My body felt completely normal, as if nothing had happened.
I even stood still for a few moments, waiting for a reaction that didn’t come, briefly thinking that the effect might be too weak to have any impact.
However, not long after, a strange sensation began to form in my stomach—slowly, but surely.
Gradually, that discomfort turned into pain that grew stronger and stronger. My stomach twisted violently, as if something invisible was wringing it from the inside.
It felt as though something inside was churning uncontrollably, moving wildly within me.
The sensation came in waves—not all at once—but each wave felt stronger than the last.
With time, it became more intense, forcing me to unconsciously hold my breath and tense up where I stood. My body reacted on instinct to the steadily increasing pain.
My face tightened into a deeper grimace, my jaw clenching as I tried to endure the relentless pain surging from my stomach after taking the laxatives to improve my Enhanced Immunity Skill.
This wasn’t just discomfort—it was torment, as if something was constantly twisting my insides without stopping, forcing my body to react beyond my control.
My abdominal muscles tensed hard, my body bending slightly forward on reflex, and my breath hitched repeatedly each time another wave of pain struck without warning.
Cold sweat began forming at my temples, slowly trickling down as I tried to remain standing upright, even though my body was clearly rejecting it. Thinking about it, this was obviously not a pleasant experience—far from reasonable, even.
In fact, it could be considered one of the most ridiculous forms of self-torture I had ever put myself through… and undoubtedly one of the dumbest—if not for my goal of leveling up the Enhanced Immunity Skill, which, for some reason, only responded to absurd methods like this.
On top of that, if I thought about it more deeply, this might be one of the most pathetic training methods I had experienced since becoming Spiderman over the past few days.
There was no enemy, no threat, no adrenaline from a fight—just me, a silent living room, and the suffering caused by laxatives. Truly an… outstanding combination, in the worst possible way.

After enduring the pain over and over again as it came and went like unpredictable waves, my efforts finally began to show faint but tangible results.
My body slowly started to adapt, even if it felt incredibly inhuman, as though every cell was being forced to learn how to survive under conditions that should never exist.
My Enhanced Immunity Skill truly responded to this method of training. The sharp, piercing pain I had felt earlier gradually began to lessen, turning into a lingering discomfort that was still present, but no longer paralyzing like before.
It was as if my body had begun to recognize the pattern of those “attacks” and was slowly adjusting to their effects, building a kind of resistance that hadn’t existed before.
Until finally… it worked.
The skill rose to Level One.
I immediately let out a long breath, heavy yet filled with relief, as if a massive burden had finally been lifted from my body.
My body felt weak, almost lacking the strength to even stand properly, as though all my energy had been completely drained by this insane training.
Yet beneath that exhaustion, a sense of satisfaction slowly emerged—warm and real.
At the very least, all this suffering had not been in vain.
