Chapter 77: Calculus of Ruin
The skies above the Abyssal Court were a permanent, suffocating twilight of radioactive violet smog.
But as Kaelen watched from the ruined apex of the Zenith Spire, the heavy clouds were effortlessly, silently parted. There was no booming thunder. There were no golden trumpets declaring the wrath of heaven. There was only a terrifying, absolute silence as the fabric of the dimension was mathematically neatly divided.
Descending from the gray static of the Celestial Fold was a vessel that actively defied the traditional aesthetic of the Goddess.
It was not a chariot of fire or a fortress of woven light. It was a massive, shifting monolith of hyper-dimensional crystal. Its geometry was entirely non-Euclidean, constantly folding in on itself like a tesseract of polished silver and cold blue light. As it hovered above the gentrified ruins of the Judiciary, it completely ignored the roaring chaos of Seraphina’s gladiator pits below.
"Fascinating," he rumbled, leaning forward on his petrified throne.
"Master!" Elara shrieked, practically vibrating out of her soot-stained boots. The Entropic Matrix dropped her alchemical beakers, her churning emerald eyes locking onto the descending monolith with unadulterated, manic obsession. "Look at the mana efficiency! There is zero ambient bleed! The vessel isn’t flying through space; it is actively recalculating the coordinates of reality around it so that it simply exists closer to us!"
Ariel’s expression, however, was deadly serious. The Abyssal Valkyrie stepped in front of him, her six shadow-wings flaring defensively.
"They are the Second Choir, Sovereign," Ariel warned, her corrupted blue eyes narrowing. "The Seraphs of Logic. They do not enforce the law; they write the code that makes the law possible. They are the true administrators of the Archive of Fate in the Sphere of Knowledge."
"A librarian?" Seraphina scoffed, marching up the obsidian steps from the courtyard, her greatsword dripping with fresh golden blood from the pits. "Let me shatter it, Emperor. I will show them the logic of a severed neck."
"Hold, Vanguard," he commanded smoothly, standing up. The suffocating gravity of his Level 105 core actively pushed against the chilling, sterile aura radiating from the crystal ship. "Let us see how heaven handles a variable it cannot calculate."
The crystalline monolith stopped descending, hovering exactly one hundred feet above the center of the Abyssal Court.
From its base, a perfect, cylindrical beam of cold, white data shot downward, striking the obsidian courtyard. When the light faded, a figure stood amidst the dark alchemical forges.
It wasn’t an angel. It was a humanoid construct of floating, interlocking silver polygons and glowing blue rings. It had no face, only a smooth, reflective visor of polished crystal. It carried no sword, no spear, and no gavel. It simply hovered an inch above the ground, its body constantly shifting and reassembling like a solved puzzle box.
[Hostile Entity Detected: Archivist Prime Xylok.]
[Class: Seraph of Logic (Level 118).]
[Warning: Target possesses the ’Domain of Absolute Axiom’.]
"Threat analysis," Xylok spoke. Its voice was not a sound, but a direct, telepathic injection of raw data into the minds of everyone present. It was flat, monotone, and entirely devoid of emotion. "Conceptual bedrock of Sector 4 altered by 99.8%. Foundational laws corrupted. High Arbiter Cassius: status unknown. Probability of localized dimensional collapse: Absolute."
The construct slowly turned its faceless visor toward the Zenith Spire, locking directly onto Kaelen.
"Anomaly identified. Origin unknown. Threat Level: Omega."
Down in the courtyard, a squad of heavily armored Void-iron Brutes immediately charged the interloper, raising their corrosive trench-maces to crush the silver construct.
"Do not engage!" Ariel yelled.
It was too late.
Xylok did not move. It did not cast a spell. The Seraph simply raised a single, floating geometric hand and snapped its silver fingers.
"Axiom Override: Kinetic Nullification."
The charging Brutes violently froze. They didn’t hit a wall. They didn’t get paralyzed by magic. Their kinetic energy was simply mathematically deleted from reality. They hung frozen in the air mid-stride, entirely suspended.
"They are experiencing a localized pause in time, Master," Elara gasped, her eyes darting across floating holographic equations. "The Seraph didn’t attack them; it just rewrote the localized physics engine to make their movement equal to zero!"
