Fairy Tale Survival with Ability Copying

Chapter 63: New Intelligence

The heaven-defying creations produced through Synthesis possessed all kinds of exaggerated advantages that were almost unbelievable, but they also had several obvious flaws.

The first was generational degradation. With every new generation, their quality declined by fifty percent.

By the third or even fourth generation, they completely lost any value for cultivation.

However, for Levi, this was actually a good thing. It made it easier for him to control these immensely strategic artificial crops.

Because only he could produce these artificial crops.

These artificial crops also had other flaws.

Their taste was absolutely terrible.

Even when baked into bread, a faint bitter and sour rotten smell would rise the moment one brought it close. Once eaten, it felt astringent and acidic in the mouth, with no lingering sweetness whatsoever. The taste was far inferior to rye bread. Even after repeated baking or mixing with water, that sour bitterness could not be suppressed. At best, it could barely fill the stomach.

This was the information displayed by Detection.

Still, the refugees already had food to eat. What more could they ask for?

So what if these artificial crops tasted awful? They could keep people alive!

Levi's eyes flickered. He closed his eyes and began meditating. Once his Magic Power recovered, he planned to massively Synthesize these artificial crops and distribute them to the territory's people for cultivation.

Time passed in a flash, and soon the next day arrived.

Dawn broke in the east.

Levi opened his eyes, faint light flickering within them.

His Magic Power had fully recovered.

Meditation could not increase his Spiritual Power.

Because he had already reached the upper limit of his Sea of Soul.

Unless he broke through that bottleneck, his Spiritual Power would never improve further.

And the bottleneck Levi needed to break through was the one between a Second-Ring Wizard and a Third-Ring Wizard.

For other Second-Ring Wizards, this would be extremely difficult.

But for Levi, it was not difficult at all. As long as he raised the level of one of his spells to the sixth tier—that is, to the level of a Third-Ring Spell—his Sea of Soul would expand, and his Spiritual Power could continue steadily increasing.

The spell Levi had chosen was Detection.

Thanks to his frequent use during this period, the proficiency of Detection—or rather, its experience points—had been steadily rising.

However, because advancing a spell from Level 5 to Level 6 required an enormous amount of experience, he still had quite a way to go before reaching the upgrade threshold.

Levi used Detection on himself:

[Detection LV5 (547/1600)!]

The experience bar had not even reached halfway yet!

Levi chuckled to himself. With a thought, he cast Detection again. But this time, he was not detecting information directly—he was detecting intelligence related to himself.

Half of his Magic Power was instantly devoured by the spell crystal of Detection. His Spiritual Power resonated with the outside world, causing ripples to spread outward as lines of intelligence appeared before him one after another:

[Intelligence 1: The Magic Mirror Queen is still searching for an opportunity to assassinate Snow White.]

[Intelligence 2: After a period of preparation, the Silverclaw Viscount will officially seal Frostfang Pass today and drive more than eight thousand refugees into your territory. The Silverclaw Army will be stationed at Frostfang Pass, forbidding even a single grain of food from entering your territory, and forbidding anyone from leaving it. Merchant caravans will not enter your territory, and merchant ships, after receiving the news, will no longer dock at your port.]

[Intelligence 3: The terrifying pressure deep within the Mist Swamp has suddenly disappeared.]

[Intelligence 4: A High-Tier Inquisitor from the Inquisition is currently on the way to the Black Forest, though certain matters have delayed their journey.]

[Intelligence 5: Four male sperm whales are roaming the offshore waters of Hornreach. The lead sperm whale appears to be sick.]

...

Levi's gaze swept rapidly across the five pieces of intelligence. It paused briefly on the fifth before ultimately focusing on the second.

After pondering for a moment, he summoned Sky Knight Rune and Yalina, informing them of the situation described in Intelligence 2.

Neither of them questioned the reliability of Levi's intelligence. Throughout their journey, Levi had already proven his reliability countless times through his actions.

Sky Knight Rune and Levi's coachwoman, Yalina, merely reacted with great indignation toward the matter.

During this period, they had also come to understand the situation of Hornreach.

They also understood that once the Silverclaw Viscount sealed things off like this, Hornreach absolutely would not be able to hold out for long.

And at that point, they would be forced to bow their heads to him!

That was something neither of them could accept.

Sky Knight Rune immediately said to Levi, "Give me some time, Lord Levi. I'll assassinate the Silverclaw Viscount!"

