Chapter 118: Zenith Paradox
The transition from the deep, suffocating static of the Void Sea to the upper leylines of the celestial network was violently abrupt.
The Tartarus Leviathan, flanked by its three massive Void-iron dreadnoughts, conceptually tore through the final dimensional barrier. The heavy, gray fog of the static instantly evaporated, replaced by an expanse of pure, unadulterated white light.
They had reached the apex of the Pantheon.
Before them lay the capital of the Choirs, the true seat of the Goddess Aurelia’s power. But they could not see the sprawling marble cathedrals, the floating gardens, or the spires of woven sunlight.
The entire Sphere of Radiance was encased in the Zenith Gates.
It was not a physical wall of stone or metal. It was a colossal, perfect sphere of hyper-condensed mathematical law. The barrier was woven from blinding, Exalted-tier solid light that slowly rotated, projecting complex, reality-anchoring equations across the heavens. It was the ultimate, absolute firewall.
On the bridge of the super-dreadnought, the ambient temperature plummeted.
"The Zenith Gates," Elyssia whispered, stepping up to the massive forward viewport. The Demigoddess of Abyssal Law folded her ten obsidian-silver wings tightly against her back, her golden eyes reflecting the blinding light of her former home. "It is mathematically flawless. The Goddess Aurelia wove her own foundational leylines into that barrier. It does not just repel kinetic force, Master. It rejects unauthorized concepts entirely."
"So, if we ram it..." Seraphina purred, leaning against the heavy iron bulkhead and casually spinning her Eclipse Breaker.
"We wouldn’t crash, Vanguard," Ariel answered, her strategic mind rapidly analyzing the sensor data pouring into the tactical map. "We would simply cease to exist. The barrier mathematically deletes any variable it does not recognize as absolute truth."
Kaelen stood at the center of the bridge, his heavy dark mantle shifting slightly as he crossed his heavily muscled arms. The deep violet runes of his Level 117 Primordial Sovereign core pulsed with a slow, world-ending rhythm. He did not look at the barrier with awe. He looked at it like a localized nuisance.
"A perfect mathematical shield," Kaelen rumbled, the heavy resonance of his voice cutting through the tense silence of the bridge. "But perfection is rigid. It cannot adapt to a lie."
Kaelen turned his pitch-black eyes to the primary engineering console.
"Grand Architect."
Elara Vance was practically foaming at the mouth with manic, unadulterated anticipation. The alchemist was fully jacked into the dreadnought’s logic matrix, her emerald eyes entirely whited out, her alchemical brands burning a radioactive violet.
"The Artery is primed, my Demigod!" Elara shrieked, her fingers dancing across the corrupted console in a blur of motion. "The three Mythic-tier logic cores we stripped from the Exalted Behemoths are fully integrated into the firing chamber. They are currently screaming in mathematical agony as I forcefully mix them with the Original Sin!"
"Explain the payload, Elara," Ariel commanded, her corrupted blue eyes narrowing.
"It’s a localized paradox, Commander!" Elara giggled, her voice dropping to a terrifyingly breathless whisper. "The Zenith Gates are designed to process and delete dark mana. But what happens if we fire a hyper-condensed beam of pure Exalted logic that mathematically insists the Abyss is the true foundation? The barrier’s code won’t just block it. It will try to solve it. And when a perfect machine tries to solve an impossible equation..."
"It breaks," Elyssia finished, a slow, dark smile spreading across her pale lips.
Kaelen stepped forward, the sheer, intoxicating gravity of his presence actively anchoring the entire dreadnought. He rested his calloused hand heavily on Elara’s shoulder.
"Crack the sky, Elara," Kaelen commanded.
"Firing the Zenith Paradox!" Elara screamed, violently slamming both of her soot-stained hands down onto the primary detonators.
The super-dreadnought groaned. The colossal, glowing cylindrical cannon mounted beneath the prow of The Tartarus Leviathan did not unleash a deafening boom. Instead, it pulled all the ambient sound out of the dimension, creating a localized vacuum of absolute silence.
Then, it fired.
The beam was conceptually terrifying to look at. It was not light, and it was not dark. It was a violently churning spiral of blinding white celestial logic aggressively intertwined with heavy, necrotic violet Abyssal rot. It tore through the empty space, leaving a trail of shattered reality in its wake, and struck the absolute center of the Zenith Gates.
The impact was entirely silent.
For three agonizing seconds, nothing happened. The massive sphere of blinding light simply absorbed the beam.
Up on the bridge, Seraphina frowned. "Did it misfire?"
"Watch the math," Elyssia whispered, her golden eyes wide.
Suddenly, the perfect, unyielding light of the Zenith Gates violently violently flickered.
The complex equations projected across the sphere began to aggressively stutter. The barrier was actively trying to process the localized paradox. The Exalted logic cores within the beam were mathematically demanding entry, bypassing the firewall’s initial rejection, but the payload of the Original Sin was simultaneously injecting absolute chaos directly into the Goddess’s foundation.
The mathematical engine of heaven stalled.
A single, localized hairline fracture of deep, Abyssal black appeared at the point of impact.
Then, it cascaded.
A deafening, apocalyptic sound of shattering glass tore through the dimension. The fracture aggressively spread across the entire colossal sphere. The blinding white light violently flashed violet, and then the absolute mathematical perfection of the Zenith Gates completely, catastrophically shattered.
Millions of tons of solid, Exalted-tier light exploded outward, dissolving into harmless, sparking dust as the conceptual law of the barrier was entirely unmade.
The shockwave rocked the Abyssal fleet, but Ariel’s Legion’s Authority effortlessly absorbed the kinetic blow.
As the dust settled, the true Sphere of Radiance was finally exposed.
It was a realm of unimaginable, sprawling beauty. Golden continents floating on seas of silver clouds, towering cathedrals that pierced the upper atmosphere, and at the absolute center, the colossal, burning Spire of the Goddess.
But the beauty was already bleeding. The sky was bruising with the heavy, localized gravity of the Abyssal Emperor’s arrival.
"The gates are down," Lyriel reported, melting out of the shadow of the main console. "Master... I am detecting millions of logic signatures within the Sphere. The surviving Choirs are heavily entrenched."
"They have nowhere else to run," Kaelen rumbled, drawing his Void-Steel longsword. The catastrophic black fire violently violently ignited, eager to burn the pristine marble of the capital.
Kaelen looked at his vanguard. The Ascendant Court had arrived.
"Ariel. Advance the fleet into their holy airspace," Kaelen broadcasted, his voice dripping with absolute, undeniable sovereignty. "We do not accept surrenders today. We are going to unmake their religion."
