100X Returns: I Can Assign Quests to Anyone

Chapter 76: Ch 76: A Date

The morning sun filtered through the translucent silk curtains of the bedroom. It cast a warm, golden glow across the tangled sheets.

Raidan woke up slowly, his senses instantly filled with the soothing scent of jasmine and lotus flowers.

He simply laid there, listening to the soft, rhythmic breathing of the woman resting against his chest. Naida was still fast asleep. Her silver hair was fanned out completely across his shoulder, shimmering like precious metal in the morning light.

Raidan tightened his arm around her waist, pulling her closer. The peace of this moment was entirely alien to the chaotic life he led on Earth.

There were no system alarms blaring in his mind. There were no void monsters to fight or military factions to outsmart. There was only Naida, the quiet warmth of the apothecary, and the undeniable realization that he wanted this exact morning for the rest of his life.

Naida stirred softly against him. She let out a quiet sigh and buried her face deeper into his neck. Her amethyst eyes fluttered open, blinking away the remnants of sleep. When she finally looked up and met his gaze, a beautiful, radiant smile spread across her face.

"Good morning," she whispered, her voice still thick and heavy with sleep.

Raidan replied:

"Good morning, my love. Did you sleep well?"

"I always sleep perfectly when you are beside me. I wish every morning could begin exactly like this."

Raidan caught her hand and kissed her knuckles. His expression turned serious, filled with a profound, unwavering devotion.

"It can. I want it to. Naida, I have spent so much time fighting for survival in a broken world, but you are the only reason I want to survive at all. You are my home. I do not want to just be your lover anymore. I want to be your husband."

Naida gasped softly. Her hand froze against his chest. Her bright amethyst eyes widened in absolute shock, rapidly filling with tears of pure joy.

"Raidan, Are you truly asking me..."

"I am. I want to bind my soul to yours. I want the entire celestial city to know that you are mine and I am yours. Let us get married, Naida. Let us do it on the next full moon."

The next full moon was only two weeks away. In the realm of Olympus, the full moon was a deeply sacred time. It was the peak of celestial magic, a night where bonds forged in the moonlight were considered absolutely unbreakable.

Tears spilled over Naida’s eyelashes and rolled down her flushed cheeks. She let out a joyful sob and pushed herself up, throwing her arms around his neck and crashing her lips against his.

The kiss was desperate, passionate, and filled with a thousand unsaid promises.

"Yes, Yes, a thousand times yes. I will marry you on the next full moon."

Raidan felt a massive weight lift entirely off his shoulders. He held her tightly, laughing out loud as she peppered his face with joyous kisses.

They stayed in bed for another hour, completely wrapped in the euphoric glow of their new engagement. They whispered about their future, making quiet promises to one another as the morning sun climbed higher into the sky.

Eventually, the reality of the day began to set in. But Raidan had absolutely no intention of letting this perfect feeling slip away.

"We are taking the entire day off. No potions, no customers, no system quests, and absolutely no stress. Today is entirely about us."

Naida smiled brightly, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

"I completely agree. The shop can survive one day without me."

They walked out into the main storefront together. Naida picked up a beautifully carved wooden sign that read ’Closed for Celestial Observance’ and hung it securely on the inside of the heavy oak door. She drew the thick velvet curtains over the windows, plunging the shop into a cozy, intimate dimness.

Tommorow’s Apothecary was officially shut down.

They returned to the living quarters to dress for their day out. Naida chose a stunning summer dress made of pale blue silk that flowed gracefully around her ankles. The fabric was enchanted to shimmer faintly, resembling the surface of a calm lake under the moonlight.

She pinned her silver hair back with a delicate pearl comb, leaving a few soft tendrils to frame her beautiful face.

Raidan opted for a simple, tailored tunic of dark indigo and comfortable trousers.

He left all his weapons, his heavy leather coat, and his Master Verde persona completely behind. Today, he was just a man deeply in love with his future wife.

They stepped out of the apothecary and into the bustling streets of Olympus. The celestial city was a breathtaking marvel of magic and architecture.

Massive towers of pure white marble reached toward a vibrant azure sky. Floating islands covered in lush green vegetation drifted slowly overhead, tethered to the ground by cascading waterfalls that dissolved into sparkling mist before they ever touched the pavement. The streets were paved with smooth cobblestones that absorbed the sunlight and radiated a gentle, comforting warmth.