Levi glanced at him. "Assassination won't solve the problem."

"The Silverclaw Viscount's actions are both a threat… and an opportunity for us," Levi said slowly.

Killing the Silverclaw Viscount would be easy.

Levi could kill him without difficulty.

But there was no fun in that.

Sky Knight Rune and Yalina were both completely baffled by Levi's words. All they could see was a severe crisis threatening the territory's survival. Where was this so-called opportunity?

After hesitating for a moment, Yalina asked, "What opportunity?"

"Don't you see the people? More than eight thousand of them. That's more than the original population of Coldwind Keep itself. Population is strength."

"If we can settle them and turn them into the people of Hornreach, then the wealth created by those eight thousand people will greatly strengthen our territory," Levi said.

"But once the Silverclaw Viscount seals the passage between the two territories, we won't even be able to support the original three thousand residents, let alone another eight thousand. They'll drag the territory into collapse almost instantly," Yalina said with a grave expression. "The land of Hornreach can barely even grow weeds."

"Let alone rye."

Levi had already anticipated this issue and had begun working on a solution.

Smiling faintly, he took out the artificial crop he had synthesized and said to the two of them, "This thing can grow on any land in Hornreach. It matures in one month and produces root tubers. Those tubers are edible, though they're rather bitter and sour."

"Really?" Rune and Yalina were both stunned.

"Of course." Levi nodded with complete certainty.

"Lord Levi, you truly are capable of anything!" Rune looked at Levi with admiration.

He had keenly perceived the value of this thing, and said, "What you've created… will change the world."

"Perhaps." Levi replied calmly.

"Oh right, what is it called?"

"Let's call it Bittervine."

Yalina also said, "That's wonderful. With this Bittervine, as long as we can hold out for one month, we won't have to fear the Silverclaw Viscount's blockade anymore."

"Once we stabilize things, we can settle accounts with the Silverclaw Viscount," Yalina said.

She was far from some delicate, pampered woman.

Levi nodded. "Exactly."

"But first, we need to deal with the immediate problem before us," Levi said.

Rune and Yalina immediately grew serious.

Levi then explained his arrangements. After further discussion among the three of them, they finalized their strategy before departing with one hundred members of the garrison for Frostfang Pass.

...

Levi led Rune and Yalina, followed by one hundred garrison soldiers, toward Frostfang Pass.

By the time they arrived, Frostfang Pass had already been sealed shut. Soldiers from Silverclaw Territory, clad in gleaming silver armor, stood guard atop the walls.

Below Frostfang Pass, meanwhile, stretched a dense sea of refugees that extended beyond the horizon.

Most of the refugees were able-bodied adults, because those who were not strong enough rarely survived this long, though there were still elderly people and children among them.

The elderly wore ragged clothes. Their hair was gray and disheveled, their faces sallow and emaciated. Slumped on the ground, their eyes were hollow, lacking even the strength to lift their hands.

The children wore tattered clothing, their little faces waxy yellow from hunger as they wailed loudly, clutching tightly to the hems of their elders' clothes.

The women looked exhausted, holding their children in their arms, their eyes filled with fear and helplessness.

The able-bodied adults were not much better off. Prolonged hunger had left them pale and sickly-looking, their eyes carrying traces of irritability and violence. Some of them shouted angrily at the Silverclaw Viscount's soldiers atop Frostfang Pass: "You said there would be bread here!"

"You lied to us!"

"You want us to die!"

Those furious shouts mixed with the heart-wrenching cries of children, the weak moans of the elderly, and the sobbing of women, crashing forward like a tidal wave that made one's head buzz just from hearing it.

The air was filled with dust, sweat, hunger, and despair, making one's chest feel heavy and suffocating.

The Silverclaw Viscount's soldiers atop Frostfang Pass remained expressionless. They merely raised their bows and aimed them at the refugees below as they barked: "Back away!"

"Or die!"

But where could the refugees retreat to?

Behind them stood the one hundred fully armed garrison soldiers led by Levi.

The stern expressions of those soldiers only placed even greater pressure upon the refugees.

The refugees believed Levi had also come to drive them away.

In the end, they would perish under the combined pressure of two lords!

As for resisting, they did not dare.

After starving for so many days, they were as fragile as paper.

They might appear numerous.

