"You don’t mean that," Kosta said in an attempt to make things make sense, but Tamiko was already beyond that. He had long made his choice, and he wasn’t going to go back, not even for the Erasthai who broke his heart the most.
"Well, I do. I have nothing left to see. Besides, you wanted space. Why are you here hounding me? I gave you your space, and now that I need my freedom, you seem so pressed about it.
"Is that why you came back?" Tamiko asked emotionlessly like Kosta was a stranger to him. Love had broken him, and he wanted to take a break, but it was ruining him, too, in the process.
Shit was not supposed to be this hard, but what else was Tamiko supposed to do when his Erasthai had shown him more than once that there were just a lot of things that they wouldn’t be able to do anymore?
They had hopes and dreams together, and it had all faded because of one evening. And now, six days later, shit was unreal. It was like the world had chosen to fuck them over more than once, which was not even cool.
"Krushka..." Kosta called out desperately. He could see the emptiness in Tamiko’s eyes, but he refused to let Tamiko stay an emotionless creature. That wasn’t what they had worked this hard for.
They had strived to be the best of the best, and yet it had all brought them back to the one point that Kosta wasn’t sure they would ever be able to get out of. Maybe he was being pessimistic, but it wasn’t like Tamiko was giving him the best of signs right now.
His life had changed for the worse in just a few days, and it was something that they could have changed. But was it ever going to be better., or was Tamiko bound to be this empty shell that the realm didn’t even understand?
