My Overpowered Demon System

Chapter 88: JASMINE

Azrael was sent flying with a single push.

Jasmine stared at him from where she stood, her eyes flickering with golden lightning.

Azrael landed in the desolate space of the Chaos Realm, his body sinking into the endless water beneath.

Jasmine did not linger. She lunged, appearing over the river in an instant as if the distance had never mattered.

Bubbles began to spread over the water, exploding just as fast as they formed.

Azrael burst out from the water, his body wreathed in purple lightning.

It covered him like an ethereal cloak.

He beat his two lightning wings faster as he tore towards Jasmine.

His speed did not surprise her in the slightest.

She followed his movements beat by beat.

Rolling his fist into a ball, he punched towards Jasmine’s head.

An explosion rang out as Jasmine sidestepped.

Her leg moved in tandem, smashing hard into Azrael’s exposed ribcage.

His body moved by itself, jolting backward before the kick could fully reach him.

But the kick did not stop there.

Lightning arced out from where it had been aimed, chasing Azrael like a guided missile.

Azrael could only watch as the lightning burnt through his flesh.

What followed was golden blood pouring from his nose and the charred smell of burnt flesh.

His body began to plummet as life drifted out of him.

"You could not even last one exchange," Jasmine said, watching his dropping body.

The body shook slightly. Then Azrael’s eyes opened again, full of life.

It was as though he had not just died and returned.

In a flash of golden light, Azrael burst forward again.

Jasmine felt a sudden convergence of the clouds above her.

She looked up.

Thousands of lightning spears had already formed above her, each one pulsing with power.

Swoosh.

Sharp sounds followed as the spears began tearing downward.

The wind groaned under their combined weight.

Jasmine did not move from where she was.

Lightning began to spread out from her position.

It danced through the air, releasing thick, molten heat.

The lightning spears closed in.

Then they vanished.

It was as if reality had negated their existence in that moment.

The lightning dancing around Jasmine pulsed with more power as it absorbed the energy within the spears.

"Got you," Azrael said, his body dissolving into lightning that reformed behind Jasmine.

A smile played on Jasmine’s face as she heard those words.

"Are you sure?"

Before the words could land fully, the lightning dancing around her condensed into a colossal serpent.

Azrael’s eyes went wide as the serpent crashed into him.

His body was wrecked beyond imagination.

Bones. Flesh. Every organ.

Everything was burnt to cinders.

His entire existence was erased from reality with a single attack.

"Oops," Jasmine said, staring at where Azrael had been. "I erased him by mistake."

As she spoke, she began to descend to the floor.

"I don’t think his regeneration skill would work here. I might have to bring him back myself." Her feet touched the water softly, causing only a small ripple to spread outward.

She strode towards the mansion, already preparing a skill.

Just then, she felt a presence in the sky.

A familiar one.

But she did not want to believe it.

Azrael’s fist was already above her.

She sidestepped and caught him by the hand.

Azrael could only stare wide eyed as his body was smashed into the earth.

All the air in his lungs was forced out.

Spit splattered from his mouth at the same time.

"That’s enough," Jasmine said, not even glancing back at where Azrael lay.

’How did he revive himself after being burnt to ashes?’ she wondered as she walked towards the house.

She was certain that if something like that had happened to her, there was no way she could have healed from it.

’I was planning to extract him from the situation in time. Who knew he was going to revive himself?’ she mused, still walking forward.

She turned to see Azrael following behind her.

The realm had already returned to normal, lush green plants spreading across its surface.

’He might have to leave here faster than I expected,’ she thought.

"Same routine as yesterday. Two hours practicing your techniques, two hours cultivating your core," Jasmine said without looking back.

Azrael nodded.

"Also, sleep well tonight since you will be attempting the creation of an essence sprite tomorrow," she added.

Azrael’s eyes lit up at those words.

He had been waiting for this since he first heard about sprites.

[Don’t get too excited. You have a tendency to forget people and creatures quickly,] the system said in his mind.

’Name one time I did that,’ Azrael retorted with a frown.

[When was the last time you fed Rion?]

That was all it asked.

Azrael’s face went pale as he remembered his pet.

He had indeed been negligent, even forgetting to feed the small beast.

’I will give it some cores once I reach the training ground,’ Azrael said with a sigh.

Jasmine stopped as she stepped into the building’s courtyard.

"Why can’t I hear your thoughts?" She asked with a cold tone.

Azrael blinked.

The question caught him off guard.

Why would anyone ask something like that?

After a brief moment of being stunned, he steadied himself.

"My skill prevents anyone from reading my mind," Azrael said plainly.

It was not like she was going to harm him because a skill of his had invalidated her ability to read his thoughts.

"Is that so?" Jasmine said with a smile.

She switched from the cold expression to her usual chaotic one in the next instant.

"Go to the training ground quickly so you can still catch some sleep."

She jumped into her chair and a glass of wine appeared in her hand.

’She is so addicted to wine,’ Azrael thought.

Jasmine looked towards him with a smile.

"Just say it out loud. It’s not like wine is a bad thing," she said.

Azrael stopped in his tracks, eyes moving fast within their sockets.

"Did I say that out loud?" He muttered, staring at Jasmine.

She shook her head with a smile.

"Nope."