But in reality, if even a single knight led a charge, those one hundred soldiers could send all eight thousand refugees into total collapse.

Despair spread through the refugee crowd.

Atop Frostfang Pass, the Silverclaw Viscount's intelligence chief stepped out from the shadows with a smile as he looked toward Levi in the distance.

He had recognized Levi's identity!

Although he was somewhat surprised that Levi had learned of the situation and rushed over so quickly, it changed nothing.

What he wanted to see now was how this arrogant new lord would swallow this poisoned bait.

That expression on Levi's face would surely be wonderful to watch.

But unfortunately, Levi's expression remained calm from beginning to end!

He glanced toward a somewhat scruffy-looking middle-aged man beside him. The man nodded and stepped forward, roaring like a giant beast with a voice so loud that even the walls trembled: "Do you want to live?!"

The noise among the refugees was instantly suppressed.

They were all stunned, confusion appearing on their faces.

But they quickly discovered who had spoken and all turned their gazes over.

Being watched by several thousand people, Levi remained completely calm.

His hundred garrison soldiers, however, felt somewhat nervous.

Fortunately, the past several days of training had not been wasted.

Under the restraints of discipline, they managed to maintain their composure and preserve the stability of their formation.

Levi cast a glance toward Yalina.

Understanding immediately, Yalina directed a group of soldiers to carry out large crates one after another.

The crates were opened, revealing them to be filled with black bread, each loaf sliced into small pieces.

"Do you want to eat?"

"Do you want to live?"

"Silverclaw Territory has abandoned you and wants you to die."

"But the merciful lord of Hornreach, Lord Levi, is willing to give you a path to survival."

"As long as you are willing to work for Lord Levi, you will have food to eat every day."

"And if you perform well, you may even receive land and housing!"

"Now answer me—are you willing?!" Rune roared loudly.

After a brief silence, cries of "We are willing!" began rising one after another. Hope appeared in the eyes of many refugees.

"Those willing to work for Lord Levi, come line up, receive your bread, and be assigned into groups. Someone will take you where you need to go!" Rune shouted again.

Although they lacked modern tools like loudspeakers and amplifiers, relying on the physical capabilities of a Sky Knight allowed his voice to be clearly heard by all eight thousand people.

Atop Frostfang Pass, a commander-looking officer frowned at the scene before heading toward Grey Crow's position.

"My lord, should we…"

Things were no longer unfolding according to their script.

Grey Crow's gaze fell downward. He saw that the refugees had not descended into chaos. Instead, they lined up in relatively orderly fashion, each receiving a small piece of bread before being swept over by the lord's gaze and sorted into different groups.

The entire process was so smooth that it was almost unbelievable.

It was as though… as though… some terrifying existence was forcing those refugees into obedience.

Grey Crow knew that was exactly what was happening.

Under normal circumstances, the lure of food would never produce this kind of order.

But Levi had unleashed Spiritual Power at the limit of a Second-Ring Wizard, covering vast sections of the refugee crowd. It pressed down on their hearts like a mountain, leaving them too intimidated to cause trouble. That was why such results had been achieved.

At the same time, he kept Detection active, his gaze sweeping across the refugees. In mere moments, he could sort them into groups according to their conditions.

Those with good physical fitness and acceptable character were placed into the military reserve group.

The elderly, the weak, the women, along with some frail or injured young men, were assigned to the agricultural group.

Planting, gathering, and animal husbandry would become their primary work in the future.

The remaining able-bodied adults were assigned to the labor group.

The labor group's tasks would be far more varied and complicated, but they were equally important.

For every group of three hundred people, ten temporary squad leaders would be selected. Each one would manage twenty-nine people, and under the guidance of five garrison soldiers, they would then be escorted toward Coldwind Keep Town.

Outside Coldwind Keep Town, Levi had already marked out a large area. It had originally been used as an outdoor training ground for the garrison soldiers, but now it would temporarily house these refugees.

In a place like Hornreach, land had never been valuable.

In fact, nobody even wanted it.

With bread, Levi's Spiritual Power intimidation, and the hope of a future life ahead of them, the refugees remained fairly cooperative.

Groups of five garrison soldiers escorted the refugees to their assigned locations. Three soldiers would remain behind and, through the temporary squad leaders, organize the refugees to dig pits.

These pits would become the foundation for future latrines, while also giving the refugees something to do so they would not stir up trouble out of boredom.

