Chapter 81: marriage?
For some reason, Paul was even scarier after waking up. His sleepy blue eyes made him look cold and dangerous at the same time. He simply stood there quietly looking at her, waiting for her to explain herself.
"Can... can I come in?" she asked carefully as she pointed at his study room.
"No." His answer came immediately without hesitation.
Pearl’s lips twitched helplessly. Was he going to reject her so quickly?
She quickly forced a smile and waved her hands. "Wait! It’s about my plan!"
Paul frowned slightly. "What plan?"
Pearl glanced around before lowering her voice mysteriously. "The escape plan."
Paul was silent for a few seconds before raising one of his brows.
Escape?
Pearl immediately became happy seeing that he was finally interested in listening to her. "I need your cooperation!"
"No."
"..." Could he at least allow her to finish speaking?!
She took a deep breath and forced herself to smile once again.
"I haven’t explained it yet." Pearl shook her head. "Actually, I need your help to escape from this house."
She quickly continued before he chased her away again. "You know your parents have been treating me very well recently. They are always watching me everywhere I go. I can’t even breathe peacefully anymore!" she complained helplessly.
She chuckled. "They have already doubled the security around the mansion. Yesterday, I wanted to eat snacks secretly at midnight, but four bodyguards followed me to the kitchen!"
Paul glanced at her calmly. "That sounds reasonable."
Pearl almost choked.
Reasonable?! How was that reasonable?! Ignoring his words, she continued seriously, "Old Master Michelson will be holding his birthday party very soon, right?"
"So?"
Pearl smiled mysteriously. "Mr Israel is coming."
Paul narrowed his eyes slightly but didn’t interrupt her.
Seeing that he was listening quietly, Pearl quickly sat down opposite him. "My plan is very simple. If everyone thinks we’ve stopped fighting and become friends again, they won’t pay too much attention to me."
Paul looked at her expressionlessly. "And?"
"And then I can secretly leave with Israel when he returns to Paris!"
Paul was silent for a few seconds before asking calmly, "Why should I help you?"
Pearl blinked before smiling awkwardly. "Because you’re a good person?" Pearl sighed helplessly and rested her face on the table. She don’t even know what to say anymore. "Please help me just this once. I have been hiding for almost eight years already."
Paul remained silent.
Seeing that he wasn’t saying anything, Pearl quickly started explaining her perfect plan proudly.
"After the birthday party, I will quietly leave with Israel. Your parents won’t suspect anything."
She smiled happily while imagining her beautiful future. "Then, I will never come back again!"
Paul narrowed his eyes slightly.
"And..." Pearl suddenly paused before continuing softly, "Israel used to have feelings for me before I swa..."
She immediately covered her mouth with both hands in horror.
Oh no! She almost said something she shouldn’t have said. The room suddenly became strangely quiet. Pearl slowly raised her head and looked at Paul nervously. He was quietly looking at her without saying anything.
That somehow made her even more nervous.
She laughed awkwardly. "Hahaha! Forget what I said just now." she sighed. She suddenly felt like she was sitting before an interrogation officer.
Why wasn’t he saying anything?!
His silence was becoming scarier every second. Pearl coughed awkwardly before continuing.
"Anyway! Israel will definitely agree to let me follow him back to Paris. Then..." she smiled brightly, "I can marry him!"
Paul’s expression became colder immediately.
Unfortunately, Pearl was too busy explaining her wonderful future to notice.
"If marriage doesn’t work, getting pregnant isn’t a bad idea too!" she said thoughtfully while nodding to herself. "That way, even if your parents find out later, it will already be too late!"
Dead silence filled the room. Pearl blinked in confusion before slowly looking at Paul again.
Something was wrong.
Very wrong.
Why did the room suddenly become colder? "Paul?"
He slowly looked at her and sighed softly"Out."
Pearl blinked several times in confusion. "Huh?" What happened?
"Get out."
She frowned slightly. "Wait! Did I explain something wrongly?"
Paul suddenly stood up from his seat and slowly walked toward her.
Pearl immediately became nervous.
m For some reason, she suddenly remembered the terrible things people usually said about him.
The dangerous Paul Michelson. The cold-blooded businessman. The man capable of making people cry with only one sentence.
Seeing him coming closer, Pearl immediately took several steps backward.
"W-wait! Let’s talk peacefully!"
Paul stopped before her and lowered his eyes slightly. "You want to marry another mam or r get pregnant for him?"
She nodded innocently. "That’s my plan." The moment those words left her mouth, she noticed something strange.
Paul’s face became even colder.
Pearl was completely confused. Why was he suddenly angry? Shouldn’t he be happy she was leaving? Wasn’t he the one who hated her the most in this house?
"Paul?"
"Get out." This time, his voice was colder than before.
Pearl quickly waved her hands nervously. "Wait! Let me explain properly! I haven’t finished my plan yet!"
Paul took another step toward her.
Seeing that, Pearl immediately screamed inwardly.
No!
She knew that look! He was definitely angry now!
Afraid that he might grab her neck out of anger, Pearl immediately turned around and ran toward the door at lightning speed.
"I’m leaving! Please calm down first!"
BANG!
"AHHHHH!"
Unfortunately, in her hurry to escape, her knee violently hit the edge of the door.
Tears immediately filled her eyes. "My knee!"She held her knee painfully while jumping twice before quickly remembering the dangerous man behind her.
Without daring to look back, Pearl immediately limped away at her fastest speed. "I’m sorry! Let’s talk another day!"
Paul silently watched her disappear from his sight before lowering his eyes slightly.
The room suddenly became deathly silent once again.
After a long while, he slowly sat back down before looking at the untouched cup of coffee before him.
"Marriage?" he muttered coldly.
For some reason, hearing her happily talk about marrying another man was more annoying than he had expected.
