Chapter 34: Song Yurong Receives Jiang Yun’s Inheritance
Hearing that Jiang Yun wanted her to deal with the Han family personally, Song Yurong had no objections.
This family had caused her so much trouble that she had been forced to run away from home and hide all this time. She couldn’t wait to deal with them and finally stop worrying about looking over her shoulder.

She turned to Jiang Yun to warn him that the Han family employed a few cultivators, meaning she might not be their match.
"After the sects shut their gates, cultivators have been quiet lately, so I almost forgot that the Han family has a few employed," she explained. "They aren’t considered strong in the cultivation world, but they can remain arrogant in the mortal world. They are all well above my current level and have been cultivating far longer than me. How do I deal with them with my low cultivation?"
Jiang Yun understood that what she said was true.
She was entirely new to cultivation; she didn't know how to fight yet, nor did she possess any special abilities. Having her fight experienced cultivators above her realm was absurd.
Thus, Jiang Yun decided to raise Song Yurong’s cultivation level further before they paid a visit to the Han family.
He took out more cultivation pills, this time of a much higher quality.

Satisfied with her speed, Jiang Yun retrieved a sword from his storage ring.

Jiang Yun handed the weapon to Song Yurong and said, "This is a flying sword. Now that you have reached the Foundation Establishment realm, you can use it to fly around. Give your new powers a try and fly around."
Song Yurong took the sword, expressing her deep appreciation before turning her full attention to the blade.
After listening to Jiang Yun's explanation on how to operate it, she began channeling her spiritual energy into the weapon. Slowly, the sword began to float out of her hands.
She carefully levitated it down to ground level and stepped onto the blade, preparing for her first flight.

Jiang Yun waited patiently to the side, allowing Song Yurong some time to adjust.

Noticing her return, Jiang Yun began to give her further instructions.
"Since you are comfortable using spiritual energy now, I will teach you some combat skills. The first technique I’ll impart to you is my specific inheritance: the Law of Time. This process continued for an entire day, as Song Yurong did not seem particularly compatible with the Law of Time at first. But after a full day, she finally caught a faint trace of it and slowly began to deepen her connection to the sensation.
After continuous refinement, she could consistently perceive the Law of Time, prompting her to ask Jiang Yun what to do next.
Jiang Yun explained how to manipulate the energy she felt, instructing her to try and slow down the time in the immediate space in front of her, even if only by a small amount.
Song Yurong tried the method but failed several times, struggling to grasp the abstract concept.
Yet, after another day of countless attempts, she finally managed to slow down the time directly in front of her just a tiny bit.
Something about this successful attempt genuinely surprised Jiang Yun: it was the sheer duration of her execution.
While the actual amount by which time was slowed wasn't very impressive, Song Yurong was managing to sustain the effect continuously.
After a long while, she was finally exhausted and stopped channeling the technique.
Now that she had successfully executed the Law of Time firsthand, she understood the mechanics to a certain extent and could replicate it.
After letting her rest for a bit, Jiang Yun praised her, saying, "Your talent lies in your endurance rather than an innate comprehension of the Law of Time itself. Listening to Jiang Yun’s praise, Song Yurong felt much better about her first successful attempt at controlling the Law of Time.

Now that you have a decent grasp on this new ability, I think you are ready to confront the Han family."
Hearing Jiang Yun say it was finally time to fight the Han family, she no longer felt any fear.
This newfound confidence was entirely due to the extensive preparation she had made, alongside the fact that her current power level was incomparably higher than before.
Just as she was about to agree to head out with Jiang Yun, the two of them suddenly heard a loud commotion echoing in the distance.

As the sounds drew closer, several lavishly decorated carriages came into view, pulled by several teams of large, powerful horses. Hanging prominently on the side of each carriage was a finely crafted emblem signaling high status.
Song Yurong frowned and commented, "That is the emblem of the Han family. These people actually arrived first to deal with us for killing his son."
Jiang Yun thought to himself how remarkably convenient it was for them to show up on their own, saving him the trip.
This passing thought lasted only a moment, however, as the carriage ground to a halt. A young man stepped out who looked slightly older than the deceased Han Fei, though the resemblance between the two was unmistakable.
Accompanying the young man were several regular guards, as well as a few hired cultivators currently in the Qi Refining stage.
Looking over the group, Jiang Yun couldn't help but wonder why the richest man of the Eastern Region hadn’t bothered to come here himself.