The remaining two soldiers would then return to Frostfang Pass!!!

...

More than eight thousand people were divided into three major groups.

The agricultural group had over three thousand two hundred people.

The labor group had over four thousand three hundred people.

The military reserve group had six hundred people.

Then, in batches of three hundred, they were escorted away group by group.

The entire process proceeded in perfect order.

The chaos and destruction Grey Crow had imagined never occurred.

Instead, the overwhelming orderliness of it all filled him with fear.

In the end, he did not issue the command for his soldiers to shoot the refugees and create trouble for Levi.

That was not only because Levi himself was a Great Knight-level warrior. The scruffy middle-aged man beside him also displayed combat strength that likely rivaled a Great Knight.

Those two Great Knights alone were enough to make Grey Crow wary.

Not to mention, the sheer "order" of the entire process left Grey Crow even more shaken.

"Levi…" Grey Crow murmured softly, his expression complicated. "I may have provoked a terrifying enemy for the Viscount. If there hadn't been that initial probe… perhaps things would not have reached this point today…"

Even so, Grey Crow still retained some confidence.

Because of food.

Levi had taken in more than eight thousand people. Leaving everything else aside, the amount of food required alone was astronomical.

Although fishing along the coast could alleviate part of the food shortage, the total demand remained an absurd figure.

Now that Silverclaw Territory had severed trade between the two lands, there was no way Levi's Hornreach could solve this problem.

At best, Levi would last three to five days.

At worst, perhaps ten days.

Eventually, Levi would inevitably collapse under the pressure.

And when that time came, he would either go to war… or compromise with the Silverclaw Viscount.

"Levi… which path will you choose?" Grey Crow softly asked as he gazed in the direction Levi had disappeared.

...

Levi did not hear Grey Crow's words.

He had already returned to the temporary refugee camp outside Coldwind Keep Town and was preparing to give a speech.

There was no helping it. This was something that had to be done.

Standing in the center of the open ground, Levi radiated cold authority. His gaze swept across the crowd as his loud voice rang clearly into every person's ears: "I am Levi, Lord of Hornreach. You were driven here by the Silverclaw Viscount, with nowhere left to go. I know you are hungry, and I know you are afraid. But I will tell you this—starting now, if you remain obedient and follow orders, then you will have a way to survive."

"You will receive bread, shelter, and perhaps even land."

"But anyone who dares stir up trouble or disobey orders will find the gallows waiting for them. If members of the same group fail to report them, they will share the punishment!"

Levi had already said some of these things back at Frostfang Pass, but he repeated them once more.

At the same time, he again released Spiritual Power at the limit of a Second-Ring Wizard, deepening the impression within the refugees' minds.

The refugees remained utterly silent, looking at Levi with complicated expressions.

Levi looked over the crowd and continued speaking, his voice steady and powerful, bringing them a sliver of hope: "Hornreach does not support idle people, but neither does it mistreat those who remain obedient and law-abiding. Therefore, you must prove your value to me through your labor!"

Levi then issued his first lordly decree:

The refugees were to construct their own simple camps outside the town.

There was no way he could allow more than eight thousand people into Coldwind Keep Town itself.

The town simply could not accommodate that many people.

So temporary camps had to be built outside.

Fortunately, it was currently summer. Although the territory was near the sea, the weather remained fairly hot. Even crude camps would not pose much of a problem.

If it had been winter, things would have been far more troublesome.

Because the highest priority was giving them a place to live, and rough conditions did not matter much, Levi ordered the construction of semi-subterranean longhouses.

The defining feature of this kind of structure was its semi-subterranean design.

By digging pits one to two meters deep—or even deeper—it created a living space below ground level.

These dwellings were usually rectangular.

The walls could either be simple earthen walls carved directly from the ground, or reinforced using wooden planks and stones.

The roofs, meanwhile, were supported by wooden pillars and covered with thatch, bark, or turf, forming either sloped or domed structures.

However, forest resources in this area were limited, so Levi synthesized more than eight hundred sheets of canvas to replace the bark and turf normally required for such longhouses.

To do so, Levi completely drained the remainder of his Magic Power. He could only leave the scene under Sky Knight Rune's supervision while he hurried back to meditate and recover his Magic Power.

Before leaving, however, he issued several more commands.

