"Another Sylveon, just like Princess Magearna's…"
Still unaware of Sora's intentions, Korrina focused all her attention on Sylveon.
In the current era, Korrina was already among the few Trainers who had some understanding of Sylveon.
The Azoth Kingdom had a long tradition of raising Sylveon.
However, even so, Korrina didn't actually know much about this Eeveelution.
Not just her—even Trainers like Princess Magearna, who personally owned Sylveon, were still mostly confused about this rare evolution of Eevee.
"Princess Magearna also has a Sylveon."
Sora asked,
"Have you battled her before?"
"We sparred a few times."
Korrina had some experience dealing with Sylveon—
though only superficially.
Most of her responses relied purely on instinct.
"Senior, do you know what that pink energy is?"
The girl still vividly remembered how Princess Magearna's Sylveon's attacks had overwhelmingly suppressed her Pokémon.
"That's Fairy-type energy."
"Fairy-type?"
Korrina had never heard of such an attribute.
She originally thought it was merely some special move effect or unusual energy variation.
She never imagined Sora would casually reveal information regarding an eighteenth Pokémon type.
"Yeah. How should I explain it…"
Sora said:
"It's a newly discovered attribute that hasn't yet been officially recognized by the academic world."
"Pokémon like Clefairy's evolutionary line, Togepi, Ralts, and Marill all possess what can be considered Fairy typing in addition to their original attributes."
"But Marill is Water-type."
Korrina blinked.
"And Ralts too—so besides Psychic-type, it actually has a secondary typing?"
"These theories will probably be officially published through the Pokémon League sometime next year."
Sora continued:
"Right now, they're still in the thesis-writing phase."
The girl didn't doubt Sora's words in the slightest.
Instead, her admiration for him deepened even further.
The boy before her wasn't merely a powerful Trainer capable of capturing Legendary Pokémon—his academic knowledge also surpassed modern understanding entirely.
'So this is what a truly powerful Trainer is like?'
'Flawless…'
"By the way."
Sora added:
"Fairy-type has double effectiveness against Fighting-type. Keep that in mind."
"Yes!"
Korrina immediately understood.
Sora was deliberately sharing Sylveon's information because he didn't want to take advantage of her unfairly.
'As expected of Senior Sora.'
'Being able to learn battling from him is incredible.'
To Korrina, Sora's guidance was just as valuable as victory itself.
"Begin."
As Sora announced the start of battle, Korrina took a deep breath and swung her arm forward.
"Mienfoo, we strike first!"
Now that she knew the type disadvantage existed, Korrina refused to hesitate.
As the saying went—hesitation leads to defeat.

Mienfoo moved extremely quickly.
This species already possessed a naturally small and agile body.
Korrina's particular Mienfoo was even more specialized toward speed.

In the next instant, Mienfoo rapidly darted around the battlefield.
In the blink of an eye, it had already appeared before Sylveon and struck out with a palm attack.

a priority move that only worked immediately after entering battle.

Sylveon actually looked a little disappointed.

Sylveon revealed a playful expression and winked at Mienfoo.

At the same time, glowing life energy drifted from its body toward Sylveon, restoring the tiny amount of stamina she had lost from Fake Out earlier.

Korrina cried out in shock.
"How was that so fast?!"
Draining Kiss was a move that restored HP after dealing damage.
That was exactly why Sora had ordered Sylveon to intentionally take Fake Out earlier.

Sylveon's Draining Kiss activation speed had clearly exceeded Korrina's expectations.
Otherwise, there was no way her speed-specialized Mienfoo would've failed to dodge.

If only one Pokémon showed this trait, it might just be natural talent.

That proved only one thing.
Sora possessed some kind of secret method for increasing move execution speed!
