Chapter 327: Yahiko Refuses
The heavy voice of Obito reverberated within the chamber, laden with both conviction and deep-seated hatred. The shadows of the past relentlessly haunted him, forging a heart that was at once fragile and unyielding, soft and hard, as though grief and rage had intertwined into one.
Now Obito had come to Amegakure, his intent clear: to sway the three young leaders of Akatsuki into his cause. The single eye glimmering behind his mask burned with steely determination, emanating a chilling aura that seemed to freeze the very air inside the room.
“Uchiha Madara? That man has long been dead!” Nagato retorted brusquely, his voice sharp and cold, laced with restrained fury. The rippling rings of the Rinnegan narrowed, as though his very gaze sought to pierce through the falsehood carried by the masked man before them.
“You think I, Uchiha Madara, am dead? Hahaha… how amusing!” The masked man’s deep voice thundered through the chamber, accompanied by a hollow, arrogant laugh that echoed against the damp stone walls. “All this time, I have kept watch over the shinobi world. I have observed, monitored, and judged every development in this wretched age!”
“Konoha was founded by me and Hashirama. Yet in the end, Hashirama was chosen as the First Hokage. With our combined might, we captured every Tailed Beast!” Obito paused, his hidden eye flashing coldly from behind the spiral mask.
His hand rose slowly, fingers curling as if grasping at the shadows of the past. The atmosphere of the chamber thickened instantly, each syllable he spoke pressing down upon the three like an invisible weight upon their chests.
“But in the end, Hashirama chose to distribute the Tailed Beasts to the other great villages!” Obito’s voice climbed, swelling with rage and bitterness that cut like jagged glass. “It was sheer foolishness! Though Hashirama claimed he did so to preserve peace and balance among the great villages, what proof did we see of that!? The First Great Ninja War erupted!”
Obito dipped his head slightly, only to lift it again with a searing glare, his single eye like a blade stabbing at their very will. “Had Hashirama not scattered the Tailed Beasts—those sacred instruments meant to safeguard peace—the world would have already known true peace long ago!”
“Yahiko. Nagato. Konan. I have been watching you for a long time. I know your hearts burn with the desire to bring peace to the shinobi world… and to your village, Amegakure.” Obito advanced a step, his voice deepening, wrapping itself around them like a serpent’s whisper, dark and insidious, the hiss of a devil planting venom into the soul. “Join me. Together, we can gather the Tailed Beasts and forge an everlasting peace!”
Obito’s words spilled forth like a torrential flood, relentless and commanding, cloaked in a guise of certainty and manipulation. He cloaked himself in the name of Uchiha Madara, weaving tales of the First Great Ninja War, of Hashirama’s failures, and of his own grand design—what he proclaimed to be the only true path toward world peace. His rhetoric poured like the unceasing rains of Amegakure, seeking to soak into the hearts of the three young leaders, to drown them in his vision.
But alas—
“I refuse.”
Yahiko stood tall, his posture unshaken, his eyes ablaze with unwavering determination. His voice rang out like thunder, cutting through the damp air with a clarity that could not be ignored.
“I do not know whether you are truly Madara Uchiha or not. Even if you are, I will not join you.” Yahiko’s words resounded fiercely, each syllable striking with the weight of unbreakable resolve.
“It is common knowledge that Madara Uchiha was a madman, driven by his obsession with dominating the world. But peace for the entire shinobi world can be achieved without subjugation and conquest.” Yahiko, the true leader of Akatsuki, declared with bold defiance, his voice firm and resolute.
His fists clenched tightly at his sides, his body leaning forward with fearless conviction. Every motion radiated the certainty that no word uttered by the masked man could ever shake his belief.
“Hmph! Perhaps for now, you children can continue playing at peace, clinging to your fleeting ideals. But one day… one day you will come to realize that only true peace, the kind I offer, is what this world truly needs!” Obito’s voice boomed with finality, sharp and commanding, as if he were sealing his vow into the walls themselves.
