The night sky over New York shimmered like liquid diamond.
From the glass spire of Parker Tower, the city stretched outward in an endless sea of soft lights and quiet life. A far cry from the chaos that had consumed it a few days ago.
Inside, laughter and music filled the air.
The grand atrium was alive. A celebration of victory, unity and rebirth. Tables laden with food from every corner of the world formed a tapestry of culture and camaraderie.
The Avengers mingled freely with Wakandan royalty, Spartan IV officers and families of those who had fought beside Peter. Tony was already three glasses deep into what he called "Victory Fuel." while Rhodey tried in vain to confiscate it.
Fury stood near the bar, one eye scanning the crowd with an expression that looked suspiciously close to pride. Agent Hill leaned beside him, smirking.
"Didn't think you'd ever come to a party, sir."
"I'm here to make sure Stark doesn't redecorate the city with fireworks." Fury muttered while drinking Champagne.
Laughter roared as Happy Hogan and Frank Castle arm-wrestled over a table reinforced by titanium. Pepper tried to stop them but was too busy fending off Tony's attempts to turn the arm-wrestling match into a pay-per-view charity event.
Nearby, Queen Ramonda and Shuri exchanged pleasantries with Aunt May, who true to form had already convinced half the Wakandan kitchen staff to try her lasagna recipe.
It wasn't just a victory party.
It was Peter's 21st birthday. His first as a man who'd carried the world and still found the strength to smile.
Peter POV:
The warmth of it all hit me like sunlight after a long winter.
Every laugh, every glass raised, every story told rejuvenated me. It wasn't just noise. It was life.
For the first time in what felt like years, there was no crisis waiting outside the window.
Just people.
Just peace.
Gwen was across the room, talking with Shuri and Pepper. The way her laughter mixed with the music, it pulled my gaze towards her every time.
Her white dress shimmered under the lights, a soft red tint along the lining. It was her color. The same red that painted her nails, her lips.
That color had always meant more than danger or power.
It meant her.
The music softened. The crowd began to gather around the cake.
Tony led the chant. It was loud, off-key and utterly shameless. "🎶 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEAR PARKER — YOU TECHNOMANIAC FREAK. 🎶"
Everyone joined in laughter, clapping as Gwen handed me the knife. The cake, a triple-layered chocolate monstrosity designed by Shuri and May and it looked almost too perfect to cut.
Almost.
I blew out the candles. The room cheered.
And then I turned... heart thundering.... towards Gwen.
She blinked when I didn't go for the cake.
Instead, I stepped forward, taking her hand.
The crowd quieted.
My voice was soft but steady and carried through the quiet room.
"Gwen Stacy." I began, smiling despite the tremor in my hands,
"When I first met you, I was a kid trying to understand the world. And you..." I exhaled, meeting her eyes, "...you didn't just make me understand it. You made me want to make it better."
"You've fought beside me when the world fell apart, you've yelled at me when I forgot to sleep and you've kissed me every time I thought I couldn't keep going."
A small ripple of laughter moved through the crowd. Gwen blushed, shaking her head. "You're not seriously..."
I went down on one knee. The world seemed to still.
From my pocket, I drew a small case. It was silver and simple. When it opened, a ruby ring caught the light, glowing like a captured star.

"You've always said you liked red." I murmured, voice low, heart pounding.
"So I found the one piece of the universe that matched the fire you carry inside your heart."
Gwen's hand flew to her mouth, eyes glassy, breath trembling.
I continued, my voice softer now, every word honest, raw.
"You once told me I build things to fix the world. But the truth is Gwen, the only thing I've ever wanted to build… is a life with you."
"I may not always have the answers. I may mess up more than I should. But if you'll let me, I'll spend every tomorrow proving that you're the best thing I ever did right."
The room fell utterly silent.
"Gwendolyn Maxine Stacy, will you be my wife?" I asked her.
Then Gwen laughed. Half tears, half joy and practically launched herself into my arms.
"Yes! Yes, you idiot, of course yes!"
The room erupted. Cheers, applause, whistles.
Tony shouted, "Finally! I was starting to think we'd need a prenup just to speed things up!"
Pepper elbowed him. "Speaking of prenups, Tony… when am I getting my ring?"
Tony froze. "Wait... what? Hold on, this isn't my...
"
The crowd howled with laughter. Gwen's cheeks flushed as she kissed me again, long and deep, I slipped the ruby ring into her fingers, it was catching the light like a burning promise.
Later That Night
As the music swelled again and the laughter resumed, Gwen leaned close to me, her voice soft enough only I could hear.
"You know," Dhe whispered, "you just proposed in front of the most powerful people on Earth."
I grinned. "Well, if the world ever ends again, at least I'll have witnesses."
She rolled her eyes and kissed me again and for the first time in forever, the world outside didn't matter.
Because in that moment, surrounded by family, friends and the people we fought so hard to save the only universe that existed was the one reflected in Gwen's eyes.