Raidan firmly held Naida’s hand as they navigated through the crowded market district. The citizens of Vanir were a diverse and colorful mixture of magical beings, elves, and celestial humans. Many of the local merchants recognized Naida and waved cheerfully, calling out warm greetings to the beloved apothecary. Naida smiled and waved back, proudly leaning her shoulder against Raidan’s arm.

Their first stop was a famous celestial bakery located near the edge of the crystal plaza. The air around the shop was thick with the mouthwatering aroma of caramelized sugar, roasted nuts, and sweet butter. Raidan bought them a box of starfall pastries, which were delicate, flaky confections filled with glowing, sweet nectar that tasted like wild honey and summer berries. They sat on a marble bench near a massive, bubbling fountain, sharing the pastries and watching the water dance in the sunlight.

"This is perfect," Naida hummed happily, taking a small bite of her pastry. A tiny drop of glowing nectar remained on the corner of her lip.

Raidan chuckled softly. He leaned over and gently kissed the corner of her mouth, capturing the sweet nectar for himself. "You are completely right. It is absolute perfection."

Naida blushed a deep shade of crimson, looking away shyly but squeezing his hand tightly.

After finishing their sweet breakfast, they spent hours simply exploring the magical wonders of the city. They wandered through the Arcane Bazaar, a massive open air market where merchants sold enchanted trinkets, rare spell books, and glowing gemstones.

Raidan bought Naida a beautiful silver necklace featuring a teardrop pendant made of pure crystallized starlight. He stepped behind her and clasped the delicate chain around her elegant neck. The jewel rested perfectly against her collarbone, pulsing with a soft, rhythmic light that matched the beating of her heart.

"It is incredibly beautiful, Raidan," Naida whispered, tracing the surface of the gemstone with her fingertips. "Thank you."

"But It pales in comparison to you," Raidan replied sincerely, kissing the crown of her head.

As the afternoon slowly faded into early evening, Raidan led Naida to the most romantic location in all of Olympus. The Floating Gardens of Elysium were located on a massive, suspended platform high above the city. They boarded a magical glass gondola that gently carried them up through the clouds.

When they stepped out into the gardens, the sight was genuinely breathtaking. Millions of glowing flowers bloomed in every conceivable color, their petals emitting a soft, luminescent light that pushed back the gathering dusk.

They walked hand in hand down a winding pathway made of crushed rose quartz. The magical flora reacted to their presence, blooming wider and shining brighter as they passed by, responding to the intense aura of love and happiness radiating from the couple.

They reached the edge of the floating garden, where a delicate white wrought iron balcony overlooked the entire city of Vanir.

The sun was just beginning to set below the horizon, painting the sky in vibrant shades of deep violet, burning orange, and rich magenta. The white marble towers of the city below began to glow with magical lanterns, looking like a sea of fallen stars.

Raidan stood behind Naida, wrapping his arms securely around her waist and resting his chin on her shoulder. They stood there in complete, comfortable silence, watching the sunset paint the world in glorious colors.

"Two weeks," Naida whispered softly, breaking the quiet.

She leaned her weight back against him, covering his hands with her own.

"In exactly two weeks, I will officially be yours forever."

"You are already mine, Naida. The wedding is simply a formality to let the rest of the universe know. I am going to build a completely perfect life for us, Naida. When the war on Earth is finally over, when Citadel Prime is reduced to ash and my territory is completely secure, I will spend every single waking moment making you happy."

Naida turned around in his arms, wrapping her hands around his neck. She looked up into his eyes, her expression completely serene and utterly fearless.

"I do not care about territories or wars. I only care about you. Whether we live in a grand palace or a tiny apothecary shop, my home is wherever you are standing."

Raidan felt a massive surge of emotion swell in his chest. He leaned down and captured her lips in a deep, soulful kiss beneath the twilight sky. The magic of the floating gardens swirled around them, scattering glowing petals into the gentle evening breeze.

They ended their perfect date at a high end celestial restaurant, dining on exotic delicacies and drinking sparkling wine that tasted like liquid joy. They talked about their wedding plans, deciding on a small, intimate ceremony with only their closest friends and allies present. They laughed, they shared their deepest hopes, and they completely forgot about the burdens of the outside world.

But when they finally returned to the darkened apothecary late that night, a disastrous scene greeted them.
