Rejected By Her Family, Claimed By The Masked CEO

Chapter 83: Rosa

A bright smile slowly appeared on Abigail’s face as she watched the children’s car come to life before her eyes. The robotic arms carefully fixed the remaining parts while the engineers checked the system one after another.

Seeing something she had imagined for years slowly becoming reality made her happier than she expected.

Her eyes unconsciously landed on the design of the car and she smiled softly.

She didn’t know whether Henry remembered the story behind it or simply pretended not to know.

After all, this children’s car was inspired by the bigger version of the car he had carried her on during their first kiss.

Thinking about that day immediately made her face become hot.

She could still remember how nervous she was at that time.

Fortunately, she had changed the front design completely and added several childish features suitable for children. Otherwise, she would have died from embarrassment if anyone found out where her inspiration came from.

Miranda immediately noticed her blushing face and narrowed her eyes suspiciously. "What are you thinking about?" she asked with a smile.

"Uhmm...ahhh...not...nothing!"

Miranda silently decided not to believe her.

Not far away, an elegant laugh suddenly interrupted their conversation. "Ahh! You really haven’t changed at all Henry..."

Everyone subconsciously turned toward the speaker.

The elegant woman suddenly said as she walked toward Henry with a smile on her face. She looked around at the children’s car before shaking her head helplessly.

"I’ve been wondering what was so special about NIK Company that made you agree to cooperate with them." She smiled faintly before continuing, "Turns out you wanted to launch your first children’s smart car using their ideas. Not bad."

Although she was smiling, everyone could hear the hidden meaning behind her words.

She had indirectly implied that NIK Company wasn’t worthy enough for HMD Technology.

The atmosphere immediately became awkward. The employees from NIK Company frowned upon hearing her words.

Miranda was annoyed immediately. Who was this woman looking down on?

Abigail slowly raised one of her brows before smiling sweetly. "Well, I should thank you."

The woman blinked slightly.

"Actually, I was wondering why a beautiful lady like you came all the way here today." Abigail smiled brightly before continuing, "Turns out you came here to praise our company’s ideas. Don’t worry, we appreciate your recognition very much."

The employees from NIK Company immediately lowered their heads to hide their smiles.

Miranda almost burst into laughter. Wasn’t she indirectly saying the woman came all the way here just to compliment them?

Before the woman could reply, Abigail continued innocently. "After all, it’s difficult for ordinary companies to receive compliments from someone so elegant."

Several people immediately coughed awkwardly while hiding their laughter.

Miranda secretly gave Abigail a thumbs up.

Beautiful!

The woman’s smile froze slightly before she finally looked at Abigail "And you are?"

"Abigail." She smiled proudly before continuing, "The owner of NIK Company."

Miranda immediately held Abigail’s shoulders proudly. "Our CEO built this company with her own hands. It isn’t family inheritance or something that was handed over to her."

The woman’s expression immediately became uglier.

She had originally thought Abigail was simply someone working under NIK Company.

Who would have thought she was actually the owner?

She forced a smile onto her face before speaking again. "Oh? Then Miss Abigail must be very lucky."

Abigail smiled innocently. "Thank you."

"No, I mean..." Rosa smiled faintly. "Someone with no powerful family background managing to cooperate with HMD Technology is indeed very lucky."

Miranda rolled her eyes immediately. Could this woman stop talking properly for once?

Abigail simply laughed softly before moving closer to her. "Actually, I agree with you."

Rosa smiled proudly.

"Luck is indeed very important." Abigail nodded seriously. "For example, I was lucky enough to establish my company successfully at my age."

"..."

"I was lucky enough to have people acknowledge my ideas...and now, I’m lucky enough to cooperate with HMD Technology."

She smiled brightly before continuing. "So you’re absolutely right. Some people are lucky enough to achieve their dreams while others are only lucky enough to talk about other people’s achievements."

Silence immediately filled the room. Several people immediately lowered their heads and laughed secretly.

Miranda almost applauded her performance. That was too cruel!

Rosa’s expression immediately darkened.

Wasn’t Abigail indirectly saying she could only talk while others were busy achieving things?

Before she could speak again, Abigail proudly raised her chin.

"Oh! I almost forgot." She smiled apologetically. "This company isn’t even five years old yet. So I guess we’re luckier than I thought."

This time, even her own employees couldn’t stop themselves from laughing softly.

Rosa clenched her fists angrily. She had never met someone this arrogant before!

Just as Abigail was about to continue proudly showing off her achievements, she unconsciously raised her eyes and met Henry’s gaze.

He was quietly looking at her without saying anything.

Her beautiful smile immediately disappeared. The arrogance on her face disappeared instantly. Her face became slightly red before she awkwardly looked elsewhere.

Miranda silently looked at Abigail before looking at Henry again. She sighed helplessly.

How amazing! All that confidence was immediately destroyed by a single glance from Henry.

Could she become any more obvious?

Abigail immediately felt like hiding behind Miranda. She suddenly felt embarrassed for some reason.

Henry simply looked away calmly as if nothing had happened.

Miranda shook her head helplessly.

It was amazing how her powerful aura disappeared immediately whenever Henry looked at her.

Rosa immediately noticed the interaction between them and smiled knowingly.

So that was the case. She had seen women like Abigail countless times before.

Showing off her abilities before Henry wasn’t something new.

She was obviously trying to get his attention. Unfortunately, she knew Henry’s preferences very well. "You like him?" Rosa suddenly asked with a smile.

" What?" Abigail immediately denied it without hesitation.

Rosa laughed softly before shrugging her shoulders.

"I’ve seen countless women like you before." She smiled proudly. "Trust me, I know Henry’s type."

Abigail rolled her eyes immediately.

Good for her.

She honestly didn’t care. At this moment, she was more embarrassed about blushing before Henry than anything else.

Without saying another word, she quietly returned to Miranda’s side.

She had decided to stay away from Henry for the rest of today. She honestly didn’t know he had such an impact on her body.

One glance from him and all her confidence disappeared immediately.

How embarrassing!

Meanwhile, Rosa’s eyes remained fixed on Abigail.

Especially after realizing she might become another obstacle when she finally decided to pursue Henry.

Abigail completely ignored both Rosa and Henry this time and focused her attention on the childish plastic designs her team was working on.

There were still many things occupying her thoughts at the moment.

Especially Madam Perry. And the biggest question of all... Who exactly was Henry Michelson?
