Chapter 107: Waking Up in Her Bed, I Didn’t Expect Her to Be Jealous.
"Holy shit, what’s this creature?"
I snapped my eyes open, only to see the pink slime engulfing my body like snacks. I knew it was Rwar, who was just healing my body but in this life, it was the first time I was ever meeting her, so I had to put up an act.
Rwar immediately spat me out onto the bed and moved to stand beside Lily, who was looking as cute as ever in her nightdress.
And although there was a small frown on her face, the concern was far more visible than the rage I had expected after kissing her.
"Don’t panic, Kid. You should be thanking me. It is I who saved you from your injuries. And don’t act like you haven’t noticed me before in Lily’s shadow."
Rwar said, her crystal eyes narrowing.
"I know for a fact that you did notice me every time. Not to mention how you knew about the method to undo the Manifestation. You definitely know more than you let on, don’t you?"
I didn’t reply to that and simply smiled.
"Thank you for healing me." With the same tone, I continued, "Where am I? And how much time has passed?"
Acting oblivious really was a difficult thing to do.
"We didn’t know the password to your dorm, so we brought you here." It was Lily who spoke this time.
"Oho, so you do know exactly where I live, huh? You stalker."
I smiled mischievously at her, to which her expression immediately shifted for a moment before she turned back to her usual frown.
"Hmph! As if I would stalk a weirdo like you. I was saying it figuratively. Even if I were to know where you lived, I couldn’t possibly have taken you there since we don’t know the password."
"Yeah, sure, sure."
I said smugly and I noticed Rwar seemed to be looking at Lily with a similar kind of expression.
"What happened to that octopus? She sure as hell was rude." I continued in the same tone. "I mean, what kind of summon tries to use their own contractor as a medium?"
"Don’t worry about it. It’s all taken care of. In fact, Octina is quite ashamed of her actions and has asked for your forgiveness, if you could."
Rwar replied to me immediately.
"But that creates a new problem for us..." Before Rwar could say anything more, Lily interrupted. "You now know too much about us. Not to mention, you have seen Rwar’s true form, which is supposed to be a very, very secret thing."
"I cannot let you go like this anymore."
Her gaze hardened as even Rwar looked at her in surprise. Even she was probably wondering what Lily meant.
Yes, Rwar was kind of one of a kind. She was probably one of the oldest spirits who were still alive to this day. She was one of the only ones who knew spells from different domains and more importantly, she was the strongest of all the summons Lily would ever have.
But the form she was currently showing was her weakest slime form.
A pink slime.
If a person were to even see her, they would probably shrug her off as a weak mortal rank summon rather than recognize her as the leader of the primordial spirits.
So, that was by no means a secret and yet Lily looked so serious. Even I couldn’t help but wonder what she was planning.
"Secret?!"
I whispered as a cold smile appeared on Lily’s face.
"Yes, a great secret in fact." She continued in the same tone. "You might not know this but a summon’s identity is quite important for a summoner, especially when it’s a special summon like my dear Rwar here. She is one of a kind and can do many things and she is even capable of free speech."
What is she doing?!
Lily was anything but dumb and now she was listing Rwar’s specialties to me without me even asking for them.
But despite my surprise, she continued.
"If people, especially those in higher positions, were to know of her existence, they would capture me and even my lovely Rwar since I don’t even have a significant background like you."
"They could even conduct all kinds of experiments on us."
...At this point, I was seriously lost.
She was spiralling without a break and considering scenarios that wouldn’t even come true.
"So, are you planning to kill me or what?"
I asked, even though I knew she would never do that.
"No, no. I am not like that. Why would you even say something like that?" She immediately corrected me. "What I mean is simple."
I listened to her intently and even Rwar seemed as invested as me at this point.
"And that is?"
She waited for a moment before her expression turned completely serious.
"You must never meet that princess alone ever again."
"Sorry, what?!" Before I could even express my surprise, Rwar blurted it out. "Ahem, excuse me. She is correct."
She immediately let out a cough and joined in on whatever little act Lily was pulling.
I looked at the pink slime before turning to Lily, who was looking far too serious, before a chuckle escaped my lips.
"And how is that supposed to help you keep it a secret?"
I just couldn’t help but laugh.
"W-wait, wait, why are you laughing? I am completely serious here, you weirdo." She pouted, her face reddening slightly as she realized what she had just done.
"I said stop laughing already."
"I-if you meet with that princess alone, I have no idea what you could tell her, and who knows, you might even share details about my Rwar... or about what happened today."
"S-so that was the only reason I asked for such demands because I don’t trust that Princess. There wasn’t anything else."
She tried explaining herself with that blushed face, which only made me laugh even more. Even Rwar couldn’t help but let out a few suppressed chuckles.
I didn’t even know when was the last time I had laughed so freely, but at this damn moment...
...Lily somehow looked incredibly cuter than her normal cute self. Despite not having her memories yet... she really was the same Lily I had fallen for.