The first command was that once the semi-subterranean longhouses had been completed, separate dry latrines for men and women had to be built. Furthermore, public defecation and urination were strictly forbidden. Anyone needing to relieve themselves had to use the latrines, and violators would be punished.

The second order he gave was for the castle's cooks to lead a large group of people carrying bread, chunks of meat, cabbages, and all kinds of ingredients outside the town to prepare huge pots of stew. Levi also provided a large quantity of salt.

Levi told the refugees that as long as they completed their work, they would be allowed to eat.

Since everything was organized by groups, whichever group finished first would eat first.

That incentive instantly ignited the refugees' enthusiasm. Who would not want a steaming bowl of bread, cabbage, and sliced meat stew?

Most importantly, the stew was being cooked right in front of them.

At the same time, their trust in Levi as their lord also increased.

They finally believed that Levi's promises were real!

That kind of trust was more important than anything else!

...

Levi returned to his room in the castle to meditate.

However, before much of his Magic Power had recovered, he was interrupted.

Because the Silverclaw Viscount had sealed Frostfang Pass and halted grain imports, the news had already spread throughout the town, throwing the entire settlement into panic.

Prices had begun skyrocketing, and public order was also showing signs of instability.

Yalina quickly realized something was wrong. Bringing along several former military personnel from the castle, she decisively executed five local thugs who had taken advantage of the chaos to loot and extort others.

Only then did certain people within the town realize with shock that Yalina—who always appeared delicate and pampered beside Levi—actually possessed considerable combat strength.

At the very least, she was Knight-level!

That discovery immediately extinguished the ambitions of many people who had been tempted to stir up trouble.

Still, the issues of skyrocketing prices and the grain shortage had to be resolved somehow.

As a result, several influential townspeople joined together and came to petition the lord.

It was under these circumstances that Levi's meditation was interrupted.

After listening to their demands, Levi pondered for a moment before promising that he would resolve the problem.

Only then did they leave, though not entirely satisfied.

Once they were gone, Yalina frowned and looked toward Levi.

"The castle only has a few thousand pounds of rye left. Supplying those eight thousand refugees is already stretching things to the limit, and it won't last long. If we also use it to stabilize grain prices in the town, I'm afraid it won't even last three days."

Of course Levi understood this.

After a moment of silence, he asked, "Who's currently selling grain in the town?"

During this period, Yalina had been conducting a full assessment of the situation in Hornreach.

Hearing Levi's question, she thought briefly before replying: "Hornreach doesn't produce grain. All grain has to be imported from outside, so there are no local farmers selling food here. The grain trade is controlled entirely by several merchant caravans."

"They opened shops inside the town, and the town's grain prices are all controlled by them."

"The largest one originally belonged to the Silverclaw Viscount, but it shut down and withdrew seven days ago."

"There are only two left now."

"One is a branch of the Sea Serpent Merchant Guild."

"The other belongs to the Sword and Flower Caravan," Yalina said slowly.

"Sword and Flower?" Levi froze slightly upon hearing the name.

"What's wrong?" Yalina asked curiously.

"Nothing. Continue."

"That's all. Those are the only two still selling grain. After Frostfang Pass was closed, the prices at both shops immediately increased fivefold," Yalina said.

"Five times? Ruthless!" Even Levi could not help clicking his tongue at the figure.

Still, he understood that although they were ruthless, the townspeople had no other choice.

This place might be by the sea, with many fishermen able to catch fish.

But fish only provided protein. There was not enough oil or carbohydrates. Fishermen still needed vegetables, grains, and fats, otherwise they would become ill.

In other words, those things were necessities.

That was why the two shops dared raise grain prices so high—they knew the townspeople had no alternatives.

In fact, they would probably continue raising prices.

No, not probably.

Definitely.

Yalina asked Levi, "What should we do? Use your own money to buy back the grain and resell it to the townspeople at normal prices? That would probably cost an enormous amount."

"Buy?" Levi's lips curled upward. "What do you mean by 'buy'?"

"What do you mean? You're going to rob them?" Yalina looked at Levi excitedly.

Your emotions seem a little off.

Levi fell silent for a moment before saying, "I'm not planning to rob them! But this is wartime now. The territory must implement wartime administrative measures."

"I don't understand." This time, Yalina was the one left speechless.

Levi explained: "This is a special period. Everything within the territory must give way to the survival of the territory itself. Otherwise, that means they don't love the territory enough."

