Chapter 144: How I Met Your Mother? by Harem-Fan

Creak Creak~! The all black and gold carriage headed to the back mountain of the Dark Outer City...

From the slate color mountain side grew a large World Tree root that bulged out, before sinking deep into the earth again.

However, a grey swirling portal nearly 20 feet wide was large enough for the traveling row of carriages and mounted guards to pass through.

Alice was being hugged by Camila across from me on the opposing black leather couch seat.

To my left, Bianca held my arm and was smiling while staring at my face, and touching my hair.

"Although King Luke Balder I, was a Half Elf, you really look a lot like he did with your hair and eyes grey, like a real Balder man should, haha."

"Huh? I disguised my hair and eyes, you can see the true color?! Do you have True Sight as well?"

She leaned in close to see that her golden Vampire eyes were faintly covering her Cursed Eyes, and she told me.

"You are already aware of them, so my Cursed Eye abilities are Charm, Telekinesis, and True Sight. The only power that is very draining is my Charm, while Telekinesis depends on how much I use it, and True Sight is passive."

I nodded and said seriously.

"Wow, you actually have three abilities that are top notch, while Owen and Taki Tsuki both only have two. I'm jealous."

Her hand caressed my cheek and she shook her head.

"Seeing through your disguise ruins your fun around me, while Charm is useless to you, and moving things or myself can be done with magic items. No, your ability to hold two magic cores is the real power I am envious of."

Just as our carriage passed through the gate, Bianca slid into my lap sidesaddle with her arms around my neck and looking into my eyes...

"Those workers are actually Skeletons covered with illusion magic, and we have left this mindless and back breaking work for them, so the Humans can pursue real work they are suited for, like learning, crafts, and war crafts..."

"Aura users will join the army or hunt, while the lucky few women awaken magic and go to school, then usually become a harem member for a pure blood Vampire to give birth to noble Dhampir..."

"Any Human that is either talent-less or lazy, will instead work in one of the blood draining workshops, and donate blood while being magically healed to avoid death..."

"Unlike the Balder Kingdom, full of lazy nobles and citizens that scheme all day and are a drag on society, this system, although cruel by Human standards, motivates all Human families to learn and make something of themselves..."

"Productive Humans aren't drained all day for blood, a thankless lifestyle. The laws and hierarchy are strict, but the living conditions are guaranteed, with no major conflicts and little crime inside the Dark Garden."

I shook my head, and smiled at Bianca, who was trying to explain the Vampires way of life, so I just said...

"Don't worry, I am not judging with a Hero's Hypocritical Heart. Every culture and society has its ups, downs, flaws, and benefits. I can tell by looking around that it is a type of Utopia, even if it is closely managed."

Outside this Transylvania, Victorian, or Gothic medieval-like world, the peasants lined the road to see Matriarch Camila Dark's wedding procession, as it is a holiday today.

Except for the Skeletons (made from lazy Humans) with no union rights, the Humans and Dhampir are off to celebrate the historical day.

Camila said to me, while still holding back Alice from butting into Bianca's time with me.

"The Humans, and even Dhampir, are really excited about us marrying a living Human, and that is why they are all here to see you pass by, Dear."

"Mother, aren't you going to stop her?! We haven't gotten married yet?"

"Daughter, don't be jealous and look how happy Loki is right now? Do you think he wants to look out the window at people he won't meet, or make Bianca his while we ride through the capital city?"

Alice was pouting, but her yellow eyes wanted to see my expression afterwards...
