Chapter 88: Absolute Pacifism vs. Abyssal Sin
The descent into the Vault of the First Sin felt less like exploring a library and more like walking down the throat of a colossal, petrified beast.
Gone were the floating platforms of pristine glass and the sterile, geometric bridges of blue mana. The spiraling staircase was carved from porous, off-white material that looked and sounded sickeningly like ancient bone. The air was thick, suffocating, and smelled heavily of copper, dried blood, and centuries of undisturbed rot.
"The leylines down here are a mess, Master," Elara whispered, holding her glowing alchemical rods aloft to cast a dim, violet light over the jagged walls. Her usually manic voice was hushed, laced with a rare, genuine apprehension. "It’s not just dark mana. It’s... twisted holy mana. It feels like a wound that the Goddess intentionally refused to heal."
"She buried her shame," he rumbled, his pitch-black eyes cutting through the gloom. "And shame is always heavy."
Seraphina walked point, her massive Eclipse Breaker drawn. The catastrophic black fire that usually roared along the edge of her greatsword was reduced to a low, hungry simmer, actively suppressed by the suffocating weight of the ancient vault.
"I hear weeping," Seraphina hissed, her corrupted golden eyes narrowing as they reached the bottom of the spiraling bone staircase.
They stepped out into a cavernous, subterranean chamber.
It was a graveyard of rejected reality. Sprawled across the cavern floor were hundreds of massive, malformed statues of angels. But they were not made of stone. They were petrified flesh, frozen in states of eternal, agonizing mutation. Some had too many wings; others had limbs fused together in grotesque, impossible geometry.
They were the Goddess’s first, failed drafts of the celestial host.
And standing in the center of the graveyard, guarding a massive pair of heavy, lead doors, was the Warden.
It was an angel, but it possessed none of the terrifying, militaristic beauty of the Inquisitors or the Vanguard. It was impossibly tall, skeletal, and entirely draped in a shroud of pure, blinding white light. It had no face—no eyes, no mouth, no features at all. Above its head floated a halo made of solid, weeping gold.

[Entity: The Warden of Pacifism (Level 120).]
[Status: Dormant.]
As his Void-Steel boots clicked against the bone floor, the Warden’s faceless head snapped toward them.
It did not draw a weapon. It simply raised its skeletal hands.
[Domain Triggered: Absolute Pacifism.]
A wave of suffocating, blinding white light violently washed over the entire cavern. It didn’t push them back. It didn’t burn them. Instead, a terrifying, unnatural tranquility settled over the room. The ambient air grew entirely perfectly still.
Seraphina snarled, her bloodlust instantly overriding the magical calm. "A brittle scarecrow," the Vanguard hissed. "I will shatter it."
She lunged forward, moving with the terrifying, kinetic speed of an Exalted-tier Demigoddess. She swung the Eclipse Breaker in a devastating horizontal arc aimed directly at the Warden’s skeletal neck.
The blade didn’t connect.
The moment the hyper-dense void-diamond edge was about to strike the angel, the sword effortlessly phased right through its neck, as if the Warden was made of mist.
Simultaneously, a massive, jagged gash violently tore open across Seraphina’s own pale shoulder. Golden blood sprayed across the petrified bone floor.
Seraphina gasped, stumbling backward, dropping to one knee as the kinetic force of her own swing forcefully hit her own body.
"Seraphina!" he barked, stepping forward, the heavy gravity of his aura flaring to suppress the bleeding.
"I... I didn’t hit it," she gritted out, her golden eyes wide with shock and fury as she clutched her bleeding shoulder. "The blade passed right through, but the impact... it hit me."
Elara’s emerald eyes whited out as she frantically parsed the ambient leylines.
"Master! It’s a conceptual mirror trap!" Elara panicked, stepping behind him. "The domain of ’Absolute Pacifism’ mathematically outlaws the concept of violence! Any kinetic intent directed at the Warden is instantly recalculated and redirected directly onto the attacker! If you strike it, you strike yourself! We can’t punch our way through this!"
Kaelen’s eyes narrowed. He looked at the skeletal Warden, which remained perfectly still, its blank, faceless head silently mocking their Abyssal nature.
