After they finished shopping for clothes, the two once again walked on the busy street. Yelena was still a bit upset about what had happened, while Lily was trying her best to apologize.

The two kept walking towards their destination, and soon they arrived at the market square. It was pretty big, as one would expect from a city this size. Although the crowd wasn’t as bad, given that it was already later in the afternoon. Most people would be coming here in the morning.

Still, there were multiple stands scattered around the square, each selling different merchandise. Food, clothing, jewelry, even weapons. Everything could be found here. It wasn’t just the stalls. Almost every building around the square was some kind of shop or related to trading. This place will become quite important for them in the future.

As they grew stronger, they would eventually need new weapons, armor, and other equipment to complete their jobs. The most important and, of course, the most expensive were magic items.

Although in their first year, the use of such items was forbidden unless they got permission from the school. Such permission was rare and only granted in exceptional cases. This meant that at least during their first year, they didn’t have to worry about that, but later on, such items will be a crucial part of their progression.

This was already worrying Lily. Unlike Yelena or Thea, she didn’t have a wealthy family to support her and provide everything she needed. She also didn’t want to rely on the other two for handouts; the whole dress thing already weighed heavily on her mind, so she would have to work extra hard to earn that money through her jobs.

The two continued their journey; the restaurant Yelena picked out wasn’t too far from the market square. When they arrived, a nicely dressed waiter greeted them at the door and soon showed them to their table.

The place itself had a nice atmosphere. It wasn’t over the top, but still elegant. The lights were slightly dimmed, giving it a somewhat more romantic vibe. The table they were shown to was set for two people and in a place mostly out of sight.

The waiter gave them the menu and then let the two look through it and decide. They made the choice that they would forgo any alcohol. Some wine wouldn’t be bad, but they suspected the party would have more than enough, and they didn’t need any warm-up before that.

Once they decided, they placed their orders and waited.

“So, I was wondering, why didn’t you invite Thea instead of me?” Lily asked.

“Well, when it was offered, Thea and I weren’t a thing. It was only you and me, so you were my first thought. Even if it wasn’t the case, I would still have invited you. Thea is not exactly the type who enjoys this type of environment.” Yelena explained.

Lily nodded, although she still had some questions about the topic, especially regarding Thea.

“Interesting. I never would have thought she wouldn’t enjoy going to these parties. She seems pretty friendly. Is there a reason behind it?” Lily asked her question.

“It is just the way she is. She is good in smaller groups and can easily chat and befriend people. When it comes to bigger events, she has a lot of trouble. She gets overwhelmed if there are too many people around. So if she can help it, she will avoid it.” Yelena knew Thea well, so it was not hard to articulate exactly what she meant.

“I see, that makes sense. No point bringing her if she won’t enjoy it anyway. Plus, it means I’ll have you for myself for the night.” Lily smiled, knowing well how things would end up after the party.

As they talked, their appetizers already arrived, and they both started eating. They skipped lunch and then spent almost two hours getting the dresses, so they were both pretty hungry.

“Speaking of schoolmates, did you decide if you will go on the date with the princess?” Yelena shot Lily a mean look when she asked that.

Obviously, Yelena already told the previous day’s events to both Lily and Thea, so it wasn’t exactly a secret. The only thing still undecided was whether she would show up.

“It is not a date; she made that perfectly clear, but either way, I still didn’t make up my mind.” She answered.

Obviously, it would be very rude to just not show up or refuse the invitation, especially since they were talking about a member of the royal family. That being said, Yelena didn’t exactly want to spend the evening in the princess’ company.

“I think you should, also, it is a hundred percent a date. She might not admit it, and you are in full denial, but it is one.” Lily sounded certain about it.

“If you are so sure, then why would you want me to go? I mean, you saw her. How she behaves, her attitude and personality.” Yelena argued about it.

Lily looked up at her with a smile. She did indeed see the princess, but she also saw her from a completely different perspective, one that Yelena was clearly ignoring.

“She seemed very compliant when training with you. She never complained, and her usual arrogant attitude disappeared. The only issue was when you touched her, but I assume our princess is a little shy.” Lily shared her observation.

Yelena thought back to the times when they trained. She hated to admit it, but Lily was right. Valerie was more than compliant during their session.

“Still, that doesn’t mean anything. Maybe she just took the rules very seriously.” Yelena was not ready to give in.

Lily rolled her eyes; she couldn’t believe Yelena was still in full denial of the situation.

“It does mean a lot. I don’t think she behaves that way with anyone other than you, promise or not. If you are really that dense, you might not need your sword; you can simply bash your head into everything.” Lily grumbled.

Yelena was speechless. She couldn’t understand why Lily was trying so hard to convince her.

“So, in short, she is totally into you; also, I have a feeling she has a very specific inclination. One that I wouldn’t mind indulging in myself, too. I mean, if you are okay with that too. I don’t mean just her and me, more like the three of us together.” Lily got a little worried there at the end.

Now it makes much more sense why Lily is so pushy about it. While Yelena didn’t exactly know what inclination she was talking about, she could tell Lily was more than interested in a threesome with Yelena and the princess.