"And then?"

"And then I'll issue wartime regulations for the territory. For the sake of territorial stability, I will requisition the grain and other food supplies from those two shops at standard market prices. The territory will then distribute and sell them itself," Levi said.

"…And how much are you planning to pay? The original prices before the increases?" Yalina asked.

"Our finances are a little tight right now, so we'll issue IOUs first. I believe both shops will understand. After all, they love the territory too," Levi said. "Once the war is over, we'll repay them."

"…" Yalina was genuinely impressed.

"The forces behind those two shops are major merchant guilds and caravans. Aren't you afraid of offending them? What if no merchants come to the territory in the future?"

"They'll come," Levi said mysteriously. "For one hundred percent profit, merchants can be persuaded to sell anything—including the gallows that will hang them."

"Though it sounds exaggerated… it actually makes some sense," Yalina said after thinking about it, clearly finding his reasoning convincing.

"Then go handle it," Levi told her. "Don't worry too much! I'm here!"

"Make sure the townspeople fully understand the situation."

"And also, strictly limit the amount of food each person can purchase every day. Let them stay hungry, but not starve. If they want more food, tell them to join one of the work groups," Levi added.

"With these measures, we should be able to maintain food supplies for around twenty days. As for the remaining ten days… we'll think of another solution then," Levi said slowly.

This was not merely his own estimate.

It was the result he had obtained through Detection.

Levi already knew perfectly well the exact amount of grain stockpiled by the two shops, along with where it was being stored.

The ridiculous part was that those merchants were still raising their glasses in celebration, believing they were about to make a fortune.

Little did they know that every single thing they possessed had already been laid bare before Levi's eyes.

Their "windfall profits" would soon have nothing to do with them anymore.

Levi's eyes flickered slightly. After pondering for a moment, he said, "Once another month passes and Bittervine can be harvested, then everything will be fine."

Yalina nodded upon hearing that, but then she suddenly remembered something else.

"What about the refugees outside the town?"

"If we include them, all the grain in the town probably won't even last a week."

That truly was a problem.

Relying solely on Levi's Synthesis and the three treasures possessed by Rune was nowhere near enough to provide sufficient food each day.

So Levi began considering other food sources.

Hunting!

Levi's gaze turned toward the Mist Swamp.

If things truly became desperate, then Levi would have no choice but to personally become a hunter and enter the Mist Swamp to hunt. With Detection, he believed he would definitely return fully loaded every single time.

Perhaps that could sustain them for a while.

But if he did that, Levi would probably have to spend every day hunting from morning until night, leaving him with little time for anything else.

And Levi absolutely did not want that.

He had come here to play a territory-building lord simulation, not to become a slave.

For some reason, Levi suddenly thought of one of the pieces of intelligence revealed by Detection—the four sperm whales.

A single adult sperm whale weighed dozens of tons. The amount of edible whale meat alone would be no less than ten tons, not to mention whale oil, organs, and everything else.

If there were four sperm whales, their combined weight would amount to dozens of tons.

To exaggerate slightly, it could even exceed a hundred tons.

Add in the daily fishing catches.

Pair that with bread.

If rationed carefully…

Then surviving for a month might not be impossible.

Levi was deeply tempted.

He said to Yalina, "Leave the refugee food problem to me. Go requisition the grain from those two grain shops first. Their grain is stored at… these locations."

"If anyone resists, don't show mercy," Levi said.

"I understand." Yalina nodded.

Levi's seemingly omniscient nature had long since become something she was used to. Turning around, she left Levi's room.

The door shut automatically behind her.

Levi closed his eyes and resumed the meditation he had failed to complete earlier.

..

Meanwhile, elsewhere—

Yalina led a group of garrison soldiers along with several former military personnel from the castle to seal off the town's two grain shops.

Using nothing more than several IOUs, they prepared to haul away the stockpiled grain.

The shops had guards, including even Knight-level fighters. They refused to let Yalina take away the grain and attempted to resist.

In response, Yalina struck with full force.

The Knight-level guards from both grain shops were severely injured.

The shop personnel were stunned.

So Yalina was not merely a Knight—

She was a Great Knight.

After that, they no longer dared interfere.

However, the managers of the two shops still refused to accept it. They questioned Yalina angrily: "If the lord acts like this, isn't he afraid that no merchant caravans will ever enter his territory again in the future?"
