Fairy Tale Survival with Ability Copying

'Damn this love!' Levi thought as he watched the scene unfold.

Looking at the two nervous little people and the swarm of Flower Fairies rushing over behind them, Levi quickly explained that he only wanted to hire them to tend crops in his Cloud Territory. He had no improper designs on the Flower Fairy Kingdom whatsoever.

But the Flower Fairies refused Levi's offer.

The Flower Fairy King pointed at Levi and angrily accused him, even though he was clearly terrified inside.

Levi frowned slightly. He tried to persuade them again and again, but their attitude was obvious.

No matter what, they would never leave the Flower Fairy Kingdom.

Unless the Flower Fairy Kingdom ceased to exist.

When Levi heard that, his eyelids twitched a few times.

'Perhaps...'

Of course.

That was only a passing thought.

Levi wasn't the sort of person who would actually do something like that.

Destroying a beautiful paradise for the sake of his own selfish interests.

After pondering for a moment, Levi looked at the hundred-plus Flower Fairies. Blue light flashed in his eyes as he proposed another option. He would hire only a small number of Flower Fairies to work for him, pay them whatever compensation they desired, and allow them to return to the Flower Fairy Kingdom after a certain period of time.

However, for Flower Fairies, whose material desires were extremely low, the offer still held no appeal.

They firmly rejected Levi once again.

Levi fell silent and let out a helpless sigh inwardly.

Even Detection couldn't help him here.

If he wanted these Flower Fairies to become farmers in his Cloud Territory, only a divine oracle from that missing-and-possibly-dead God of Love could make it happen.

Thinking of that God of Love, a trace of obvious wariness appeared in Levi's eyes. That sudden Blessing of the God of Love left him with an inexplicable sense of unease.

In the end, he gave the Flower Fairies one last deep look before slowly withdrawing from the white marble palace.

Levi transformed back into a Nightingale and flew out of the Flower Fairy Kingdom, returning to his Cloud Territory.

Well, if he hadn't turned into a Nightingale, he wouldn't have been able to leave the Flower Fairy Kingdom at all.

After returning to the floating clouds in the sky, the women gathered around him curiously.

Rapunzel's godmother didn't come over, but she had clearly perked up her ears.

Curiosity existed everywhere.

"Lord Levi, where did you go? How did you suddenly disappear?" Miss Nightingale Odelle was the first to ask.

"I went to a kingdom of Flower Fairies. I originally wanted to invite them to come here as guests and live with us, but they refused," Levi said truthfully.

"What are Flower Fairies?" the wolf-eared girl Little Red Riding Hood asked curiously.

Rapunzel answered instead.

Having received a formal wizard's education since childhood, she knew quite a bit about such things.

"Flower Fairies are spirits of nature. In ancient times, they were the beloved children of the gods."

"They possess the ability to communicate with nature."

As she said this, Rapunzel looked at Levi.

Levi gave a slight nod.

Rapunzel continued.

"However, after the fall of the gods, the Church began treating Flower Fairies as evil spirits. They're extremely rare nowadays."

As soon as she finished speaking, her godmother's voice drifted out from the wooden cottage.

"According to an ancient formula, brewing ninety-nine Flower Fairies into a potion can raise any wizard below the Seventh Ring by one rank and naturally grant certain innate spells."

The corner of Levi's mouth twitched.

Ninety-nine Flower Fairies boiled into a single cauldron?

What did she think this was?

The Smurfs?

Was she Gargamel or something?

Levi was thoroughly speechless.

The other women reacted strongly as well.

"That's horrible!" Miss Nightingale Odelle's face turned pale.

Rapunzel frowned.

The wolf-eared girl Little Red Riding Hood also found it horrifying.

But after revealing that secret formula, Rapunzel's godmother said nothing further. She simply continued researching and brewing potions inside her cottage.

The women glanced toward her and fell silent.

After a while, Rapunzel finally spoke.

"Lord Levi, could you tell us what the Flower Fairy Kingdom is like? Why can't we see it?"

"Of course."

Levi nodded lightly.

"The Flower Fairy Kingdom is actually right below us. It's just been separated by an extremely powerful barrier. Humans can't enter it in their normal forms, but ordinary birds and insects can."

"What about other animals?" the wolf-eared girl Little Red Riding Hood asked.

"They can't enter either."

After thinking for a moment, Levi shook his head.

He hadn't seen any large animals inside the Flower Fairy Kingdom. Birds seemed to be the limit.

Because Flower Fairies were very weak.

The Flower Fairy King might have summoned vines in an attempt to restrain Levi, but that was an ability he only gained after advancing into a Second-Order magical creature.

Before that, even a swallow was enough to frighten him.

That alone showed how weak the Flower Fairy race truly was.

The hidden barrier existed to protect them.

If large animals were allowed inside, the Flower Fairies might very well become extinct.

After hearing the explanation, the wolf-eared girl Little Red Riding Hood fell silent.

The other two women continued asking a few more questions.

Levi answered everything he knew.

Finally, Miss Nightingale Odelle asked: "Lord Levi, since the Flower Fairies rejected your invitation, are we still going to stay here?"

"Let's wait a little longer." Levi still wanted to try. After entering the Flower Fairy Kingdom, he had used Detection to inspect the Flower Fairies' attributes and discovered that they were genuinely excellent at caring for plants. They were perfectly suited to become the farmers of his Cloud Territory.

