Chapter 888: Harden Your Resolve
Bai Jixuan roared at the top of his lungs as he transformed his right arm into that of a gorilla and then punched the man who was trying to break the wall of their safe base. He felt furious just thinking about how these people were causing trouble for his sister when she needed peace and quiet the most. "I will kill you all, you jerks."
His heart surged with hatred, and his entire body transformed into that of a gorilla. But not just any gorilla; he was so gigantic that he could easily make King Kong worry about his height, making him conscious of his own.
"Fall back!" One of the men screamed when he saw Bai Jixuan transform into such a beast. He cursed Lu Yin and that Ning guy for lying to him. They told him that it was nothing dangerous and that, as long as he could defeat the safe base with just a few hundred ability users, they would be able to gain many resources as well as a safe base. But they never told her that the ability users in this safe base were all high-level ability users!
Looking at the situation in front of him, the man was sure that they would never be able to deal with the ability users in front of him. The ability users were too skilled!

Why were these people so difficult to kill? She thought that with how small their safe base was, it wouldn’t take time for them to wipe these people off. But who would have thought that they would end up being pushed back?
She turned to look at the ability user who had asked her to rebel against Bai Meiyue and said to him accusingly, "You said to me that they would be easy to kill. Is this what you meant by saying they were easy to kill? Look at them."

"You need to climb up." Shen Zhen felt sorry for Bai Meiyue, but she also knew that she could not help her. She pursed her lips and then said to Bai Meiyue coldly while suppressing her own sympathy. "We cannot help you. This is as far as we can go with you, but as for the rest, you will have to take care of it on your own."
Bai Meiyue looked at the stairs that she had to climb and clenched her teeth. "You guys are monsters." She knew that she had to give birth, but was there a need for them to treat her as if she were a soldier who was about to head to the front line? They had made her squat, walk and even climb down these stairs; now they wanted her to climb back up. It was simply too cruel.

She rolled her eyes and then said to the woman, "You better pick up your courage and start climbing the stairs, or else you will be in a lot of trouble."

"Yeah, men can just lie on their beds and live a good life while waiting for their child to be born." Bai Meiyue thought of the man who was lying on the bed and was filled with hatred. Damned that man. He actually left her alone in such a big ordeal.
Bai Meiyue clenched her teeth and slowly decided to climb up the stairs. She was drenched in sweat as she looked at the stairs that were in front of her with a painful expression. These stairs did not look that threatening when she was climbing down the stairs, but now that she had to climb back up, she felt like she was about to throw up.
When Yan Wanning saw the pitiful condition of her daughter, she felt inexplicably sorry for her. Damn it, her daughter used to jump down a flight of stairs without a single shred of worry or fear in her eyes, but to think that she was not worried about something so small as climbing these stairs.
