Chapter 44: The Song Family Destroyed
As the guards stood in place, they knew going forward now would be suicide. These guards didn’t know how to handle the situation. As the guards stood in place, not daring to confront Song Yurong, two figures then appeared from far down the hall.
As these figures got closer, it could be seen that they were Song Yurong’s father, Song Chen, and his wife. When the two fully arrived, they saw the guards were frozen in place, not capturing the group of people in the middle.
Song Chen then angrily said, "I pay you all so well, so why are you just standing there? Quickly go and capture this unfilial daughter of mine! And where are the cultivators I told you to summon?"
The guards heard the question but still remained frozen in fear. Seeing that the guards still wouldn’t act made Song Chen even angrier.
Song Chen then threatened, "If you guards don’t capture her today, don’t expect your families to live happily from now on. Without my support, do you really think you common people can live as well as you have until now?"
Now being threatened, the guards could no longer stand still, as their families were now on the line. The group of guards then stepped forward, ready to risk their lives to capture the woman in front of them.
Seeing the guards still daring to step forward to confront her made Song Yurong realize she had been too soft. Though she wasn’t as murderous as before, as she heard her father threatening these people, she still decided to teach them a lesson.
Song Yurong then summoned a massive gust of wind that pushed all the guards back, making them crash into the walls. Soon, all the guards collapsed on the ground, unconscious from the heavy impact.
The ones left standing were Song Chen and his wife, as Song Yurong had other plans for them.
Song Chen then started asking, as he was starting to fear his daughter, "What do you want to do with us? Don’t forget that I am your father and have raised you for so many years."
Song Chen’s wife then said, "I’m your mother, so you can’t hurt me. I was the one who brought you into this world."
Song Yurong no longer cared about these two being her parents. All these years, she had been mostly ignored. If it weren’t for her having the title of being the Song family’s daughter, she would have absolutely no status in this territory.
Song Yurong then grabbed the two by their necks and dragged them along, intending to teach them a lesson for being such horrible parents. She soon arrived at the family home and went in to search for the treasury.
When Song Yurong arrived at the treasury, she broke open the room that contained all of the Song family’s wealth and stuffed all the valuables into her ring. She then, with her parents by her side, threw a giant fireball toward the Song family estate.
Due to the commotion of her coming back, nobody was inside anymore, and the building burned down with nobody trying to stop the raging fire. Soon, the large building was nothing but rubble, still smoking from the scorching fire.
Song Chen, still watching from the side, asked in a heart-wrenching tone, "How could you do this to your home? This was built with the blood, sweat, and tears of your Song family ancestors. What do you expect our Song family to do from now on?"
Song Yurong then threw her parents to the side, as she had finished what she wanted to show them. Now, without their money or power, they were nothing. Song Yurong wasn’t cold-blooded enough to directly kill her family, but from now on, they would be unable to do any further harm.
She then turned toward Jiang Yun and Su Ming, while her parents were still yelling at her in the background.
Song Yurong then said, "I’m done now, as everything is resolved. Let's go to the sect that you were talking about."
Jiang Yun nodded and then disappeared from the Song family territory, taking Song Yurong and Su Ming with him. What was left behind were the ruins of the once-powerful Song family.
Arriving back, Jiang Yun reappeared with Song Yurong and Su Ming at the main hall of the Invincible Cloud sect.
Song Yurong and Su Ming marveled at the place they had just appeared in. Looking around, they were amazed by the place they would be staying from now on.
Jiang Yun then said, "There aren’t many people in the sect right now, as our numbers are still small. Just go and find an empty room, and you can stay there from now on."
Song Yurong nodded as she understood, grabbed Su Ming's hand, and went to find a place to stay.
Jiang Yun then took a seat, as he hadn’t been back to the sect in a while and missed the feeling of being home.
Not long after, two figures appeared from inside the hall. These two figures were the disciples of Tang Mei and Nangong Yu. These two then walked quickly toward Jiang Yun, seemingly having something urgent to say.
Jiang Yun then began, as he embarrassingly didn’t remember the identities of these two, "Could you remind me of your names, as you seem to have something to say to me?"
The first one to step forward was the older-looking one of the two women, with short black hair tied in a ponytail and a confident look, who could be said to look very ordinary. Though she was still a young adult and could probably blossom into quite the beauty one day, she then began introducing herself, "I am Ning Yangran, and I am the disciple of Tang Mei."
The other woman, who had long black hair that reached her waist with a shy demeanor—though she was more beautiful than Ning Yangran—said, "I am Zhen Siqi, and I am the disciple of Nangong Yu."
Jiang Yun, having heard their introductions, asked, "What have you come looking for me to ask?"
Ning Yangran then said worriedly, "Siqi and I come from the same village and are friends who managed to enter the sect together. Recently, we wanted to go back to our village, since it's been a while since we returned, and wanted to go back to meet our families. Unfortunately, something unexpected happened."
Zhen Siqi then continued, "Even though we have exited seclusion recently and have both entered the first level of Integrating Soul, we met an enemy we couldn’t defeat at our village. We don’t know what level he was at, but he overpowered the both of us and had taken full control of our village for some reason."
Ning Yangran then pleaded, "Our masters are still in seclusion right now and the enemy is too strong. We would like you to help us in reclaiming our village against this person."
Jiang Yun then wondered where this powerful cultivator came from. Ever since the demonic sects invaded, these kinds of high-level cultivators were practically nonexistent. This person must have hidden very well to avoid the attention of the demonic sects. This also made Jiang Yun wonder what a high-level cultivator was doing at a mortal village.
Jiang Yun then responded, "This is not a problem. When do you want to set off to deal with this matter?"
Zhen Siqi and Ning Yangran both then said, "Whenever you have time, senior."
Jiang Yun then said, "Then let’s go right now. We should be able to solve this matter fairly easily now that I am here."
Jiang Yun then got up and was preparing to leave when he was interrupted by another two figures. This time, Song Yurong and Su Ming had come back after picking out their rooms.
Song Yurong then saw Jiang Yun with two women and asked, "Who are these girls and where are you heading to?"
Jiang Yun replied, "These two are disciples in my sect. As for where I’m going, I’m heading off to their hometown to resolve some matters for them, as they have run into trouble."
Song Yurong then asked, "Can I come along with you?"
Jiang Yun then replied, "No, you are still too weak to involve yourself in this matter. For the time being, teach your maid to cultivate first and get stronger yourself. I will be back soon after resolving this matter, so don’t worry about it."
Hearing that she was too weak, Song Yurong reluctantly nodded, understanding that she couldn’t get involved in this matter. She then grabbed Su Ming and headed back to their new rooms to cultivate.
Jiang Yun, having given out his orders to his new disciple, then said to the two women, "Now let’s set off. Show me the way, as I don’t know exactly the location of your mortal village."
The two women then started floating into the air as they flew toward their village, with Jiang Yun following close behind.
