Rejected By Her Family, Claimed By The Masked CEO

Chapter 72: Welcome back!!

Anna sighed as she checked the price tag on her favorite dress. "Why is Lady Madeline’s dress so expensive?" she muttered to herself.

In that moment, a hand suddenly grabbed the dress from the rack. "Put it in the cart," the woman said in a firm voice.

Anna felt stunned. She was about to curse at the person, but she swallowed her words the moment she saw who it was. It was Mrs. Jones, the famous wife of the ex-governor.

Her cold expression could silence an entire room. During her daughter Susan’s big scandal, Mrs. Jones had come out confidently and scolded her own daughter in public. She said she would not allow the video to spread, but she would not stop people from blaming Susan either.

What shocked the world most was the fact that Susan had been adopted by the Jones family since childhood. That happened right when Mr. Jones was campaigning for office.

Their real daughter Delia was studying abroad at the time, and so was her elder brother. People had always thought there were three children in the family, but they never knew Susan was adopted. That scandal actually gave the Jones family more praise in the end.

"Ahhh..." Anna scratched her head and sighed. "Ma’am, that is the dress I wanted..."

Mrs. Jones lifted her chin and looked at Anna. "Your parents did not teach you how to greet older strangers?"

Anna rolled her eyes. If it were not for the good image she tried to keep and the fact that this woman was very powerful, she knew exactly what she would say.

At that moment, her eyes met Rachel’s across the store, and Anna quickly forced a smile. "Ahh... I’m sorry... Good..." But Mrs Jones had already walked away. Anna swore she had never felt real fear like that until their eyes met.

...

Madam Perry’s eyes flew open suddenly. She almost had a heart attack when she realized she was lying in the familiar room she had forbidden herself from entering again.

She quickly jumped away from the large bed with its sharp, familiar scent. "Damn!" she groaned and slapped her forehead. She was about to run out when she froze in front of the mirror. "What?" she screamed in horror.

She was wearing a sexy red short net nightwear that showed way too much, including her nipples. The funniest part was that red was Paul’s favorite color, especially this exact style. She had intentionally burned one like it years ago. Her bare white skin mixed with the red net and her pointed breasts made her look like something from a dream she did not want. "Not again!" she cried.

She rushed to the wardrobe, grabbed one of his long shirts that reached her knees, and quickly put it on. Her face turned red as she left the room. She ran to her old room, sighed in relief when she got there, and changed into a simple dress.

She sat down angrily on the bed and looked around. This her room was still rated as the most expensive and beautiful among all the elite wives.

Not long after, a maid knocked and came in, bowing politely. "Old Master asked me to fetch you for lunch. Your friends are also here."

"Alright... go," Madam Perry said lazily and waved her hand.

The maid frowned, then looked up. Her face lit up with a big smile. "You are back!" She quickly moved forward, knelt down, and held Madam Perry’s leg.

"Hey! Hey! Let me go! You are annoying!" Madam Perry said, trying to pull away.

The maid grinned happily. "So the rumor in the house is right. Please don’t leave us again! We all miss you so much." She sat on the bed beside her. "Look, Thelma and I have a lot of stories to tell."

This caught Madam Perry’s attention. She smiled and looked at the maid with interest. "Really?"

Benny nodded excitedly.

Madam Perry placed a hand on her shoulder and sighed. "I am glad you are still alive after helping me escape the other time."

Benny smiled and bowed her head. "I am surprised too." Then she giggled and looked at the door before spreading her arms. "Can I?"

Madam Perry rolled her eyes and stood up. "Just go! You smell like a newly made pizza! I have stopped eating pizza!" she groaned.

Benny burst into loud laughter. "Old Master asked us to prepare all your favorite foods. That’s when I started to think something fishy is going on!" She stood up happily. "I will tell Thelma and the rest." Then she ran out of the room with a big smile.

Madam Perry chuckled softly. Smelling pizza again brought back so many memories, and it added to her headache. It was not just pizza. It meant a lot from her past. She felt glad the maids were doing well. It had been seven or eight years since she left this household to forget everything. She would not lie — she had enjoyed staying at the orphanage, especially working with a male friend to raise the children there. She saw them as being in the same difficult situation as her.

She sighed and stepped out of her room. She noticed the smiles on the faces of the maids who passed by when they saw her. She rolled her eyes. If everyone was happy to see her, that scary man would not be. One look from him felt like pressure from a thousand people.

"Ahhh! Finally! She comes out," someone said.

Madam Perry sighed again the moment she saw Kim So-hee in her beautiful expensive gown and Caroline, who smiled and waved at her. Her brow furrowed when she noticed Rachel sitting there too.

"What are you doing here?" Madam Perry asked.

Rachel smiled faintly and stood up. She held out an LM package bag. "Look, I brought you dresses"

Madam Perry recognized the signature from Madeline’s shop. She had plenty of those already. "I do not need it..."

"I knew you are angry that I told them you came to my party..."

"You shouldn’t!" Madam Perry yelled. Tears filled her eyes. "I warned you about it, didn’t I? If I was happy, do you think I would have run away?" She sat down on the couch heavily.

Kim So-hee and Caroline quickly moved to her side and patted her back. "I would do the same if I were her!" Caroline said. "We all love and miss you, Pearl. Who knows, that is why Mr. Paul is becoming more dangerous and scaring our husbands."

Caroline sighed and looked at Rachel, who smiled bitterly and sat farther away from them. "Pearl..." she said softly to the crying woman. She understood how much fear Pearl had for Paul. "Because of you, Rachel reminded everyone that Susan was adopted..."

Pearl raised her teary eyes. "How does that connect to me?"

Kim So-hee sighed. "Because the person that caused the problem is Abigail.
