Sora rubbed his future brother-in-law's head.

There was no way Sora was letting a beautiful rich woman like Kimia end up with someone else.

Calling him that in advance was perfectly reasonable.

"Big Brother Sora, are you going to challenge Gyms?"

"And Magearna will battle too, right?"

"Mhm."

Sora nodded.

"I already promised Magearna and the others."

"Then…"

"Could you record videos of Magearna battling?"

"I really want to see how magnificent Magearna looks in combat!"

Raleigh truly adored Magearna.

Not in the sense of wanting to possess her—

but more like a child who grew up hearing stories about a legendary hero and came to idolize them.

Just imagining his idol shining brilliantly on the battlefield already made him excited.

"It's a shame I'm still too young."

"Otherwise I'd go cheer for Magearna in person."

"Ahhh, what a pity…"

"Haha."

Sora laughed.

"You'll get the chance eventually."

"Maybe someday I'll go challenge the Kalos League."

"When that happens, you and your sister can come cheer for us in person."

"Mhm! Mhm!"

Raleigh nodded repeatedly, already imagining that future scene.

The next day, Kimia, Raleigh, and Flamel all came to see Sora off.

"Are you really sure you don't want me to fly you there?"

"If I flew there, it wouldn't count as traveling anymore."

Sora politely declined Kimia's offer.

His planned route was to cross the Nebel Plateau, arrive at Shalour City, then take a ship to the Galar region.

This time, he wasn't taking a plane.

He didn't want to miss the scenery along the journey.

Most importantly—

Sora was no longer as anxious as before.

Whether he could find Calyrex in the Crown Tundra was ultimately a matter of luck.

And Sora had already prepared himself for a long-term effort.

If once wasn't enough, then twice.

If twice wasn't enough, then three times, four times—

until the day he finally encountered Calyrex.

As for Magearna, Ogerpon, and Victini—

Sora had scheduled roughly a month and a half for this Crown Tundra journey.

Actually, that was even longer than the one month he'd told Kimia.

The weather today was nice.

After noon, Sora decided to find a place to camp.

He spread a large white cloth across the grass and, together with Buneary, began preparing food for everyone.

Magearna played among the flowers nearby.

Victini had flown off somewhere unknown.

Sora estimated that once mealtime arrived, the little glutton would naturally come back on her own.

Volcanion rested beneath the shade while discussing battle techniques with Ogerpon.

Lilligant stayed inside the tent taking care of the still-unhatched Pokémon Egg.

Meanwhile, Amaura and Sylveon were greeting nearby wild Pokémon and casually gathering information about the surrounding area.

The Nebel Plateau was enormous.

And Azoth itself was located in the eastern region.

Even Volcanion's territory leaned more toward the east.

"Right now, I should be somewhere around here."

Based on timing and travel direction, Sora roughly estimated his current position.

"Northwestern area."

"Not sure exactly where though. I'll have to wait for Vee to get back."

Though honestly…

would Victini really bring back useful information?

Sora felt there was a much higher chance she'd simply gone off to play.

"Well, whatever."

Even if they got no information, it didn't matter.

Sora wasn't Ash and company.

He wasn't the type to get hopelessly lost and wander into bizarre places every trip.

His sense of direction was actually excellent.

And with several absurdly overpowered battle forces traveling alongside him, there was absolutely no risk of getting trapped somewhere on the Nebel Plateau.

Meanwhile, somewhere Sora didn't know about—

Victini was flying through the sky.

The little Pokémon carried several berries she'd apparently gathered somewhere, planning to bring them back to Sora and receive praise from him.

Suddenly, Victini noticed movement within the forest below.

It seemed like a human was rapidly moving through the woods.

"Bi!"

Victini concealed herself and quickly flew into the forest.

Landing on a tree branch, she finally saw the situation below clearly.

There was a blonde girl who looked around twelve or thirteen years old, wearing a strange hat and a red-and-white athletic outfit.

On her feet were roller skates.

No wonder she was moving so quickly.

Victini suddenly understood.

So it was because of those shoes.

"Luca!"

Abruptly, the blue humanoid Pokémon following behind the girl stopped moving.

"Lucario, what are you doing?!"

"Hurry up and run!"

Behind the pair, deep within the forest, countless crimson eyes stared at them relentlessly.

It was a swarm of Beedrill.

The girl was named Korrina.

This year, she had officially inherited the position of Shalour City's Gym Leader from her grandfather.

Not long ago, she had heard shocking news.

The Azoth Kingdom had nearly fallen into civil unrest.

Minister Jarvis attempted rebellion, only to be exposed by the princess and subsequently arrested for transport to a League prison.

Korrina had been deeply worried about Kimia and originally planned to personally visit Azoth.

Unfortunately, her Gym duties forced her to delay the trip.

Thankfully, Kimia later contacted her through her communicator and explained the kingdom's situation, assuring her that everything had been perfectly resolved.

Only then had Korrina finally relaxed.

And because of that, she had resumed training with Lucario.

As for the result of that training…

Lucario's Aura Sphere had accidentally blown apart part of a Beedrill hive.

Although Korrina had desperately apologized and even offered Pokémon food as compensation—

the Beedrill completely ignored her.

Enraged, they chased her relentlessly, forcing her into a frantic escape attempt.

Any trainer with wilderness experience had probably been bullied by Beedrill at some point.

This Bug-type Pokémon was spread practically everywhere across the world.

Korrina's Lucario wasn't weak.

By Sora's standards, it was probably around Level 40—

easily the ace level of an elite trainer.

But there were simply too many Beedrill.

Thirty or forty of them—

even averaging only Level 20-something—

wasn't something Korrina could handle alone.

"Luca…"

After Korrina shouted at him, Lucario finally snapped back to attention.

Unfortunately, that brief hesitation allowed the Beedrill swarm to completely surround them.