"The Goddess thinks peace is simply the absence of violence," Kaelen whispered, a cold, deeply predatory smirk slowly curling his lips. "But she fundamentally misunderstands the nature of her enemies. We do not just conquer with swords, Elara."
He stepped in front of the kneeling Seraphina.
"Put the sword away, Vanguard," the Emperor commanded smoothly.
Seraphina, panting and confused, instantly banished the Eclipse Breaker back into her spatial ring.
"Violence is banned in this room," he stated, his voice dropping to a heavy, resonant purr that actively vibrated the bone floor beneath them. "So we will not use violence. We will use passion."
He reached down and forcefully grabbed Seraphina by the hips, pulling her up against his heavily muscled chest. The Demigoddess let out a sharp, involuntary gasp as the overwhelming, intoxicating density of his Primordial Sovereign core pressed directly against her.
"M-Master?" Seraphina breathed, her cheeks flushing with sudden, violent heat.
He didn’t answer. He wrapped one massive hand around the back of her neck, tilting her head up, and crushed his lips against hers.
It wasn’t a gentle kiss. It was an aggressive, dominant invasion of her senses. He actively engaged his God-Eater authority, but instead of drawing mana out, he forcefully injected a hyper-condensed surge of raw, Abyssal lust directly into Seraphina’s Ascendant core.
Seraphina violently arched her back, a muffled, euphoric moan tearing from her throat into Kaelen’s mouth. The catastrophic black fire that had been suppressed by the room’s pacifying light violently violently erupted from her skin, fueled not by anger or kinetic intent, but by pure, unfiltered devotion and primal sin.
The localized domain of the room immediately began to shudder.
[Warning: High-Density Paradox Detected.]
[Conceptual Conflict: ’Absolute Pacifism’ vs. ’Abyssal Sin’.]
The Warden’s domain was designed to counter hatred. It was a mathematical formula built to redirect the kinetic energy of a swinging blade or a hurled curse. It possessed absolutely no algorithms to process or redirect the staggering, overwhelming weight of a Demigod intimately bonding with his Vanguard.
The sheer conceptual density of their passion—the raw, physical intimacy of the Abyss—acted like a localized virus in the pristine holy network.
The skeletal Warden violently twitched. The golden halo above its head began to spark and rot, the perfect white light of the room flickering aggressively as the mathematical engine desperately tried to categorize the chaotic influx of lust.
"Keep going, Master!" Elara shrieked in absolute delight, watching the leylines buckle. "You’re short-circuiting its logic core! The mathematical engine can’t process the sin!"
He broke the kiss, a string of dark saliva connecting their lips. He looked down into Seraphina’s corrupted golden eyes. They were completely dilated, swimming with an intoxicating, overwhelming high.
"Are you still hungry, my Vanguard?" he whispered roughly, his thumb tracing her swollen lower lip.
"Starving," Seraphina purred, her voice dripping with a terrifying, manic euphoria.
"The ward is broken," he smirked, releasing her hips. "Eat."
Seraphina didn’t draw her sword. She launched herself forward like a feral beast.
The Warden, its logic core completely overwhelmed by the conceptual paradox of their intimacy, could not re-engage the mirror-trap in time. Seraphina slammed into the skeletal angel, her dragon-glass gauntlets violently piercing directly through the blinding white light of its chest.
She gripped its divine core and, with a terrifying, euphoric roar, forcefully ripped it entirely out of the angel’s body.
The Warden let out a silent, staticky scream as its physical form instantly collapsed into a pile of gray, petrified ash.

[Domain of Absolute Pacifism shattered.]
Seraphina stood over the ashes, crushing the glowing white core in her fist, letting the residual holy mana violently violently burn away in her black fire. She turned back to Kaelen, licking a drop of golden plasma from her knuckle, her chest heaving.
"A flawless strategy, my Demigod," she smiled, her bleeding shoulder already stitching itself back together under the immense healing factor of her Ascendant core.
He dusted his hands, walking past the shattered remains of the Warden toward the massive, lead doors it had been protecting.
"Every law has a loophole," he rumbled, looking up at the heavy, unadorned metal.
He placed both hands on the heavy lead and pushed. The doors ground open with the agonizing scream of rusted hinges that hadn’t moved in ten thousand years.
He stepped into the final chamber of the Vault, ready to see the face of the Goddess’s original sin.
