Yang Wei sucked in a breath and calmed down. It was alright; she would ask Bai Wenxuan to talk with Bai Meiyue and make that woman understand why she shouldn’t make an enemy out of the Old Bai family. Speaking of Bai Wenxuan, she looked around but could not see the man standing in front of her. Seeing this, she could not help but frown hard.
"Where is Brother Wenxuan?"
"He is busy at the moment." When Fox heard Yang Wei’s query, he stepped forward and looked at the woman with a cheeky smile on his lips. He was dressed in a casual outfit and was smiling at Yang Wei as if the two of them had been good friends. "Master Bai asked me to take you back to the mansion that has been arranged for you. Please follow me, Miss Yang."
When Yang Wei heard that Bai Wenxuan was busy, she was so angry that her cheeks puffed out. What was Bai Wenxuan busy with? She came to meet him, and he actually did not come to look for her. When she returned to the Bai safe base, she thought that the man would come looking for her and then hug her at once. After all, she had given a big, fat son to him! She even helped him stabilise his position in the Bai family.
Even if Bai Wenxuan was a cripple, her son was healthy and well. He was also the oldest and first great-grandson of the Bai family. Naturally, he would be given special treatment. With her son by Bai Wenxuan’s side, he would definitely survive the power battle. Why was he ignoring her instead? He should have come to look for her right away! What was he thinking?
However, even though Yang Wei was unhappy, there was nothing she could do at the moment. Bai Wenxuan had already sent Fox, and if she made a fuss, everyone would know that she was not being taken seriously by Bai Wenxuan. So she nodded with as much dignity as possible and agreed with Fox, "I understand. Brother Wenxuan has always been busy with work. We cannot do anything about this." She then turned on her feet and walked away with Fox.
However, at the moment, she had no idea that Bai Wenxuan was sitting with Xu Jinye; he was listening to the suggestions that the woman had to tell him about the safe base. When he met Xu Jinye, he never thought that this woman would have so many ideas when it came to developing a safe base. With the two of them having so much to talk about with one another, it did not take long for Bai Wenxuan to befriend Xu Jinye.
If Yang Wei had known the truth, then she would have been so furious that she would have thrown another tantrum. Not like she was not throwing one at the moment. When she arrived at the safe base, she was sure that she would have an emotional reunion with Bai Wenxuan, where he would tell her how much he missed her and how he was thankful for the child that she had given to him. But what awaited her was a mansion that was too small compared to the one where she stayed in the past.
"What is this? Why did Bai Meiyue arrange a mansion this small for me!? Ugh, call her right away and tell her that I need a bigger one!" Yang Wei turned to look at Fox and demanded. She was used to having her way, and she was now even more arrogant, thinking that Bai Meiyue would certainly try to get into her good books if she wanted to get into her aunt’s good books.
"This is all we could arrange for you at the moment, Miss Yang. You might not know, but after you moved away, there was a serious relocation and many of the ability users were given bigger and better mansions because of their contributions to the safe base. The mansion where you lived was also handed out; now only this one is left. If you make a fuss, then there is a chance that you might even lose this one." Fox naturally did not spoil her. He knew that Bai Meiyue was really upset with him and Bai Wenxuan.
They had not delivered the fighter planes and weapons to her, and the debt had been pushed back. It was only because of Old Master Bai that Bai Meiyue was giving them enough face to stay in the safe base, if not for that old man, they would have been kicked out by her long ago. How could Fox demand anything more from her? He did not dare to. Especially not for Yang Wei! This woman was troublesome enough as it was.
When Yang Wei heard that she could not get her hands on a bigger mansion, she was even more upset. First, she was kicked out by her aunt and was sent to this rotten place; second, she did not even meet with Bai Wenxuan, and now lastly, she was trapped in this small place for who knows how long. Yang Wei was so angry that she wished she could pack her bags and leave, but she knew that it was not possible.
After all, she knew that there was no place safer than this safe base. Even though it was under attack range every now and then, Bai Meiyue had enough defences to keep this place safe and livable when compared to the capital’s safe base. What was more, she had lost a lot of ability users after running away the last time; her team was so weak that she could not even think of running back to her aunt. She could only stomach this disrespect, even though it was too annoying.
"What about Brother Wenxuan? Does he have the time to see me now?" She was already settled in the mansion; strictly speaking, Bai Wenxuan should come to see her now, right?
