Chapter 86: Archive of Fate
The interior of the Sphere of Knowledge did not look like a library; it looked like the inside of a colossal, divine clockwork engine.
As the Abyssal Void-Cruiser glided through the hexagonal silver gate, the localized physics of the dimension immediately shifted. There was no gravity here, only mathematical buoyancy. Millions of floating, translucent glass platforms drifted through the endless expanse, connected by bridges of pure, flowing blue mana that moved with rigid, geometric perfection.
Above, below, and all around them, towering crystalline monoliths stored the localized histories of entire mortal worlds. Millions of Seraphs—faceless, floating geometric constructs of silver and blue light—moved in absolute, terrifying silence, constantly cataloging the past, present, and the calculated future.
"It’s... it’s completely sterile," Seraphina muttered, standing on the bridge of the Void-Cruiser, her corrupted golden eyes narrowing in absolute disgust. "There is no passion here. No blood. Just rigid equations."
"That is because the Second Choir does not fight, Seraphina," he rumbled from his jagged throne, his pitch-black eyes scanning the infinite expanse. "They calculate. They believe that if they can mathematically solve every possible variable in the cosmos, they will never have to draw a sword."
At the navigation console, Elara was shivering in pure, unadulterated ecstasy.
"Master, the ambient leyline flow is staggering!" Elara shrieked, her emerald eyes violently churning with overlapping celestial formulas as her alchemical brands actively siphoned the ambient holy energy. "They aren’t just storing books! They are constantly running localized illusions of reality! I can see the algorithms for mortal lifespans, kingdom collapses, and weather patterns!"
"Keep the Arbiter’s Cypher broadcasting, Elara," he ordered smoothly. "We are a parasite. If we flare our corruptive mana too quickly, the host’s immune system will sense the rot and burn us out."
"Cypher is locked and looping, my Demigod!" she promised, her fingers dancing across the corrupted terminal. "To the central star, we still register as High Arbiter Cassius, requesting a temporary docking sequence at Sector 404—The Ancillary Archives."
The Void-Cruiser slowly drifted toward a massive, isolated silver platform on the outer rim of the Dyson Sphere. It was a secondary loading dock, far away from the blinding blue star at the center of the dimension where the highest-ranking Seraphs resided.
With a soft, localized hum of displaced space, the ship touched down.
[System Notification: Docking successful. Ambient Truth-Wards bypassed.]
[Warning: You are now inside the Archive of Fate. Stealth protocols advised.]
"Seraphina," he commanded, standing up from his throne. "The Brutes stay on the ship. They are too conceptually heavy; ten thousand Abyssal constructs disembarking at once will instantly shatter our disguise."
She pouted, the catastrophic black fire along the edge of her greatsword fizzling slightly. "I am to be denied my slaughter, Sovereign?"
"I said the Brutes stay," he smirked, a deeply predatory expression curling his lips. "I did not say you had to stay. But we are not here to loudly break things. We are here to perform a localized, surgical extraction."
Seraphina’s smile returned, lethal and absolute. "Understood, Master. I will whisper when I snap their necks."
Kaelen, Seraphina, and Elara descended to the cargo hold and approached the heavy Void-Steel boarding ramp.
"Elara," he said, his voice dropping to a heavy, resonant purr. "When the doors open, there will be a greeting party. Cassius was a High Arbiter; they would not let him dock without a formal reception. You have three seconds to isolate their localized telepathic tethers before they realize I am not an angel."
"I will build a conceptual soundproof box around them, Master!" Elara giggled, pulling two hyper-condensed void-diamond grounding rods from her soot-stained apron.
He nodded. He raised his hand, and the boarding ramp hissed open.
The pristine, sterile white light of the Archive flooded into the dark, rusted belly of the ship. Standing on the silver platform were three Seraphs of Logic. Like the one Kaelen had killed in the Abyssal Court, they were humanoid constructs of floating, interlocking silver polygons.
"Greetings, High Arbiter Cassius," the lead Seraph projected telepathically, its faceless crystal visor glowing. "Your localized arrival was unscheduled. We have calculated a 99.8% probability that you require access to the—"
The Seraph stopped.