Xylok lowered its hand. "Organic corruption detected in lower tiers. Initiating complete quarantine and format of the Sphere of Judgment."
From the Seraph’s floating body, millions of razor-thin blue gridlines violently erupted outward, rapidly expanding across the courtyard. Wherever the blue wireframe touched the corrupted obsidian, the dark stone instantly reverted to pristine white marble. The radioactive violet smog was mathematically filtered, turning back into pure, ambient light.
It was not fighting Kaelen; it was aggressively fixing the dimension.
"It’s overwriting my forges!" Elara panicked, drawing a heavy alchemical blaster from her hip. "Master, if that grid touches the primary leyline, it will lock the entire network in a stasis loop!"
He didn’t look worried. His dark, deeply predatory smile only widened.
He vanished.
The sheer physical speed of his God-Eater physiology effortlessly bypassed the expanding blue grid. He reappeared directly in front of the floating silver construct, standing casually on the white marble it had just purified.
Xylok’s interlocking polygons violently whirred. "Anomaly proximity alert. Adjusting spatial parameters to—"
Kaelen didn’t let it finish the calculation.
He reached out and grabbed the floating silver geometry of the Seraph’s neck. The physical contact was supposed to be impossible—Xylok existed slightly out of phase with standard matter. But Kaelen’s Imperial Suppression forcefully anchored the construct to the physical plane.
"Axiom Override: Conceptual Erasure," Xylok projected, panic finally bleeding into the cold data-stream as blinding blue light erupted from its core directly into Kaelen’s arm.
"You rely too heavily on math, Archivist," he whispered, his pitch-black eyes swallowing the blue light. "Math requires rules. Math requires order."
He flared his Level 105 core to its absolute maximum.
He didn’t just suppress the magic; he introduced a localized singularity of pure, unfiltered paradox. The God-Eater authority aggressively flooded into the Seraph’s geometric body. It was an infinite, bottomless hunger—a concept that fundamentally broke the laws of conservation of mass and energy.
Xylok’s polygons began to violently violently violently violently stutter.
"Error," the Seraph projected, the telepathic voice glitching heavily. "Data loop infinite. Mass cannot equal... hunger cannot exceed zero... Error. Error."
The expanding blue grid across the courtyard violently shattered like cheap glass, dissolving into harmless gray static. The obsidian violently reclaimed the marble.
"You cannot calculate the Abyss," Kaelen rumbled, tightening his grip. The hyper-dense void mana actively began to crush the invincible silver polygons, bending the non-Euclidean geometry until it shrieked. "Because the Abyss is the absence of everything you know."
Kaelen violently slammed the Level 118 Seraph directly into the ground.
The sheer kinetic impact actively cratered the purified marble. The interlocking polygons of Xylok’s body violently decoupled, scattering across the dark stone. The glowing blue rings flickered and died.
[Hostile Entity Defeated: Archivist Prime Xylok (Level 118).]
[System Notification: ’Crystalline Logic Core’ acquired.]
Above them, the massive crystalline monolith violently shuddered. Without its pilot, the non-Euclidean ship began to rapidly destabilize, its engines whining as it prepared to forcefully jump back into the Fold.
"Elara!" he barked, keeping his boot firmly planted on the twitching remains of the Seraph.
"I’m already on it, my Demigod!" Elara shrieked in absolute delight.
The Forge-Master had already set up a localized alchemical tether. A massive harpoon of hyper-condensed void-diamond shot from the Zenith Spire, violently piercing the hull of the fleeing monolith. The black chains pulled taut, forcefully anchoring the cosmic vessel to the Abyssal Court.
"We are keeping the ship, Emperor," Seraphina smirked, walking up beside Kaelen and resting her greatsword on her shoulder.
"Of course we are," he smiled coldly, picking up the glowing, blue Crystalline Logic Core from the shattered remains of the Seraph.
He tossed the core to Elara, who caught it like a priceless gem, her emerald eyes reflecting the shifting data.
"Reverse-engineer their navigation charts, Forge-Master," Kaelen commanded, looking up at the struggling, bleeding crystal ship anchored in his sky. "They thought they were sending a rescue team. Instead, they just gave us the exact coordinates to their front door."
