Chapter 78: PERFECT BEING
Azrael stared at the status screen, his eyes wide and almost bulging from their sockets.
"Are you sure this is not a glitch?" He asked the system with furrowed brows.
What he was looking at was simply too much to process.
[What do you mean glitch? Do I look like some old laptop from Earth?]
The system asked with a raised brow emoji.i
Azrael shook his head slowly and kept reading.
[Skill: Perfect Being
Passive:
Absolute Physique: Body is in a constant state of evolution, increasing all attributes with each passing moment.
Immortal Cell: So long as a single cell remains intact, the body can regenerate. Complete annihilation is required to permanently kill the user.
Golden Heart: All essence is refined and condensed into the highest quality possible.
Aura Vision: Can see essence on every layer at all times.
Mental Compartment: Can split focus into multiple things.
Auto-Pilot: Body moves by itself if you cannot respond. Even skills can be activated when it triggers. Only triggers when certain conditions are met
Rule Breaker: Once per attack, ignore one defensive law, concept, or ability. Essence cost depends on scale of the ignores effect.
Stable Mind: Your mind is covered by several layers of protection, making it hard to read.
Perfect Affinity: Possesses affinity with every element and can eventually reach complete dominion through cultivation.
Primordial Soul: Massive resistance to soul attacks and curses.
Progenitor Blood: By giving your blood to creatures, they evolve to their highest possible state but remain as your thralls.
Fast Learner: Grasp the concept behind any technique quickly.
Feedback: Constant passive gain from the achievements of all your thralls regardless of distance.
Active:
Restore: Once every twelve hours, restore the body to its peak state.
Assimilation: Merge with the environment to become fully invisible. Ends the moment you move.
Astral Body: Convert the body into pure essence that can be controlled freely.
Primordial Communion: Communicate directly with primordials.]
Azrael did not know what to say.
He had read through it roughly ten times now and it still did not feel real.
How was something allowed to exist at this level?
It was as though he had become an entirely different category of being.
The first thing that struck him was Stable Mind.
This had been his greatest fear since arriving in this world.
Everyone around him could read his thoughts. It had been a constant source of anxiety from the moment he discovered it.
That concern was gone now. Permanently.
He also could not help connecting it to earlier, when he had thought something about Jasmine in his mind and she had not reacted. He understood now why she had said nothing. The skill had already been active.
Auto-Pilot drew his attention next.
That ability had saved his life multiple times in the fight with Achilles. Without it activating on its own, he would not have survived the first exchange. It was one of the most immediately valuable passives on the entire list.
Then Aura Vision.
The same ability he had trained for across hours of exploding his own eyes, struggling to maintain it without draining his essence completely.
Now it was simply on. Always. No toggling, no cost, no limit.
He exhaled slowly at that.
"No wonder I was able to deal damage to Achilles regardless of where I hit him," Azrael said, his pupils widening as Rule Breaker’s description settled in.
Then Progenitor Blood and Feedback.
If he handled those two correctly, he could theoretically reach the top of the universe through the growth of his thralls alone, without ever needing to lift a finger himself.
He looked across the full list again.
Every single passive on it was at minimum diamond grade on its own. Several pushed into Mythic territory. And they were all bundled into one skill from a single fruit.
The only ability he had not fully wrapped his mind around was Pattern Recognition.
He could not see its use yet, but he was certain it had one he had not discovered.
"No wonder the Infernal grade is so elusive compared to everything below it," Azrael muttered. "It simply does not exist on the same level."
[Sincerely, this skill is fairly strong.]
Azrael’s brow twitched.
"Fairly strong. That is all you have to say?"
[Compared to some fruits available in the system shop, it sits in the middle tier.]
"So there are stronger skills in the shop," Azrael said slowly, eyes narrowing.
The system replied with a nod emoji.
"How much?"
[Just keep using this one. It is more than sufficient.]
"How much?"
[The cheapest option that does not even match Perfect Being costs ten billion SP. There are roughly six fruits stronger than this one, starting at around a hundred billion and climbing from there.]
Azrael stared at the screen.
The number sat in his mind without finding anywhere to attach itself.
After everything he had killed yesterday, including the two calamities, he had barely reached five hundred thousand SP total.
"I will get there eventually," he sighed, pushing himself upright.
He looked at his palm.
On command, flames ignited across it. Scorching, volatile, immediate.
They shifted to darkness in the next instant.
The darkness coiled around his hand, making it disappear to normal eyes as though light itself had agreed to stop acknowledging that space.
Then roots spread from the center of the darkness, reaching outward until they pushed through the ice covering the floor beneath him.
He did not test any further.
Three elements were demonstration enough.
"Meet me at the house," a voice rang through his mind.
He looked up.
No one was there.
"Telepathy," he murmured.
In the same breath he launched upward, his body streaking in a line of golden light before landing outside the crater’s edge.
He looked around.
The realm had already shifted into a swamp.
Manageable.
He stepped forward onto the muddy ground without sinking.
"Perfect Equilibrium really does hold up," he said quietly, remembering exactly why he had purchased that trait in the first place.