Its shifting geometry violently stuttered as it processed the visual data. The entity standing on the ramp was not a twelve-foot-tall angel of golden light. It was a Demigod of absolute, suffocating darkness, flanked by a corrupted Demigoddess and a manic, soot-stained alchemist.
"Anomaly detected," the Seraph broadcasted, its blue light instantly flashing to a violent, aggressive red. "Threat Level: Omeg—"
"Alchemical Override: Ward of Silence!" Elara shrieked.
The Forge-Master moved faster than the localized physics engine could calculate. She didn’t attack the Seraphs; she violently slammed her void-diamond rods directly into the silver floor of the platform. A dome of radioactive violet static aggressively erupted outward, perfectly encasing the platform, the ship, and the three Seraphs.
The red distress signal violently bounced off the inside of the dome, completely trapped.
"Their leylines are isolated!" Elara cheered. "They can’t scream!"
He didn’t hesitate. He vanished, his God-Eater physiology effortlessly bypassing the sterile air, reappearing directly in the center of the three Seraphs.
The constructs attempted to cast Axiom Override: Kinetic Nullification, raising their geometric hands to freeze his movement. But Kaelen was already inside their guard. He forcefully flared his Level 105 Primordial Sovereign core, flooding the localized space with a singularity of absolute paradox.
The Seraphs’ mathematical magic violently fizzled, unable to compute the bottomless hunger of the Abyss.
Seraphina blurred past Kaelen. She didn’t swing her massive greatsword—that would cause too much structural damage. Instead, she reached out with her heavy, dragon-glass gauntlets and violently grabbed the head of the Seraph on the left, effortlessly crushing its crystalline visor into sparkling dust.
He handled the other two. He drove his elbow directly into the chest cavity of the rightmost Seraph, his void mana aggressively eating through its non-Euclidean armor, collapsing its core in a single, brutal strike.
With his other hand, he grabbed the lead Seraph by its floating silver throat.
"You rely too much on your logic," he whispered, staring into the flickering, frantic red light of the construct’s visor.
He didn’t just kill it. He forcefully injected his God-Eater authority directly into its crystalline core, systematically devouring its localized memories before crushing it into scrap metal.
[Hostile Entities Eliminated: Seraph of Logic (Level 115) x3.]
[Stealth Maintained. Zero network bleed detected.]
The platform fell silent, save for the soft hum of Elara’s violet alchemical dome.
"Flawless execution, Seraphina," he praised smoothly, dropping the shattered remnants of the Seraph to the floor.
He looked at Elara, who was already plunging her bare hands into the severed, glowing blue logic cores of the dead angels, her eyes completely whited out as she absorbed their access keys.
"What did we just steal, Elara?" he asked.
Elara gasped, her lips pulling back into a wide, manic grin. "Oh, Master... Cassius was right. They lock everything behind heavy conceptual wards. But these three were Wardens of the Ancillary Archives. I just absorbed the localized map of this entire outer sector!"
"Find me a target," he commanded, crossing his arms over his chest. "We are not here to steal standard history books. We are here to find the things the Goddess doesn’t want the rest of the Pantheon to know."
Elara’s fingers rapidly sorted through the floating holographic files projecting from the dead cores.
"Filtering by maximum restriction... bypassing standard law drafts... ignoring mortal prophecies..." she muttered rapidly. Suddenly, she stopped. Her emerald eyes widened in absolute shock.
"Master," she whispered, the manic energy leaving her voice, replaced by a deep, reverent awe. "There is a sub-dimension physically hidden beneath this sector. It is completely disconnected from the primary logic star. The seal isn’t mathematical; it’s conceptual. It is called the Vault of the First Sin."
Kaelen’s dark, predatory smirk returned, carrying the weight of a collapsing star.
"The First Sin," he echoed, the multi-tonal resonance of his voice actively vibrating the silver floorboards. "If the Goddess of perfect order has a localized vault for her greatest mistake, then that is exactly where we begin."
He turned toward the massive, glowing doors leading deeper into the Archives.
"Mask our signatures, Elara. Keep the dome moving with us," the Emperor commanded, stepping off the platform and into the pristine halls of heaven’s library. "We are going to read the Goddess’s diary."
