Chapter 47: Archie...
Miranda left the company angrily. She walked fast down the street with her head full of heavy thoughts. She headed to a small coffee shop nearby because she needed something to calm her down. When she reached the door, she looked at the prices written on the glass. She sighed deeply and checked her purse.
There was only one coin inside. Nothing else. Tears filled her eyes quickly. She felt so frustrated with her life. In anger, she threw her purse away and started cursing everything under her breath.
Just then, she saw a man snatch a bag from a pregnant woman a few meters away. The woman screamed for help. Miranda did not think twice. "Hey!!!" she yelled loudly and quickly ran after the thief. She chased him down the street, breathing hard.
After running for a while, she caught up, kicked him from behind, and collected the bag. The man pulled out a gun and pointed it at her. Miranda tried to grab the gun from him. They struggled hard, pulling it back and forth. Suddenly, the gun went off with a loud sound.
Both of them looked at each other in shock. Blood started dripping down. Miranda quickly dropped the gun in panic. Her hands were covered in blood. The man fell to the ground, holding his stomach which was bleeding badly.
Miranda’s body started shaking. Not long after, the pregnant woman arrived with the police. "I saw the man, thank God for this woman..." the pregnant lady started saying. But when she saw the bloody scene, she screamed.
The police were stunned. They quickly pulled out their guns and pointed them at Miranda. "Hands up! Now!" one of them shouted.
Miranda burst into tears. "Please, it was not me," she tried to explain. "He had the gun. We were fighting for it. Please don’t do this." She begged them again and again, but the police would not listen. They looked ready to arrest her.
Suddenly, a strong hand was placed on her shoulder. "Ahhh... Did you manage to take the thief down?" a deep voice asked calmly.
Miranda frowned and looked up. She was stunned by the man in front of her. He was very handsome with tattoos covering parts of his body like sharp thorns.
The police lowered their guns immediately. The head police officer looked at the man carefully as he stepped forward. "What are you up to this time, Mr. Min Ho?" he asked.
Min Ho rolled his eyes and glanced at Miranda, who was still shaking. "She did not commit any crime. Why are you arresting her without even investigating properly?" he said in a bored tone. He yawned and looked at his own men who had stepped out of his sports car.
They looked worried about him getting involved to save what they called a "Bunny"
Min Ho made it very clear to the police. "This was self-defense," he explained. "If Miranda had not stopped the man, she would probably be dead right now. And if she had not helped the pregnant woman, she would not have gotten into this trouble at all."
The head police gave him a deep look and left, two men waited behind for the ambulance to come.
The pregnant woman nodded in guilt. "Yes, she saved me and my bag. I am so sorry for calling the police so fast. I thought I was helping."
Miranda thanked Min Ho with all her heart. "Thank you so much," she said, her voice still shaky. "If not for you, I would have been in big trouble."
Min Ho sighed. "Oliver’s women really have different characters. I guess you are the bunny among them," he said with a small smirk.
Miranda’s smile faded immediately. "Oliver?" she asked, surprised. "You know Oliver? And you know me too?" She looked at him carefully. "Did you save me because I am related to Oliver?"
"I am not the type who meddles in someone’s business," Min Ho replied. "But I could not ignore you because you looked familiar..." He did not finish his sentence.
"Forget it!" Miranda said angrily. She started walking away, muttering to herself and crying quietly. So what if she was not related to Oliver at all?
On her way, she sent Abigail a sarcastic voice note. "I won’t be coming to the company again," she said in the message. "I need to do something important. I want to start my own life too."

Abigail only glanced at Archie for a second before she frowned and looked back at her phone. She just listened to the voice note...
She kept thinking about what was happening with Miranda. Why did her friend sound so upset in that voice note? She wondered if she had said something wrong earlier.
Archie cut a piece of his dessert and ate it slowly. "I’ve told you before, she is so secretive," he said. "Miranda will open up to you whenever she feels like it. Don’t worry too much right now."
"She is a good person," Abigail defended quickly. Archie had never really liked Miranda from the first day they met because of how closed off she could be.
But Abigail did not think much about it. She was not in any danger anyway. She would deal with that later. She put her phone aside and looked at Archie with real interest. "Why did you suddenly come back earlier than we expected?" she asked.
Archie drank some water and sighed. "Because I missed you," he answered simply.
Abigail clenched her toes under the table. If not because of her plan, she would not even have agreed to meet him.
She had been avoiding him for a while. Archie’s bluntness could make her lose her mind sometimes.
She nodded slowly. "It seems you don’t want to talk about the real reason... but I... I have been wanting to tell you not to..."
"Don’t even go there. I don’t like her," Archie said, cutting her off.
Abigail frowned. "But everyone knows she has been obsessed with you. She is making things difficult for me in the business world."
Archie sighed and looked straight at her. "I will talk to her," he promised.
"Even if you just want to manage the situation, she is pretty, rich, and her family matches yours. They even know each other. She is very perfect for you...."
"Stop," Archie said coldly.
Abigail quickly shut her mouth.
"Stop introducing another woman to me. I know what I want."
