I Became a Demon Sword and Traveled the Anime Worlds

Chapter 177: Ninja Village Arc

However, no one present paid any attention to Fubuki's shock.

Sonic slowly drew the sword at his waist.

With a thought, part of the sword shattered as he swung it forward.

The broken fragments scattered in an instant, flying toward every corner of the ruined street.

"Oh?"

Saitama looked at the incoming fragments with mild curiosity, but still did not take them seriously.

In the next moment, one of the fragments near him changed.

Sonic's figure appeared from it.

A full power slash followed immediately.

The edge went straight for Saitama's throat.

Even Genos failed to notice that strike.

Saitama, however, only looked slightly surprised. He raised his hand and caught the sword again, then tightened his grip, intending to crush it completely.

But the sword had already shattered on its own.

Sonic's figure reappeared behind him, emerging from another fragment. At the same time, the shattered pieces reassembled into a complete sword once more.

He slashed toward that shiny bald head.

"Saitama, this is Flying Thunder God Stage Two!"

Even then, Saitama's expression barely changed.

He turned his head in an instant and calmly caught the incoming sword with his hand again.

"Flying Thunder God Stage Two?"

This time, Saitama looked genuinely interested.

"Is it teleportation?"

His figure blurred.

He moved to attack.

But Sonic could not help remembering the pain Saitama had caused him that day.

His expression turned cold.

The next instant, he activated Flying Thunder God again.

His figure flickered like a streak of pitch black light, constantly shifting between the fragments as he clashed with Saitama across the Ghost Town.

"So fast..."

Fubuki's eyes widened.

"I can't see them at all."

This time, she was truly shocked.

Not just her. Even Genos felt pressure he had not felt in a long while.

Not only Sensei.

Even that stalker is this strong?

He did not use his full strength when he fought me earlier.

The battle continued.

As the exchanges grew more intense, Sonic gradually adapted to the rhythm.

His movements became smoother and sharper.

He was like a black flash weaving through space, controlling the sword fragments with his mind and switching positions again and again.

Even if Saitama's raw speed was faster, trying to defeat Sonic under these conditions was no easy matter.

There was only one problem.

His sword could not break through Saitama's defense.

Watching Sonic constantly flash in and out of sight, Saitama's expression gradually shifted from interest to boredom.

"You're really annoying."

He spoke plainly.

"I'll get a little serious, then."

As he said this, his expression grew serious.

"Serious Run."

Saitama's feet pressed against the ground.

His speed reached its peak in an instant.

A fist came straight toward Sonic's face.

This time, Sonic felt as if he had seen death.

It was too fast.

So fast he could not move.

At that critical moment, he shouted in his heart.

"Asuramaru!"

Inside the sword, Asuramaru's mouth twitched slightly.

Even so, he still released Demon Power.

A mass of pitch black mist condensed in front of Sonic.

It blocked Saitama for less than an instant.

But that instant was enough.

Sonic activated Flying Thunder God, and his figure vanished from the spot.

He reappeared atop a streetlamp.

Fear still lingered in his chest.

For a moment, he truly felt that he had almost died under that punch.

Asuramaru's annoyed voice rang in his mind.

"I told you before that you couldn't win yet. The gap between you two isn't just a little."

Under normal circumstances, Sonic would have talked back.

This time, however, he gave a rare reply in his heart.

"Thank you for just now, Asuramaru."

Facing that thanks, Asuramaru answered irritably, "Cut the crap. I won't help you next time."

Returning to reality, Sonic looked down at Saitama.

His heart still could not fully calm down.

Even so, he refused to acknowledge defeat.

"Saitama!"

His voice rang across the ruined street.

"The next time we meet, I'll be even stronger."

His eyes burned with unwillingness.

"Next time, I will definitely surpass you!"

After saying that, under everyone's gaze, Sonic raised Asuramaru.

The fragments scattered throughout the area all returned to the sword.

Only one tiny, nearly undetectable fragment remained elsewhere.

Then Sonic vanished from where he stood.

Saitama watched him disappear, but did not think too deeply about it.

He simply turned around.

"Genos, do you want to go change your parts first?"

Genos looked at his missing arm with complete indifference.

"I can go after I finish the housework."

Compared to the calm master and disciple pair, Fubuki, who was still sitting on the ground, remained completely stunned.

This was too abnormal.

On the other side, Sonic reappeared at his temporary base in the Ghost Town of City Z.

The moment he landed, he could not stop himself from panting heavily.

The sword fragment he had left here returned to the sword, and Sonic sheathed it at his waist.

"That was close."

Before he could do anything else, Asuramaru sensed something from within the sword.

He immediately warned, "Sonic, be careful. There are two people nearby with ill intent."

The moment the warning reached him, Sonic reacted.

His gaze swept across the surroundings from the corner of his eye.

Then he spoke coldly.

"Get the hell out here."

"You noticed us?"

An affected voice suddenly came from behind him.

Sonic turned his head.

Two figures in ninja attire stood there, looking at him with hungry interest.

One of them was a young man with long, smooth green hair. He smiled as he looked at Sonic.

"You're Speed o' Sound Sonic, right?"

His eyes narrowed.

"And I assume you're also the Monster killer who has been making noise lately."

"I don't know who you are."

Sonic's face remained cold.

"But since you dared to provoke me, I assume you're prepared to die."

His hand was already resting on the hilt of the sword behind his back.

Amid that tense atmosphere, the long haired youth continued speaking calmly.

"Don't be so quick to attack. We only came to visit our junior."

He smiled faintly.

"Right, Speed o' Sound Sonic of the 44th Graduation Class."

"The End."

Sonic's expression changed slightly.

"You're from the Village?"

The two opposite him immediately introduced themselves.

The young man with long green hair spoke first.

"Gale Wind, from the 37th Golden Class."

The sturdy young man beside him had black hair pointing upward. His arms were crossed over his chest as he spoke.

"Same class. Hellfire Flame."

After hearing their identities, Sonic's expression grew more serious.

But he did not panic.

Now that he had Asuramaru, he was confident he could fight them.

Inside the sword, Asuramaru had some impression of these two.

He only remembered that they had joined the Monster Association, and that after becoming Monsters, their strength was roughly at low Dragon level.

They were also the type who specialized in speed.

For the current Sonic, killing both of them instantly would not be that easy.
