My Overpowered Demon System

Azrael looked at Jasmine, who sat languorously on a chair in front of the house.

The area immediately surrounding the house was unaffected by the outside world.

But Azrael was not at the house yet.

He was still crossing a desert of dry sand and scorching heat.

His throat felt like it was bleeding from the dryness.

He looked at Jasmine and the cup of wine beside her, and a glimmer of hope lit in his eyes.

He pushed forward faster.

Jasmine noticed his eyes on the wine and said nothing.

"Ah," Azrael exhaled as he finally stepped out of the desert.

He stood on the concrete of the compound just in front of her.

"How was it?" Jasmine asked, finishing the last of her wine in a single gulp.

As if all hope had been extinguished at once, Azrael slumped to the floor.

A smile played at her lips as she watched him.

Azrael pulled himself up quickly.

’Just give me a cold glass of water,’ he said to the system.

[10 SP deducted.]

A glass of chilled water appeared in his hand in the same instant.

"Always prepared, I see," Jasmine said, nodding at the glass.

"Once you are done, we continue."

"So I am going to be claiming other calamities?" Azrael asked, a strange light flickering in his eyes.

If he could claim enough of them, could he not eventually leave everything to them?

"Do not overthink it. At your current stage, two calamities is already your limit," Jasmine said flatly. "Any more and your soul will simply tear apart."

She looked at him with a smile.

"But if you ever feel like testing that, there is a tier eleven calamity called Nezha near where you fought Achilles."

Azrael blinked.

Even if she wanted to point him toward another calamity, it had to be one that could end him before he got close enough to see it.

"Do not look at me like that. That is the weakest calamity remaining in this realm after the two you already claimed," Jasmine said with a casual shrug.

"What are we doing next if not hunting calamities?" Azrael asked, rising from the floor.

The cold water and the accelerated recovery from his golden cells had already done their work.

"Have you ever heard of domains?" She asked calmly.

Azrael closed his eyes as if trying to pull something from memory.

[What are you searching for? You have never heard of it.]

The system said in his mind.

Azrael shook his head slowly.

"I wonder what exactly they are teaching you at that academy," Jasmine said with a sigh.

"Though at least you know aura."

Azrael nodded immediately.

"Good. That makes this easier."

She set the empty wine glass down beside her chair.

"I will explain the fundamentals and show you one example. Everything beyond that you discover yourself."

As she spoke, Azrael watched the essence in the surrounding air begin to converge wildly toward her.

Nothing visible changed in the air itself. But through his aura vision, he could see it clearly.

Then his gaze reached Jasmine herself.

"Hey. Hey."

The words felt distant and close at the same time, as though someone was pulling him out of deep water.

His eyes opened slowly.

Jasmine was crouched over him, hand pressing against his chest as if trying to restart something.

Above him was a brown sky.

His back was flat against the ground.

"What happened?" He asked.

A sharp headache hit him immediately, pulling a quiet groan from his lips.

Then the memory of what he had seen surfaced.

Even thinking about it made the room tilt.

He looked at Jasmine standing over him.

What his eyes showed him was the image of something vast enough to tower over the world itself.

The image of a small child was entirely gone.

"Do not use aura on me again until you are at least tier ten," Jasmine said, looking directly into his eyes with her crimson ones.

Azrael nodded slowly, the motion closer to that of a puppet than a person.

’What kind of being is she?’ He thought as he pushed himself upright.

"Since I have already demonstrated it, I will explain now," Jasmine said, returning to her chair.

"But I did not see it," Azrael tried to argue.

"I already did it. I do not care," Jasmine shrugged.

Before he could say anything else, she continued.

"A domain is simply establishing a connection between yourself and the surrounding essence."

She looked at him.

"And to form a connection with something, you must first be able to perceive it. That is why Aura Vision is necessary when creating a domain."

Her gaze moved past Azrael to the world behind him.

It had shifted again, now resembling something pulled from a science fiction world.

"Before we go further, you need to understand what a domain is actually for," she said.

Azrael listened, though part of his mind was still recovering from what he had seen when his aura touched her.

He also understood now why her essence had remained hidden even when he was actively looking with aura vision. She had been suppressing it deliberately, and the true scale of what she was suppressing was something his mind could not hold without shutting down.

"First. Within your domain, you can perceive everything inside it as though it were directly in front of your eyes. But it comes with a restriction. You cannot move while it is active."

She raised one finger.

"Second. Within a domain, your attacks will always reach their target regardless of speed or evasion."

A second finger rose.

"Third. The domain itself becomes your weapon. Within it, even a thought is enough to deliver an attack with complete precision."

She raised the third finger, then lowered all three at once.

Her gaze settled on him with a quiet smile.

"Beyond those foundations, there are things a domain can do once your power reaches a sufficient level. I will not explain those now."

She let the silence hold for a moment.

It lasted less than ten seconds before she continued.

"Now. To the creation of a domain," she said, flexing her fingers slowly.