So Levi wasn't ready to give up yet.

Seeing this, the women said nothing more and returned to their own tasks.

Levi also went back to his small wooden cottage and continued meditating to stabilize his rapidly increased Spiritual Power.

Over the next several days, Levi frequently transformed into a Nightingale and entered the Flower Fairy Kingdom, speaking with the Flower Fairy King and Thumbelina in an attempt to persuade them.

However, the Flower Fairies were stubborn.

Not a single one of them was willing to leave the safety of the Flower Fairy Kingdom, so Levi never managed to convince them.

The Flower Fairies told him that there had once been a Rose Flower Fairy who longed for the outside world. Riding on the back of a bee, she had left the Flower Fairy Kingdom and never returned.

It had been many years.

They assumed she had died somewhere outside.

The outside world was too dangerous.

That was why they would never leave.

Miss Nightingale Odelle believed Levi had no chance of persuading them. Forcibly abducting them wasn't realistic either. After all, they couldn't exactly force them to work.

She said to Levi, "Why not forget about the Flower Fairies? Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and I can handle the planting ourselves. At worst, it'll just be a bit more work."

Levi shook his head after hearing that.

"Let's keep watching for now," was all he said.

Several more days passed.

Still, not a single Flower Fairy was willing to go with Levi.

There wasn't even one rebellious Flower Fairy among them.

They all obeyed the king's orders.

If the king didn't agree, none of them would nod in agreement either.

Levi was starting to get annoyed.

He was a dignified Third-Ring Wizard, yet he kept running into this kind of soft rejection from a bunch of Flower Fairies.

Did they really think he wouldn't grab ninety-nine Flower Fairies and boil them into soup?!

Of course.

That was a joke.

No matter what, Levi would never actually do such a thing.

He made up his mind.

He would try for a few more days.

If the Flower Fairies still refused, then... hmph, hmph, hmph...

Levi had already begun considering some special methods.

But fate seemed particularly fond of him and refused to give him that opportunity.

Late one night, Levi suddenly felt his senses throbbing wildly, as though something had happened.

He opened his eyes, stepped out of the wooden cottage, and walked to the edge of the Cloud Territory.

The sky was an impossibly deep shade of dark blue, so pure that not a speck of dust seemed to exist within it.

The moon was enormous and perfectly round.

Countless stars filled the heavens, dazzlingly bright, like fragments of diamonds personally embedded into the celestial dome. The Milky Way stretched across the sky, so brilliant it was almost visible to the naked eye, flowing quietly in shimmering streams of light.

Beyond lay an endless sea of clouds.

Under the moonlight and starlight, the clouds glowed with a faint silver-white radiance. Layer upon layer, they resembled frozen waves or a vast sleeping ocean of cotton spread between heaven and earth.

The wind blew in from afar, causing the cloud sea to rise and fall gently.

Wave after wave of cloud-tides rolled forward, their edges illuminated by moonlight, as though dusted with a layer of sparkling frost.

The lower clouds looked soft and fluffy.

The higher cloud masses were vast and heavy.

Light and shadow intertwined, depth and brightness blended together, and the sea of clouds stretched beyond sight.

Occasionally, wisps of cloud drifted from the edge of the Cloud Territory, turning into strands of mist before falling into the darkness below and vanishing in an instant.

Levi lowered his gaze.

Beneath the sea of clouds lay the sleeping earth.

The forests had become a blurry expanse of dark green waves.

The mountains were reduced to faint silhouettes.

Rivers appeared as silver threads hidden within the mist.

The lights of castles and villages flickered faintly in the distance like fallen stars scattered across the land.

Everything felt distant.

Quiet.

Small.

All that remained were the starry sky above, the sea of clouds before him, and this Cloud Territory floating between heaven and earth beneath his feet.

The scenery was so beautiful that one could not help becoming immersed in it.

A gleam flashed through Levi's eyes as blue light appeared.

He had activated Detection.

Third-Ring Detection allowed him to notice something unusual within the night scenery—

A small bird was flying rapidly at low altitude toward the Flower Fairy Kingdom.

That much was visible to ordinary people.

But with Detection, Levi saw much more.

A Flower Fairy was clinging to the bird's back.

The Flower Fairy looked nervous, glancing behind her from time to time while urging the bird to fly faster.

Detection displayed all of her information.

A look of surprise appeared on Levi's face.

Because he had heard of this Flower Fairy before.

She was the very same Rose Flower Fairy the others had mentioned—the one who had longed for the outside world, left on her own, and whose fate had remained unknown.

She was also the protagonist of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale The Rose Elf.

That information had come directly from Detection, and it was what surprised Levi the most.

The Flower Fairies from Thumbelina actually had a connection to The Rose Elf.

Then again, after thinking about it, it made sense.

Both involved Flower Fairies.

Both came from Andersen's fairy tales.

It was only natural that the two stories would be connected.

The contents of The Rose Elf surfaced in Levi's mind, and his heart stirred slightly.

The fairy tale told the story of a Rose Flower Fairy living in a garden who accidentally witnessed a lovers' tragedy.

A young woman's brother murdered her beloved.

The Rose Flower Fairy revealed the truth to the young woman and helped the spirit of the flowers and the bees take revenge, ultimately exposing the murderer's crime.
