Chapter 781: Let Us In (II)
"Then what should we do? Are you expecting me, an old woman, to take you all and fight zombies?" Old Madam Lei asked angrily. This was the first time she had seen something so terrible. The days that she spent being trapped inside the safe base were something that she would never forget. How in the world did she even end up getting involved with those things? Wasn’t it because her son gave her the terrible idea that as long as they followed Yu Miamiao, they would be able to trap Lei Qian and his family?
In the end they were trapped and could not go anywhere. Her second son gave her such bad advice, and she, like a fool, followed him; in the end she lost even her wife as well as her army! If she had known that this was going to happen, then she would have stayed in the safe base, just like her old man asked to.
Second Aunt Lei couldn’t take it anymore. It was one thing that her mother-in-law was blaming her husband but it was another thing that she was saying such harsh words. She rolled her eyes and stated coldly, "Mother, you are being unreasonable; it’s not that we do not wish to take care of you, nor did we force you to come with us. You did it willingly. In the end, if you want to blame someone, then you can only blame elder brother. He knew that we were in a problematic situation but he never sent Ah Qian to save us. If he had come to save us, then we would have never suffered like that!"
As for what would happen to Lei Qian, Second Aunt Lei did not care about it. She simply resented that man for not coming to save them when they needed him. If he had come to save them, then they would have never suffered like that, but he did not. In the end, it was all his fault! His fault for not coming to save them!
Second Aunt Lei hated Lei Qian and couldn’t help but angrily stomp her feet a few times. Why was it that bastard who ended up awakening as a supernatural being and not her own son? If that bastard were a commoner and her son a supernatural ability user, she would have taught him a great lesson!
Her eyes flashed viciously and she said to her mother-in-law, "Mom, if you want to blame anyone, blame your eldest son and my eldest brother-in-law. He should have taken care of you as a filial son but he refused to do that since that is the case, who else can we blame but him? If you want then you should go and find trouble with him. Ask him why he did such a heartless thing and have him take care of you!"
Second Aunt Lei was also envious. Why was her elder sister-in-law living a comfortable life while she was suffering? All along she only had one wish and that was to make sure that the woman would be under her feet, but before she could even enjoy the sight of suppressing that woman and making the entire Lei family hers, the world ended and she was kicked out on the streets to suffer!
This was too much.
"You are right!" Old Madam Lei’s eyes brightened as if she realised what her second daughter-in-law was telling her. She turned her attention to the entrance of the safe base and suddenly her eyes were filled with hope

"This won’t do." Bai Meiyue looked at the countless defence equipment on the barter system and frowned hard. This was not the first time she was looking for something that could help her in protecting the safe base. However, even after looking for so long, she did not find anything, which was why she had no other choice but to collect as much dry food as possible because she was not sure whether she would be able to get defence equipment that would help them protect this safe base. But what was even more frustrating was that even when she tried her best, she couldn’t find anything.
This was the first time the barter system was failing her and Bai Meiyue did not like it in the least.
Even the people in the safe base were forced to work harder because they had no other choice but to grow as much food as possible. Because of this the wood ability users were using their energy to the point that they were about to drop dead.
"Let us in! You have to let us in!"
"Saving a life is better than building a seven-level pagoda. Why can you not let us in? You built this village to save people, did you not?"
"Please save us or else we will die."
The noise came from far away from the entrance of the village, causing Bai Meiyue in the villa to open her window and walk over to the balcony. She looked at the entrance door and frowned hard; her eyes flickered as she glanced at Lei Qian, who was sleeping on the bed and walked over. The man was still sleeping as if he could not hear a thing that was happening outside. Usually he would have sat up and rushed to fight those people for causing trouble.
She sighed, feeling a bit uncomfortable at the sight of the man lying unconscious but at least he was alive and doing well. She turned on her feet and walked toward the entrance of the villa as the sound was getting even louder. She walked outside of the mansion and saw the Lei family rushing toward the entrance.
"What is going on?"
"It’s nothing; the second branch of the Lei family has come to cause trouble." Bai Jixuan was frowning hard as he looked at the crowd that was swarming toward the entrance of their safe base. "The people from Yu Miamiao’s base were dropped not far from here, so they came here to cause trouble for us."
